Week 1 of Veg. Germination was weird: started two seeds out of the pack of three. One sprouted (later became known as "Jack Herer B") but the other didn't. So I germinated the final seed (later became known as "Jack Herer A") and it quickly caught up to its sister. Sowed some cover crop seeds and laid down a straw mulch layer as well.

Seeds soaked for 8 hours then placed into seed starting cubes. I won't use those again though because it feels like they hugged the seeds too tightly and prevented one of them from getting the taproot down and out quickly. Two of three seeds popped. 30 gallon fabric pots with Build-A-Soil 3.0 Mix living soil. During the seedling week I top dressed / watered in with Build-A-Soil's "Build-A-Flower", Build-A-Soil's "Nutrient Mix", Organics Alive "V-Micro 7", Organics Alive "V-Cal 15", and Roots Organics "Rain" wetting agent. Added about a dozen Red Wiggler worms to each pot, sowed Build-A-Soil's cover crop seeds, and added straw mulch layer on the top. The pots are setup on tray-and-wick irrigation bases, but I plan to mostly water over the top so I can add various nutrient solutions appropriate for living soils. One plant, "Plant A", sprouted on Sep 22 and is doing much better than the other, even though Plant B sprouted a week earlier on Sep 15. I believe this had to do with the cubes I started the seeds in. Essentially I think the seed was planted "upside down" so the taproot had to correct itself and make a turn downward, and because the cubes were a dense, tight material the taproot had a hard time getting out into the actual soil where the nutrients are. I believe this stunted the growth of Plant B. Because Plant A is so healthy, and seems to be developmentally a couple weeks ahead of Plant B, I went ahead and topped Plant A on Oct 09 (17 days since sprout) and began LST for mainlining. Now all that remains is the material at the third node - everything above and below has been removed. I figured even if this action stunts Plant A a little bit, it will just serve to bring them back into line developmentally. Hopefully the decision to do this to such a small plant wasn't a mistake...

Was this the week I topped Plant B for the first time? Need to double check if this is accurate or not. Anyway, I can tell from the pics that both plants are topped now and training has begun.

I don't actually have any pics from this week of veg, added one from the prior week. Just continued training the branches down on both plants to prepare for the next topping.

This week I started clones when I topped Plants A and B. Just want to make sure I can recreate these plants if the end result ends up being good.

We're now 6+ weeks into veg, and although I'm stressing them by topping and training their branches, I'm a bit surprised they are not growing taller. I've now topped Plant A three times and Plant B twice. The fan leaves are big and wide, but also low and making contact with the soil in some places. This makes me a bit nervous. I've accidentally cracked or snapped the main stem on each plant when training the branches, but just repaired with a little dab of super glue, and some athletic or gaffers tape to pull it back tight for a day or two. Seems to work fine. Also, what's up with LST clips? Why do they all have to be so extreme in their bends? I'm getting frustrated with them, I like wire better a lot of times. At any rate, the plants look SUPER healthy and I'm happy. Plant A definitely seems to have more vigor and bounces back from topping and training more quickly than Plant B. I'm done topping Plant A now, Plant B will be topped once more.

Added a second AC Infinity ionboard S24 so now each plant has their own light. Continued pulling and rooting clones of each plant. Some clones are in Solo Cups, others still in the clone dome. Some light defoliation throughout the week. Continued training for mainline. Plants are staying very short, which is a surprise.

Continued some defoliation and mainline training. Realizing they aren't going to get any taller, so preparing to switch to 12/12 for flower. Added some pre-flower nutrients. Flipped to flower 12/12 cycle on Nov 20. Clones in the Solo Cups because I don't have any other room for them. Will just flower them in the cups because I have other younger clones in the clone dome that I'll try to keep alive in there in veg 18/6. I didn't remove any of the main or secondary colas, but knowing what I know now I probably should have.

Flipped to flower 12/12 on Nov 20. No other activities while they adjust. Added ScrOG net anticipating stretch. Spoiler alert, not much stretch happened. Preflower vegetation is visible.

Second week of 12/12. I usually consider this to be the "start of flower" and count days from here. Pre-flower vegetation is visible. Some defoliation to begin lollipopping the branches. Feeding some nutrients for flower. A few ounces of Build-A-Soil Craft Blend top dress per plant. Organics Alive V-Cal 15 and V-Micro about 1.5 ml/gal per gallon of water per plant. Hydroponic Research +Life about 1 gram per gallon of water per plant.

Heavy defoliation and lollipopping. Terps smelling like delicious Fruity Pebbles. Fan leaves starting to look more sativa-ish versus the wide indica-looking ones that were present during veg. Clones hanging out in Solo Cups. Moving along really well. Very happy with this so far. Some random culinary herbs in Solo cups in the tent as well.

Feeding about every other week now. This fresh Build-A-Soil 3.0 should have plenty of nutrients so don't want to over-do it. No more defoliation. Just watching the girls grow and flower. Starting to see some nice looking buds and lots of thin leaves. The tent is filling out and the Solo cup clones are starting to get crowded out.

Dec 22-28. Flowering, tent is really getting full, although no real stretch. Seems as though they are going to be short girls. Drinking a lot of water, about 1 gallon per plant per day.

Week 6 of flower. Dec 29-Jan 04. Drinking 1 gallon of water per plant per day. Only feeding once every 4 weeks. Purple showing up on Plant A. Plant B is staying green. Clone cups got dried out a bit so some of them seem like they might be dead-ish. I'll try to nurse them back.

Week 7 of flower. Jan 05-Jan 11. Drinking 1 gallon of water per plant per day. Only feeding once every 4 weeks. Purple showing up on Plant A. Plant B is staying green. The clones of Plant A in Solo cups that got too dry over the holidays are very purple. Added AC Infinity supplemental bar lights to the under-canopies. The clones that dried out bad a week or two ago aren't showing signs of life again so I chopped a couple and threw them in the Cannatrol. Trichomes aren't showing anything other than clear though, so unlikely they'll be any good.

Week 8 of Flower. Jan 12-Jan 18. Trichomes still all clear. Buds on Plant A are dense and have lots of purple. Haven't fed again. Don't plan to feed nutrients again. Buds on Plant B are bigger, but not as dense and all green. Don't think we'll see any purple on this plant. Now running AC Infinity AI controller.
