Back in the game and prepping till seeds arrive! Lights Trying some new things out this round. First off, I'm switching from MH/HPS's to LEDs to maximize efficiency of energy. I loved the MH/HPS's but they produce a lot of heat, take up more space, and need to be replaced to maintain correct light emission. Soil I'm still rocking the foxfarm's froggy frog and ocean forest. I use a nutritional gradient to help pull the roots down. I typically use froggy frog for the top 2 to 3 inches of soil followed by a 4:1 ratio of froggy frog:ocean forest fro the next 4 inches, then 2:1 ratio of froggy frog: ocean forest for the next 4 inches, then 1:1 ratio and then just straight ocean forest. I lightly mix the top of the previous layer with the beginning of the new layer as I'm going to maintain a consistent gradient. The less nutrient dense (hot) soil is better for the seedlings and will be replenished with organic fertilizers when she's bigger. Additives Added about 1.5 to 2 quarts of perlite for the first time to keep the soil even lighter. Calcium carbonate: about 2 tbs per grow bag. Real growers recharge to create an optimal biological habitat for the roots I'll also be including a CO2 system for the first time to further promote growth, but not until week 2 when she has more leaves to utilize the CO2 Day 1 (1/16/2019)

She is way ahead of the Blue dream. This round reminds me of the Tangie and Pineapple Express round I did last year. I stunted their growth a bit by having the light accidentally drop to about 16 inches above the plant tops. These girls will most likely remain small but I am cool with it. It just goes to show the importance of light distance on plant size and internodal spacing. Sometimes you look for the experiments and other times the experiments find you. I am interested to see how they both respond to increased light distance and a feed this week.

Started some leaf-tucking this week with the the West Coast OG. Side branches are responding well. I am skipping pony-tailing this round secondary to the light distance mishap. I dont even care that I stunted them, I'm just super excited to be back in the growing game.

She is starting to show slight signs of preflower so she'll either jump into flower during week 5 or stretch to week 6. I accidentally ripped a fan leaf off this week while leaf-tucking and will be bending her over to the opposite side later today to completely expose the side branches. If she responds well that accident might become habit. ALWAYS experimenting. She gained another 4 inches this week following last weeks feed and raising of the light fixture. I'll be adding CO2 this week to give them a bit of a boost from late vegetation to flower. I don't like the idea of adding CO2 in the very beginning because I find it to be a bit of a waste when there aren't enough leaves (minimal surface area for CO2 absorption) to maximize intake of CO2 and photosynthesis. I occasionally work from home and will just spend time in the room increasing the CO2 from my own respiration, YOU the grower really are the least expensive instant CO2 boost to your plants aka spend time with them.

Okay this girl got bent over at he beginning of this week to maximize sunlight to her side branches and create an even canopy going into flower. She would be about 20 inches tall standing straight up. She is just entering preflower now and should be stretching and creating bud-sites this week. I'm looking forward to her take-off.

Okay so the West Coast OG has officially started to flower. She go her stretch on this week and has been adding a lot of bud sites. She added 6.5 inches this week so she'd be about 24 inches if I didnt LST. Her side branches have stretched even more than the main cola setting her up for an almost even canopy. I'm probably gonna drop the temps about 5 degrees to promote density/color of buds once her stretch slows down.

She is starting to get real pretty. She got some more defoliation and will likely be her last round except the final fan leaves that grow towards her middle blocking light/wind penetration to the other colas. SHe is starting to get a smell to her but I would still describe it as weak. No carbon filter needed at this point. I will be purchasing a grow tent and carbon filter soon as new seeds are coming in :). I didn't give her any nutrients other than Realgrowers Recharge to allow her to soak up any nutrients that may be building up in the soil, before she gets his with some more flower nutes next week.

Hey there!! I can personally recommend Sun Hut. they make some great tents, reasonable price great quality I love mine!! Also can recommend Home box I have both of them and they are great not to sure on the price of Home box it got a deal on it because I bought it from a friend and it had no frame but the tent material is top notch I think it's better than Gorilla's quality . Gorilla is another top brand name tent but can be pricey I have not used one personally myself but have seen their quality and it is good. There is so many Tent companies out there now and if you look around you will notice that a lot of them look to be made by the same manufacturer so definitely do some searching as you will most likely be able to find the same tent for many different prices. As for carbon filters Active air is a great company for them they have great prices and good quality.Another couple reasonable priced and good quality brands of filter is Phat and Atmosphere ProFilter. all three of those companies are fairly close in price but the Profilter from Atmosphere has ones that are in the higher of the price range. Hope this can help you out! Happy Growing!!😎👊

I fed her once more. This will probably be her last feed prior to just a slow natural transition into flush. She'll probably ride these nutrients out for the next 2 weeks and then flush for the following 1-2 weeks. She is really pouring on the frost and getting stinky. I ordered a grow tent to contain the smell and will be purchasing a carbon filter soon. I haven't quite figured out her terpene smell yet but it's kinda beachy. She's starting to look to foine for just pictures.

OMG this girl REEKS. The plant smells like rotting meat but the buds smell beachy with a fruity pebble undertone to them. Definitely investing in a carbon filter for this one. I'm switching to just pH'd water for the next week or 2 before I start a nice long flush. I think she has about 3 to 4 weeks left. Getting rid of some chlorophyll will hopefully calm her smell down too. She is fattening/ frosting up nicely looking beautiful.

We have reached Day 70 and she is still going very strong. Her smell has mellowed out from stinky feet/ rotting meat to a more cannabis like smell haha. I think the flush is helping get rid of some of that chlorophyll. She'll be flushed for the remainder of her life, should be getting a hint of some colors next week.

She kind of stalled out on me this week. I think the thicker soil and flush last week deoxygenated her roots but now that the soil is drying out I see a bunch more white hairs starting to poke through so she’s got some work to do. I’m gonna flush her Friday or Saturday of this week and let her enjoy some drought time and then hitter with some recharge following the flush. Recharge won’t do anything besides maintain roof health at this point which is all I want. No water or nutrients given this week.

Flush is going well and now we're just waiting on the the trichomes to completely turn milky with 5% amber. I'll just keep flushing her even though she is showing some newer fattening growth.

Okay so she has been removed from the tent as she is fully done her flush and will spend the next 48 hours in darkness to burn up any sugars left in her to improve the quality/smoothness of the smoke. She will be harvested on Day 91 Cure started in 1 quart sized jar on 4/27/2019 after 3 days of hang drying. So far she smells like green tea but once that chlorophyll is broken down I think she's gonna have that pure fruity, piney, beachy smell to her.
