Welcome everyone to my NEW Tent GrowOFF, featuring CBG varieties. Much like my previous Strawberry Tent GrowOff there will be awards given, more on that below. I normally had 6 sponsors for this but one failed to arrive so we are going with 5 CBG plants and one special CBD plant, this CBD plant was sent along side the CBG seeds from GTR. All of the plants are Photoperiods this run vs autoflowers like later time and they will be grown out with some LST and HST then flipped to flower to see how they fair. + [Best In Tent] = Over all best plant in the tent. + [Best Smell] = The best smelling plant based of my seances fresh & cured will be rated + [Best Buds] = The best looking buds visually, colour, density and frost will be rated + [Best Yeild] = The heaviest yielder of them all, total grams/OZ will be rated + [Best Taste] = The tastiest tasting buds, personal preference based on the guineapigs I outsource to smoke/vape the buds. + [Best Form] = The best growth pattern and form out of the plants, nothing to stretchy or compact. + [Best High] = The best feeling buds from getting stoned, personal preference based on the guineapigs I outsource to smoke/vape the buds. The Best High category will be hard to judge as their should not be any high. but it will be amended to how relaxed the person feels, It will be difficult to find some users to try this without smoking other weed at the same time but I will get it done. A big thanks for the hosts of this contest and their a quite a few. #1 Medic Grow for supping the lights, the twin setup of Mini Sun2 240w are extremely powerful and deliver a whopping amount of power, upwards of 480w. I use their lights at a 30" hang height, 40% in veg at 16/8 & 60% in flower at 11/13 cycles, this gives me just a hair over 37DLI for the day and a ideal amount of light. https://medicgrow.com/ #2 Acti-Sol / Acadie, The opportunity to try out some of their products arose and with having used them outside with great success I wanted to give them a shot indoors as well. Will be using both lines of Hen Manure and Sea/fish fertilizers. Very excited to try the Acadie lineup as I am new to it but have a really good feeling about it in flower. https://acti-sol.ca/en/ #3 Seeds, A big thanks to brands returning for this GrowOff like Exotic Seeds + Seedsman and some new ones that look extra promising like GTR with their seedless or triploid strains. 1. MSNL - https://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/cbg-soul-feminized-seeds 2. CANUK - https://www.canukseeds.com/canuk-cbg-feminized-seeds-canuk-seeds + A sick hoodie! it's nice and perfect thickness, blocks the cold and the months are getting colder. 3. Exotic Seeds - https://www.exoticseed.eu/products/exotic-pure-cbg 4. SeedsMan - https://www.seedsman.com/uk-en/seedsman-cbg-1-feminised-seeds-sman-cbg1-fem 5. GTR Seeds - https://gtrseeds.com/products/white-cbg-seedless 6. GTR Seeds - https://gtrseeds.com/products/forbidden-v-seedless I will be using a living soil mix to grow these in similar to my previous grows, It will consist of Coir, Compost, Worm castings, Perlite, Vermiculite, microbes and dry amendments + liquid fertilizers from the Acti-Sol / Acadie lineup and others. I will be starting them out in smaller containers and transplanting them up into larger ones as the weeks go on. I will list out all the nutrients going into them but the amounts maybe a bit of a guess as the soil is premixed and then I fill the container when transplanting. I originally tried to make this a blind diary, as in I would not have any idea what seed was what but the person helping me was a bit of moron and recorded all the numbers wrong so I have no idea what is what in the original planting. When I tried to trouble shoot this with them they got frustrated and said fuck it, just goes to show you can not count on anyone for simple basic tasks if they are even the tiniest bit high. I had some seeds left over and also started them in mini yogurt cups to help avoid any mistakes and will be using them moving forward. Still disappointed as I really wanted it to be a blind grow. But maybe next time. Will update the germination week as more seeds sprout. As of right now only 1 seed from the blind group has sprouted. I also buried them seeds a bit to deep so I am not expecting many of them to grow to well with the soil. Mistake made, even after adding in extra perlite to the mix to help it not do that. *****UPDATE***** Small update, On the original blind batch of seeds, "12 containers", only one sprouted. Some seed in cup #2, according to my list but buddy helped me with, that very well might be wrong... it says it is for Forbidden V Seedless GTR. and of my new seeds in the smaller cups number 6 popped up and that is also 100% Forbidden V Seedless by GTR. So it looks like I have two of them plants ATM. we will see how they grow in the coming weeks. On another note, I am using the last of all my CBG seeds to test their germination. I have 2 left out of the 5 sent by Exotic Seeds and Seedsman. I am soaking them in water for 24 hrs then will move to a paper towel till I see a tap root formed. I don't want to say all the seeds are bad just a weird level of no sprouts from all of them. High chance this is from my own doing and the medium being off. The GTR seeds where the last seeds sent to me and I got them when weather was nice. Canada post may have left the other ones in a cold environment, maybe they got damaged or if they xraying the packages maybe higher levels of radiation??? IDK testing it out. For the medium test, I will be plating a bunch of herb seeds that I know grows and germinates just fine, if they fail to grow then I know its on me and not just sensitive seeds in germination. there is a chance something in the mix is off and is preventing seeds from growing, the bag of compost where a bit older but looked and smelled fine?? The test herbs are as follows, Dill, Cilantro, Basil Mammolo, Basil Holy, Chives Chineese aka Garlic Chives, Parsley/Thyme and Catnip, they are all in the older containers from the blind test that was a epic failure. I also started two other seeds, Kannabia THCv x2 and GTR double durban THCv x2 So even if some of the CBG seeds fail I still will have special cannabinoids like CBDv and THCv. I am hopeing the CBG all sprout but I want to be safe vs sorry. If they all pop Up. I will donate the left over sprouted plants to my grow shop/buddy, can see what they will do with them. I can awlays try them again when I have the room. *****UPDATE#2***** Ok so after testing out the medium with herbs and other cannabis seeds sent in the same packages as the CBG ones I can say that the soil/medium is not the issue, The herbs and other cannabis seeds are sprouting just fine. Of the CBG seeds left over that I do have 2 of them are all having issues. Is this from temps or living soils or bad seeds IDK. I placed 2 Exotic CBG Seeds, 2 Seedsman CBG seeds into water for 12hrs then into moist paper towels in a sealed container. One of the Exotics swelled has a small little tail less then 1mm and its done nothing else last three days, the 2nd one sorta split out of its shell with some cotyledons but did not develop a tap root and is growing abit. If i am gentile I maybe able to get it into the medium without damaging it. The 2 Seedsmans seeds have done nothing but get a bit darker, they have not cracked its shell or swelled up like other germinating seeds It looks like they maybe undeveloped. As a back up I then put 2 seeds each of other seeds I have, Kannabis THCv, GTR THCv in older seed pots where some of CBG seeds where, and they have all sprouted. It looks to be a seed issue as of yet, but I also wonder if CBG seeds are a bit more special in their needs and sensitive to temps changes. Giving I was sent them at the beginning of our winter months, did they get too cold in transport? are they not well suited for a living soil? Does how they get made/produced make them less viable? Lot of unknowns. In short it looks like this diary is no longer a CBG grow off but a special cannabinoid with THCv CBDv CBD and I hope to get one CBG plant out of it all. Will keep you posted on more updates and seeds progress. *****UPDATE#3***** Ok all the herbs are germinating but the parsley and thyme container, The seeds where really old and parsley is known to drop off in germination rates as the seeds get older. However The Basil, Holy Basil, Chives, Cilantro, catnip and Dill are all popping up. So my theory of the medium being off is not 100% as shit is growing, however it could have been to compact or buried to deep but I placed then 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep like normally so IDK. just gad the 2nd round popped. I tried planting the exotic seed that had helmet head but one of its cotyledons broke off. I knew it might be a goner and it is now dead but looked ok ish day of transplant. I also took a week looking GTR THCv sprout and placed it into the cilantro container thinking it would not survive and it did. The seedsman seeds showed no signs of life and went into one of the herbs containers but can't remember what one, I don't expect to see them coming up anytime but if they do I will know its them. Of the other seeds I was sent I was unable to get them to germinate. Kannabia's THCv all came up strong, same with GTR THCv, The CANUK Cbd they provided are also looking nice. Even if I was to be sent new seeds, its to late to get em in the tent and the postal system has been down for about a month now. Its bonkers. Should be able to start my diary now.

Ok, so first week is finally here. First off I want to extend a big thank you to the brands Seedsman, MSNL, Exotic Seeds for sending CBG seeds and a big sorry from me for not being able to germinate them. I have made notes that all CBG seeds need a bit of special treatment, Living soils are not great unless they are aged well, and better to just start them in perlite, compost and coir/peat. stupid simple. Now the other none CBG seeds did fine in living soil, same with the herbs but some of the herbs also struggled and has low germination rates like the chives. No idea of the chive seed age as I have not grown them in years so this could be part of it. In better news some of CBG seeds have been replaced with a CBDv and THCv and regular CBD The THCv is a GTR seed vs a Kannabia THCv Seed, curious how these two will compare. Both are a 1:1 ratio of THC : THCv The CBDv is from GTR and the CBD is from CANUK, they sent it alongside the CBG as a "try this out as well" PS still rocking the hoodie, its nice and thick perfect for this time of year. SO onto diary updates, The seeds got their first transplant into smaller square pots at 3.5" vs mini yogurt cups, now I will wait for them to acclimatize into its new size and then transfer up to 1Gal when the time is right. Made a little video of transplanting them and took some extra photos of the herbs that are going strong. Also took a photo of 12hrs after transplant the the plants are looking nice still. I over watered them and let them drain to prevent a spike in EC in the soil. this way the soil can breakdown a bit more slowly and prevent any burning and such. The one THCv seedling I plucked out of one pot is going strong with the cilantro. I did this so their would only be one in the other pot, Will gift this to my buddies who need some plants. Also have some leftover CBDv CBD seeds that I started out of caution, they will be doing the same thing, going to buddies. I'm hoping my one guy takes em all as he was intrested in some of the different cannabinoids like THCv and CBDv and CBG The transplanted medium is amended with lots of stuff and Acti-Sol, the plants seem to do really well on this once they are established. I find topdressing with Acti-Sol is hard and does not work well so it needs to be added into the medium/pot before hand. Outdoors is a bit easier as the roots don't fill the pot to the brim, so topdressing is much easier. Once transplanting is over and they are in their final pot then they will get the liquid feed from the same company, Acadie :) Also first time trying out a Si additive into the soil. Using DE or diatomaceous earth, its now super available but should do the trick. I read studies about it on how adding it into the soil did increase SI content in the plant despite it not being readily available. The mineral wollastonite is a better option but I don't have any on hand. Weird that it comes from a Canadian mine as well. I think that's all, will comeback and update as needed. Fertilizer is going to be added in ml for the whole container not doing the math for what it is per L.

Ok, so I forgot to take any pics on week two and holiday time week 3 came up real fast. so we are going to skip over any of the week two details. just watered em and they grew. This week we did a nice little transplant into their final 2gal pots. Fortified with a bunch of amendments and Acti-Sol, everything is listed in the video. Any question just let me know. I don't age my medium at all and I think I should start doing this to avoid some other things, I just find it hard to do it in winter time indoors as soil can be stinky with amendments and I like it to stay in the tent under the carbon filter. Medium I used is 40% coir, 30% perlite, 20% compost, 10% vermiculite and 10% worm castings. Then the amendments are added into that at the rate of 30-60ml per 1Gal of medium. This batch has Gaia 4-4-4, Gaia Insect Frass, Giaia Diatomaceous Earth, Gaia Rock Dust, Acti-Sol Seaweed Meal, Acti-Sol Shrimp/Crab Meal, Acti-Sol 4-3-2, Acti-Sol 4-6-8 and Bokashi. Nice little mix, water it in with a bit of magnesium and microbes dissolved into the water. The bokashi should help break everything down and make a bit of a acidic environment for all the meals and rock dust to become available. Roots looked good, not a dense as some runs but still nice. I feel the soil might be a bit hot so will expect some burnage on them hopefully its nothing to crazy. Will ph down with a mix of citric, malic and ascorbic acids. They are in a rate of something like 50-60%/40-30%/5-10%, its written down in my of my notes just can't find the pad ATM. Also more videos vs anything this week. I like em more but processing them is annoying AF. Side note, my lights timer was on 12/12 not 16/8 so it explains why they went into bloom, switch it back and will top the plants next week one they start to reverse their ways and get comfortable in the new pots. Also got ride of the chive seed start as it was looking sad, plus I got a bunch of European chive varieties in the mail yesterday and want to try them out. see if they really have any different taste and what ones I like better. Till next week.

Not a bad week, nothing much happening, topped the plants and made some more dry PH down as I don't like using the liquid Phosphoric acid down as I don't use it fast enough and its going bad. Starting to discolor and tun yellow from clear. The acorbic acid is also ageing and going yellow, will need to replace it soon. ran the ph down mix through and sieve to grind it all down to around the same particle size for the chucks. Also added in a desiccate packet into the container to help with moisture issues. Over all the plants are good. Some issues with the transplant but not going to react to it. just going to let it sort its self out. defiantly some N tox, seems to always happen with Gaia Green 4-4-4 the N content is just too available while the rest is slower release. Would like it if their N in the formula was a bit more slow release over all. most of it is fast. Some of them showing some other issues as well but just have to wait it out. they are also going back into veg from my mess up on the lights. Thought they where on 16/8 but was really 12/12 from a week or so ago. the CBG seeds from GTR are doing the best. handling the extra N with good strides and nice growth on them. Topping plants was fine, took some pics of their tops. tried to get em all around the same height. looks good to me. Herbs doing well too. the basil is getting nice and deep rich green. can smell it heavy if the plant is brushed at all. Will need to keep pinching off their tops to make a tasty little plant. The catnip is going to explode in size I have a feeling. Its only one seed in that whole pot. Taste so good crushed into some cola. Nice minty flavor but not too offensive/sharp like other common mints such as pepermint or spearmint, its softer and almost creamy. highly recommend. fresh not dired.

Weeks has been good. its really week 5.5 half way though but wanted to do the update today. The one THCv plant is having some issues flipping back to veg after the mix up. Its really getting weird AF. and I think next week is when I will be flipping them to bloom so IDK how that one is going to react. I have more seeds of that one so if it fails its ok I can grow it again. the CBG's are the strongest in the tent. Added their first feeding of the Acadie fertilizer, low amount. 5ml/1gal its recommended rate is 30ml per 1L seems crazy high but that's what the label suggests. Herbs also doing well, gave them a feeding too and last week I added in some Nematodes as I saw a gnat, but have not seen any other ones since applying. so that's a bonus. Again a bit to much N in the mix, I did not think I added that much but guess I did. Looks ok on all the other nutrients. Also a nice little shoutout to IZI, they sent over a strain to try with some cool stickers and a leaflet of all their strains. I got the Lemonade Kush, This was stuck in the mail for a month or so, I think they sent it out just before the strike in Nov and it arrived in early/mid Jan. https://izi.farm/seeds/lemonade-krush-genetics-fem-izi-2 Other then that nothing much to report.

Good little week, showing some signs of a PH swing in the medium will have to adjust the amount of PH down I add into the mix. I have not been monitoring the PH as it always seems to do just fine. But when I did it this time it was hitting 4.0-4.2 so its a big swing. To bad I only did this after the fact with the left overs. Next week will get no PH down. Flipped it to flower at the beginning of the week, doing 12/12 on 40% as I might be away for a bit and if my friend needs to take care of the plants I don't want them working about to much DLI. So its getting under fed in light a bit but that's ok. When I am back I can increase it or just leave it as is. Added in its first dose of Acadie See Weed extract 15ml/gal 0.6-0-6, its recommended dose is 5ml/L so 15ml/1gal is good, also added some more of the Fish Hydrolysate 2-4-0.5 about 7ml/gal, its recommended dose is 30ml/gal every 2-4 weeks so this works out well if I am feeding them weekly. The one THCv plant by GTR is not doing so hot, it has not grown at all and barley drank anything since last week so I am just leaving it alone and hopes it will bounce back. Everything else is getting nice and bushy. All the herbs are doing well, cat nip is growing in nice and bushy with the pinching, same with the basil. The dill and cilantro is getting leggy and likely going to chop them and use them in some cooking. got a fish dish that would be nice, turn em into tacos. Other then that I think that's it. O yea. The nutrients are all fucked up. It shows me some ml/l options but all the labels are gone so no idea whats happening, any questions just ask.

Good little week. Bit early posting but that's ok. Been finding the new growth in coming in a bit lighter shade of green then darkening up. Measured the height of them as well and last few weeks I had not updated that part. Started some new Dill as I ate all the other stuff and started some Chives too, got this stuff shipped in from Poland right as the postal strike happened in Canada so it was sitting around somewhere for a good month and a bit. Excited to try this dill as its said to be supper dilly and its essential oil content is to be stronger then other varieties. I think its true as I could smell the seeds though the international packaging. The chives I saw had three varieties and did not know they existed so I got all 3 to try out and see what ones I like best. Jemna, Erecta and Perga, The site said Prega are early and have a sharp taste to them, Erecta is mind and delicate with upright growth and the Jemna are thick and juicy. Added in some BSM to this grow as I feel the soil life is extra hungry with all the other microbe boosters and things going into the mix, also gave it a bit of Mg from Epsom salts as its kinda low in the products and don't want it running out in stretch. then topped it all off with some fish, Still looks to be having some N tox but getting better. I cleared up some leaves that where touching the soil line as I don't like that. and some others fell off when I was cleaning the tent. Don't have pics of the mini plants, CBG and CBDv but they are doing good as well. impressed with their size in the small pot. The one GTR THCv is still having issues but drank a good amount of its water, so it got a half amount to keep it happy. Hopefully in the next week or two it will be on par with the others. Found some more gnats in the fan blades but nothing infesting the pots after adding nematodes. And one of the leaves from the corner CANUK CBD plant looked a bit spotted like mite bites but I don't think that's was it id as I can not find any on the underside or webs and it was only isolated on that one leaf. But will keep an eye out for the little 2dot fuckers. I think that's it.

They are getting nice and stretchy. Can see some interesting growth traits between then all. Tent is a bit to crowded for my linking but they are 8 plants crammed into a 2x4 so don't know what I was expecting. They are doing well and next week I will be getting a buddy to take care of them so curious to see how they look when I get back. Made it stupid simple and feed them a bit more this week in hopes the remainder will carry on over to next week and be fine. Might also mix a bit of amendments into the stop layer so it just gets a bit more into it. nothing else to report. Temps and RH are doing well with the extractor. Place has been kinda dry so its working in the tents benefit. noticed some calcium like issues on one lead and found it odd as I amended a good amount of Ca into the soil and its only on one of the leaves. Might just be something else but something to think about while I am gone. Will get my friend to send me some pics of everything to make sure its going well. I also noticed the PH of the feed I give is around 5.1 for whatever reason it is quite acidic but does not seem to bother the plants to much. I know if I fed that kinda thing before I would have ran into issues. *Small Update, I top dressed with a bit of Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 "found a small amount in an old bucket" and some super fly insect frass of 3-2-4 and a bit of rock dust for extra Ca and some micros. I mixed all this stuff up and gave each bucket a heaping 1tsp/5ml of the powder mix. Normally the recommended dose is 1Tbsp/15ml per Gal. and the container are 2Gal. so its getting a very light dose. This will hold it over with everything else that's in the medium. Till next next week.
