Purple Joe LSD Auto

I'm now using LED lighting with a 60x60x80 grow tent. Despite the upgrade from the 50W CFL lamp to the LED light, growth is still relatively slow. Lighting intensity is adjusted to ~400 PPFD (the maximum with the LED lamp) No nutrients are being used (the soil is surprisingly rich in minerals - see week 3) Daytime temperature is 22°C (according to Captain Hindsight; it might be beneficial to increase it a bit)

First Nutrient Application Water: pH 5.8, TDS 0.3 mS/cm Drain: pH 7.2 (!!); TDS 1.6 mS/cm (!!) The soil remains quite heavy, keeping the water at a low pH and TDS... Day 21: Received new LED light (for a 120x120x200 grow tent) and installed it. Increased lighting intensity from 500 PPFD to 750 PPFD (~40 DLI). Impressive results should start showing by day 24. The plant is beginning to grow more vigorously and appears to be in much better condition!

Watering: 1.2 liters, pH 5.6, EC 0.2 mS/cm Drain: pH 7.1, EC 3.4 mS/cm Note: Drain readings are improving, aiming for an EC around 1.x mS/cm. Day 25: LST (Low-Stress Training): Tried to control plant height inside an Ikea cabinet. The plant might need to be a bit bigger for effective LST. Day 28: Move to Final Grow Tent: Moved the plant to a Secret Jardin Dark Street grow tent.

Day 30 & 31: LST & Defoliation: Further LST of main stem and light defoliation of shaded leaves. Many side branches developing. Watering: 1 liter (pH 5.8; EC 1.2 mS/cm), no drain. Day 34: LST & Defoliation: Continued LST and defoliation (very bushy). Watering: 1.6 liters (pH 6.2; EC 1.1 mS/cm), still no drain. Note: Plant is very thirsty; soil is dry-ish. Will shorten the intervals between waterings until there is drain again.

This week, I let her grow on her own and stretch significantly (~1-2 cm per day). Still having issues with pH and possibly too many nutrients in the soil, but she’s handling it well. Day 45: Watering: 3 liters (pH 5.7; 1400 µS/cm) Drain: 0.5 liters (pH 7.0; 2000 µS/cm) Day 48: Watering: 3 liters (pH 5.1; 1600 µS/cm) Drain: 0.3 liters (pH 7.1; 2200 µS/cm)

Day 50: Watering: 2.0 liters (pH 4.5; 700 µS/cm) Drain: 0.15 liters (pH 7.2; 2200 µS/cm) Day 52: Flush: 4 liters (pH 3.5; 200 µS/cm) Drain: 2.0 liters (pH 7.3; 900 µS/cm) Day 55: Watering: 2.4 liters (pH 4.9; 1400 µS/cm) Drain: 0.1 liters (pH 7.2; 1400 µS/cm)

Day 57: Watering: 3.0 liters (pH 4.8; EC 1650 µS/cm) Drain: 0.4 liters (pH 7.5; EC 1500 µS/cm) Fertilizer: Crazy Hills Week IV Day 59: Watering: 3.1 liters (pH 3.8; EC 1100 µS/cm) Drain: 0.5 liters (pH 7.1; EC 1600 µS/cm) Additives: No fertilizer, 100 mg/l Calcium, 40 mg/l Magnesium, 2 ml phosphoric acid Day 61: Watering: 3.0 liters (pH 4.4; EC 1800 µS/cm) Drain: 0.5 liters (pH 6.9; EC 1800 µS/cm) Fertilizer: Crazy Hills Week VI + 25 mg/l Calcium Day 63: Watering: 3.1 liters (pH 4.9; EC 1000 µS/cm) Drain: 0.3 liters (pH 7.1; EC 1300 µS/cm) Additives: No fertilizer, 100 mg/l Calcium, 40 mg/l Magnesium, 1 ml phosphoric acid

Day 65: Watering: 3.0 liters (pH 6.1; EC 2400 µS/cm) Drain: 0.2 liters (pH 7.5; EC 2500 µS/cm) Fertilizer: Crazy Hills Week VI + CalMag + pH- Day 67: Watering: 3.2 liters (pH 6.5; EC 2100 µS/cm) Drain: 0.2 liters (pH 7.7; EC 2700 µS/cm) Fertilizer: Crazy Hills Week V + CalMag + pH- Note: Realized she was very thirsty. Day 68: Watering: 2.0 liters (pH 6.0; EC 500 µS/cm) Drain: 0.3 liters (pH 7.0; EC 2400 µS/cm) Additives: No fertilizer, just CalMag + pH+ Day 69: Watering: 2.6 liters (pH 6.5; EC 300 µS/cm) Drain: 0.6 liters (pH 6.8; EC 1900 µS/cm) Additives: No fertilizer, just CalMag + pH+ Note: Finally getting some drain, seems to be okay again.
