Hi fellow home growers,
I decided not to waste time every week giving updates. I work 60 hours a week on average plus tend to a large vegetable garden during late spring to fall. So to take time every week to update this diary that very few people view and comment on is a bit of a waste of time. That said, I still think posting an overview of results at the end is a benefit to those seeking my two bits regarding a particular cultivar.
So…. This was my annual outdoor Autoflower grow. I chose Mephisto Genetics Walter White. The plants did very well considering the nights this summer at my location were below normal in temperature.
I started with seven plants, one in a 5 gal pot the others in 10 gal pots. All with KIS Organics BioChar soil mix.
There were 2 different expressions that were noticed. Two of the plants were smaller with looser bud structure and early purple coloring. The other 5 plants were slightly larger with tighter bud structure and little to no purple coloring.
I gave 1 of the purples to a friend to finish growing and to keep. The others I finished myself. I use a Cannatrol Cool Cure for drying and initial cure so I staggered my harvest with 3 plants on day 89 and three plants at day 98. Not much difference between the two. I did yield 1 ounce more on the 98 day plants but 2 of those 3 did throw a few nanners. Nothing crazy but they had had enough.
Leaf to calyx ratio was a bit on the leafy side with all plants but it wasn’t horrible. Also as typical with outdoor grows in my PNW area the buds were not terribly dense BUT…. They were frosty as hell and friggin terpy AF.
Total dry weight for my 6 plants was just over 15 ounces. Not bad considering that my temps at night were averaging the very low 50’s.
The smell is really intense. All are almost identical and smell like Lemon Pine-Sol floor cleaner. Quite astringent actually. The 3 plants first harvested have now cured for a total of 22 days. There’s been a slight decline in the astringent pop to the nose but it’s still there.
The smoke is smooth like living soil weed usually is. It’s lemon citrus on the inhale and piney with an almost creamy pine citrus exhale. This is a potent strain. It hits the head fast and hard for the first 45 minutes then slowly settles into a nice body relaxing ending. Four tokes off a joint kept me high for about 3 hours.
I recommend this strain to all level of growers. It was easy and healthy throughout. It can be pulled in 75 days but the extra time did add weight and trichome production.
8.5/10 on this cultivar
