CriticalJohnson I waited until April for better weather and only planted the seeds in the ground on May 4th. I filled a 15-20L pot with 80% of my compost soil and the top 20% with tomato and vegetable soil. Since this is my first grow, I was worried that the compost soil might be too strong for a seedling. That's why I put the purchased soil on top. But that was probably unfounded. I couldn't notice any differences compared to the second grow, two weeks later, with just the vegetable soil. I generally tried a bit here and there to get to know the plant. After 6 days in the soil, it finally sprouted on May 10, 2024. The plant has a spot in a small shelter where tomatoes usually grow. The thing is made of those corrugated plastic panels, which I cleaned beforehand since it was a few years old and pretty dirty. For the first 7-10 days, I also had a plastic cup with holes over it.

CriticalJohnson For the first time, I didn't check on the plant every day, and it got eaten by slugs, which are generally very common this year. Then I immediately removed the shelter from all the slugs and also found the 2 culprits at the edge of the pot. It was quite a setback at first. Maybe I made it easier for the slugs with the LST. The weather was still perfect for slugs, but it's slowly getting better, and summer is coming. The plant has also recovered well and has pushed out new leaves right away. I left the chewed leaves on until there was enough new foliage.

CriticalJohnson Height is now difficult to assess due to LST. Has reached the pot's edge and is now being bent to the left. Has recovered very well from the snail attack and is showing its sex. That means flowering is coming soon. Removed snails every day this week to prevent another attack.

CriticalJohnson I've given up on the LST and let the main stem grow normally during the flowering stage. I definitely stressed the plant a lot, and it doesn't really look nice :D I don't have a picture from the beginning of the week. I can't remember why, but it was probably because of the new phone switch. The plant has stretched really well, and the longest branch is now about 60cm. The rest of the plant is around 40-45cm.

CriticalJohnson I don't do much anymore. Every 2 days, there are 2 liters. Every other time with fertilizer. Generally, the compost soil retains moisture very well, and I have to water very little. At least, that's how it seems to me. By the end of the week, the buds are slowly gaining mass. Just a reminder: The Sweet ZZ is the experiment on the left :'D

CriticalJohnson The exam phase has completely taken over my life, and I'm only rarely with the plants now. Just about 2 times a week to check if they're molding. Then I water them. Once just with water and once with nutrients. At this point, I think I'm moving towards the end. About 3 weeks left by my estimation. Based on the current buds, I'm expecting around 25g of dry yield. Let's see if I'm right.

CriticalJohnson Like seemingly every other outdoor grower in Germany, I've been hit by bud rot... At the end of the week, I noticed a brown spot on one of the buds. I removed it right away. But that won't be the end of it, as will be shown next week.

CriticalJohnson Mold, mold, and more mold. I tried to let them finish ripening by the window in the shed. They still got moldy, but definitely less than outside. On Saturday night, I chopped them down. Those 3 months shouldn't be for nothing. I'm sure there will be a bit more mold that I missed during the wet trim when drying. But in the end, it should still be around 10-15g. I would also say that I always spotted the mold spots quickly to prevent worse issues. Next update will be with the dry weight and conclusion.

CriticalJohnson I would say it's well-suited for beginners. I had no problems with pest infestations. It handled the snail attack pretty well. Towards the end, there was mold due to very dense buds. The smell wasn't convincing enough for me to want to grow it again. It doesn't taste bad, but it's nothing special. The yield was surprisingly good, especially considering the plant I'm currently growing, which I'm not influencing with LST. Overall, I got: 10g trim 11g small stuff 14g proper buds So in the end, 25g of usable material. Pretty good considering the mold issue, etc. Without that, I would have definitely had around 35g of usable material. All in all, 8/10.
