Hsolo The plant was raised on the windowsill for the first few weeks. Skylight facing east but hardly any sun in April. Started in regular seedling soil. I mixed in some mycorrhizal fungus stuff. Otherwise, just a bit of water once a week, pH 7.6 drinking water.

Hsolo The plant was topped this week above node 7. The soil is just compost soil from hedge trimming. I also added a handful of organic slow-release fertilizer for tomatoes. I've only watered it with rainwater so far, except for the first 3-4 weeks indoors. But it has rained so much that I hardly ever had to water. I put the plant outside after May 10. But now I will buy Biobizz Grow!

Hsolo The plant will soon be transplanted into a larger pot. The pot is too narrow at the bottom. In the wind, I always feel like it might tip over. A new 50-liter pot will also be the final pot. The plant had a few aphids. I sprayed them with neem oil (works great) and they're all gone!

Hsolo The plant gets full sunlight at this location from 11 AM to 6 PM when the sun actually shines.

Hsolo The plant is still growing, sometimes 2 - 3 cm a day. I didn't think it would get this big. But now it's getting yellow leaves inside that are falling off, and some leaves are showing tips. Maybe it's just age?? It has to hold on for a few more weeks. On warm or hot days, it drinks up to 10 liters of water a day. Since the flowering, I've been mixing 1:1 rainwater and drinking water to get to about pH 6.5.

Hsolo Currently, we have summer! A lot of beautiful hot days up to 30 degrees. She drinks 20 liters of water a day! It's a bit hard to estimate, but I think flowering week 4 is starting now. Outdoor it's going a bit slower. She has really developed a lot of buds by now. The stem has a diameter of about 4 cm. The diameter of the plant is about 120 cm. I've been wondering the whole time if the mycorrhiza fungus granules have made a difference?! At least it hasn't harmed so far. Everything has gone smoothly without major problems. I'm really curious about the result. Addendum for last week: The yellow leaves are normal, NO nitrogen deficiency! The leaves are yellow and falling off due to the age of the plant. I have fertilized a bit less and not at all in the last few days, and now the yellow tips are turning green again! The supposed nitrogen deficiency led to over-fertilization. An update for this week: With the hot temperatures, I had to water a lot. I would say the pot is still too small! The soil is completely hard full of roots. Given the size, a 100-liter pot would have been better. I had to water twice a day with 10 liters each time. Maybe one should also prefer a light-colored pot.

Hsolo I have no idea what flowering week she is actually in right now. Instead of flowers, she has gained more size. The week before, she hardly grew at all. Maybe because of the heat?! The last few days have been a bit cooler, and she has really put on some weight. I didn't fertilize last week because of the light leaf tips. But besides the size, not much has changed! We still have almost 6 weeks until October. So theoretically, we should be in week 3 of flowering?! But the first flowers have already been visible for about 6 weeks. OK.. This is my first outdoor plant, hopefully, I'll be smarter with the next one 😆.
