Started the growing process using a damp kitchen towel folding twice, placing one seed inside folded and put in a plastic sandwich bag.
Repeated the process with second seed.
Placed in boiler cupboard to maintain warmth.
Broke through after 2 days.
Potted into seedling containers using ecothrive lite 70% Coco Coir 30% 1% charge.
Watered through with tap water and used a plastic sandwich bag as a dome for the next 4 days
Had been so busy trying to keep an eye on humidity I didn't notice the temp had become too high for the Apple Jack.
Placed the light higher from 21 to 24 inches and placed the Strawberry Lemonade higher as it was doing well with the light.
Keeping tent open to let in fresh air in as I didn't want to start the fan and reduce the humidity.
Next time I will buy a humidifier for now wetting a microfiber towel 3 times a day and hanging on back bar.
Humidity between 65-79% can get down to 55,% before re-wetting towel.
Temp staying steady at 25-27°c
Second feed of nutes in 1/4L room temp tap water.
0.2ml Canna Coco A
0.2ml Canna Coco B
0.4ml Canna Rhizotonic
1ml pH Down
Using a small desk fan to help air movement.
And I thought this was going to be easy!
Turns out I had over watered the substrate on the Strawberry Lemonade causing it to droop.
Didn't know Coco could be over watered. Lesson learned!
Left it to dry as long as I could as leaves were turning yellow. (Concerns of nitrogen deficiency) syringed the top of the soil without any run off.
Done the same with the Apple Jack which has been doing well but also quite light in colour.
Next feed I will increase nutrients.
Bought a new oscillating clip on fan from Amazon which is super quiet.
Strawberry lemonade leaves stopped dropping.
Apple Jack canoing. 🤦 Had decided the previous day to put at same height as Strawberry Lemonade as it was stretching more. Apple Jack was not happy about that.
Noticed roots had started showing through drainage holes for the last few days. As well as leaves stretching past pot circumference and reduced growth. Decided time for a repot.
Filled 2 8L fabric pot with Ecothrive lite 1% charge with extra sprinkle of perlite at bottom. Crushing any hard bits and making sure not to compress. Made a hole for the plants and removed gently avoiding touching the roots and popped it straight in the hole. (Roots had started bounding but luckily not too bad.)
Increased nutes by 3x of 0.7ml to 1/4l water using canna Coco A+B and Rhizotonic.
Added PH down 1ml to 1/4l
(Currently using a fish tank low pH tester
Seems to work for now.)
Adjusted light level to accommodate pots at 23"
