I was in vacation for 10 days. When I came back all plants needed attention bad. Hp13 #1 and giesel #2 were the worst. Bad slug damage and nutrient deficiencies. All plants received at least a feeding of stonington blend plant food. Hp13 #1 and giesel #2 got 2 cups and some compost.
Plants are doing better but still not nowhere I want them. I defoliated / pruned all plants. Removed a lot of damaged leafs and small branches at lower 1/4 of plants. Also preformed some super cropping. Hoping for another good week. Slugs are still a constant
Another great week. Bad storm hit Tuesday. Broke a branch off the sour giesel. Other than that, all plants recieved one cup feeding of c.o.m stonington blend scratched in to top inch of soil then covered with a healthy layer of the c.o.m compost. All plants thriving except giesel fallen sol #2. Still working on her. Definitely should have broken up root ball when transplanting in the ground. Big mistake. Hopefully she can bounce back.
Was on vacation all week. Very nervous that things would look poorly when I got back. Happily surprised when it appeared everything looked healthy. Plants are on the stretch before flowering.
Noticed both HP13 plants had split at junction where I originally topped. Found out I should have cut higher and left a nub above junction. I zip tied split and they seem to be doing just fine. That was about 5 days ago. Other than that plants are starting to smell. Excited to see what these ladies do during flowering. The giesel fall sol #2 really bounced back. Very happy about that. Sour is still my favorite.
Good week over all. I've been working out of town so watering has been tough. Almost no rain this week. One thing I will change next year is cutting the bottom off pots and burying them part way in ground. So the plants can draw from the ground water. Other than that it was good. Hp13 plants seem to be behind giesel plants. I would have thought it would have been the other way around.
Giesels crosses are all stacking up nicely. Giesel fallen sol #1 and HP13 fall sol #1 both seems to be hungrier than the others. Been out of town part of the week and there was no rain so plants definitely suffered. All and all things are good.
Another great week. Lots of sunshine. Girls are stacking up nicely. Starting to get some frost on the giesel crosses. Hp13 fallen sol 1 is starting to flower. Hoping I can get her to the finish line. Giesel fallen sol #1 is dropping leafs like crazy. Doesn't seem to matter how much I feed. I think it's just how it grows.
Did some defoliation on sour giesel and hp13 #2. Everything is doing well. Really interested in that hp13#1 it is so different from Everything else. Noticed one half of plant is behind other half. Looking like she could go into November, weather permitting. Giesels hybrids are all looking like they will be done around second week of October.
Had some heavy rain for a couple days. Definitely got me nervous about bud rot. Gonna defoliate giesel #2 and the sour this weekend. Also ordered some lost coast therapy. Gonna try that out next week. Just wanna make it to the finish line with out loosing the whole crop to
Did some major defoliation on giesel #2 and sour giesel. Sprayed all plants with some lost coast therapy. Trying to ride out october rains the best I can. Plants are looking great. Giesel hybrids will be coming down around the 12-15th range. Hp13s are looking to be late october babies. Happy days!
