Week 11: We finished up another week and the end is in sight! Visually, both plants seem to be filling out a bit and darkening. As promised, I busted out a microscope from the DDR era and was able to snag a few photos of the trichomes after a lot of trying. Next time we'll be using something easier. 😬 I do see some amber, but it's mostly cloudy at this point. Divine Seeds recommends a 60 flowering time minimum and it looks to be on track.
- Light: Kept light at max on a 18/6 schedule at max power.
- Water: 1.5L per plant, every other day.
- Nutrients: lemon juice to water to bring the pH down to 6.3. CalMag, bio-grow, bio-bloom and molasses. 1x diastatic malt powder mixed into feed water at 1 tsp/ 3L, but only one watering this week.
- Environment: Turned on the heater this week because of ambient temp drop. VPD: 1.26 kPa (Mid Flower / high transpiration).
Next week we'll germinate the seeds of our next grow, my first non-auto grow. 😘 Until then!
@Natrona, Hey! sorry for the late response. I hope it's still helpful.
I've used molasses the last couple grows and I would recommend. Make sure you get de-sulfured cane molasses as this is quite important. It may or may not help with your Frosted Guava however. The idea is that the molasses helps the living organisms in your soil to prosper - so if you are growing in water or using non-organic ferts, it's probably not going to help much. But let me know how it goes!
PS, check out diastatic malt powder. ;)
@TherealNICOGREEN, shiiiit. That's incredibly disappointing. I've been pretty lucky up to this point and I think it has to do with controlling the VPD in the tent. It's not perfect - I estimate my leaf temps for instance - but I think it's close enough to keep the mold at bay. I think you'll be happy with the next batch. I'm a month into their Kabul (also from the contest) and it's quite nice. They seem to have some good genetics. Good luck!
