Well this is the first time I have ever grown so any advice is welcome and appreciated. Soil is Promix HP with added perlite and water is R.O. with added CalMag. The light I'm using is an Optic LED, Optic6 3rd gen.
Hmm, noticed plant 3 has 3-4 fan leaves with mild burns to tips. I may back off the nutes a little in the next week. PH is dead on at 6.5 this week. I will do some LST this week as well.
Due to a few burnt tips, nutes only given once this week. The girls are doing well and appear to be filling out nicely. A couple more weeks and I may move them into flower. I will see how training is going and how they are doing first.
Not much increase in height but they are filling in nicely. Some defoliation was done this week and they are pretty stressed. I'll post a pic after they bounce back.
This was a stressful week and the girls stressed all week after a heavy defoliation. They are starting to bounce back but I saw little growth this week. Plant 2 (bottom right) still has alot if droop and almost no growth. I know they look over watered but they are dry as a bone. I'm feeding today and see how they do after. I was considering a transition to flower at week 8 but dont feel they are ready yet.
Well, the girls are still overcoming some stress from the defoliation... I think? I'm new to all this and find myself re-reading everything online I can find. I can't believe these 4 are all WW and I treated them exactly the same till 'bout week 6. Goes to show you how much phenotypes can differ. They really didn't look good last week and I realized the Optic 6 was burning them. I moved it up and noticed improvements. I overestimated this light. As usual I'll add occasional updates. If anybody has any tips, I'm all ears.
Well as expected we had some stretching and the girls appear healthy and happy. Some lower leaves not getting light have fallen off and I've replaced the net to try to spread my canopy out.
A little more stretch this week and flowers are starting to form nicely. I also decided to add a CO2 supply to the tent as well. We will have to wait and see how it goes.
This was a rough week. Plant #4 went into nute lock-out and I had to give her a heavy flush. My PH run-off went from 5.8 to 6.5. and 1300ppm to the 500ppm that I feed her. All 4 have been yellowing bottom leaves and I went through them all and cleaned them up best I could to let light pass through better. The buds are starting to get frosty and are getting bigger every day.
Looks like I'm still getting a few yellowing leaves but it has slowed right down. The buds are getting much bigger but we have a way to go still. I decided to try making some homemade CO2 with a couple 2 liter bottles and adding more sugar water to the yeast solution from the enhancer. I then replaced the Enhancer bottle with a refill pack. Hopefully this helps. *Day 106 I did some more LST to spread out the canopy a little more as I dont think I'll be adding the scrog net unless I'm lucky enough to get such big buds they need to be held up. Stems are really thick so I doubt it will be needed.
Well, not alot of growth really. It seems buds are getting bigger but plants aren't getting bigger. I still notice some yellowing of lower leaves and plant 4 is still struggling. It may be just poor genetics as the 3 others are just fine and buds are twice the size. It's my first grow so who knows.
These buds are getting very frosty and they are a nice size now. I'm simply waiting for tricomes to mature at this point. Most have gone cloudy but not much amber yet. I will likely make this my last week for nutrients and do the final 2 weeks without to flush. I'll try to snap some pictures of tricomes but might be difficult with my loop. *Update: I added a couple shots of tricomes of a couple more mature buds.
I started my flush this week and expect I should be working on my last 10-14 days. The buds are starting to get heavy and some branches are starting to sag over the weight. I will continue to try to get pictures with the loop of tricomes. I'm just going to use RO water for the flush but Ph'd to 6.5.
*Update: Buds are maturing very fast now and I may harvest in the next 5-6 days if this keeps up.
Well, looks like we are going another week or so. Tricomes are mostely cloudy and starting to see some amber coming in. For me and my use, I need more mature buds for sleep so gonna let them go one more week. They are not getting any bigger now so feel free to let your estimation of final weight be known. I am hoping for a half pound between the 4 plants but time will tell and because this is my first attempt at a grow, what do I know LOL. I'm still only flushing with water so leaves are yellowing as expected.
Looks like I meet my 1/2 pound goal. The final dry weight was 245 grams. I have ordered a press and am curious how the resin comes out. I also was able to harvest an oz of tricome rich trimmings and intend to put that into coconut oil. All in all a success and I still have one clone (taken from plant 4 just before going to flower) and plants number 2 and 3 were left with around 7 grams of buds total on them to try to regenerate. That's the last picture posted.00000
