Germination

ratatas This genetic is a cross I made with some flowers from the Franco Lemon Cheese by Green House Seed. I used the pollen from my first plant, which was a male. It was a long-term process. I collected and stored the pollen for a year, and only after about 4 or 5 cycles did I pollinate the Franco Lemon Cheese. This whole process took an average of 2 years, and it was not planned at all. Here, we work with what we have and when we have it. The germination was done in a cup with water and 10 volume hydrogen peroxide. After the radicle appeared (3 days), it went straight into the substrate; I positioned the radicle well in the soil and waited for the seed coat to break. This part is not an easy process for an anxious person who was already struggling to germinate the last available seeds. But who would have thought, after so many years, a homemade artisanal cross would end up germinating… Let’s follow the growth of this warrior!

ratatas In this first week, she came with some really strange first leaves. I had some difficulties with temperature and humidity, I thought about discarding her, but I decided to leave her in natural light to see how she will evolve..

ratatas Still having difficulties controlling temperature and humidity, but complementing with sunlight has made a big difference at the beginning. I'm Brazilian and I never give up. Let's keep pushing for another week and see how she evolves.

ratatas Is it just me or did it already come with 2 branches even without me doing an apical cut?… that's really crazy! Hahahaha So here’s a funny story: in this first experience as a pollen chucker, the father's genetics were from pressed Paraguayan… during the grow, due to a mishap, the panel fell on the plant and broke its stem in half, but I managed to save it to collect the pollen… The seed was regular, I don't know if it was male or turned hermaphrodite due to stress, but indeed its offspring already came with the first branch without pruning, with the father's trauma in the genetics ahahaha as if to say: “you don’t need to drop a panel on me to branch out more…” hahahahah Anyway, funny facts

ratatas Transplanted to the final pot. Bizarre plant-eating insect is a law at the beginning of the cycle. I used castor cake as a cover and it helped a lot.

ratatas I'm amazed at the vigor with which this plant is growing. I started with Bokashi and agrosilicon only when I transplanted it to the final pot. This weekend, I plan to start the first watering with GH and make the transition to 12/12. Now it's just fingers crossed for it to be female! 🏽♀️
