So it’s gonna be my first indoor after long long time. I built a box from an old cupboard with the following dimensions :
Height:160
Width: 110
Depth: 60
I am using a 250 w MH for the vegetation and a 250 Sylvania for flowering. Maybe I will boost it with a small LED.
I am going to use living soil:
As a base Plagron Promix and I ammend it with Mycoterra F1 Supersoil mix. Using only mycoterra inputs.
I am really curious of this productline.
Second week was a struggle. They stopped growing and cotyledons turned yellow. In my opinion because of the combination of too low ec soilmix (plagron pro) and pH problem.
That’s why I decided to transplant them into their final pot and soilmix (Plagron Promix + perlit + Mycoterra F1 Supersoil amendment + Mycoterra Kraken MG).
I think they are over it now.
Testing the Blumat system which seems to be working so far.
Now they look good. Very different physiology as you can see. I apploed the 3rd product of Mycoterra: Quimera, a trichoderma harzianum based protection against pathogens.
I have changed my old hps lamp to a new CMH: Lumatek electronic ballast + Lumatek 315w 3100K bulb + Lumatek Tekken Pro MIRO reflector.
I decided to use CMH for different reasons :
1. As the growroom is in a cold room I need some extra heat.
2. Even though i didn’t find scientific research in this topic but plants grown under a CMH are said to produce the highest amount of terpenes, and I am more concerned about the quality of the weed I harvest then about the quantity.
3. CMH has a spectrum that only very expensive LEDs can compete with.
4. I don’t grow so much indoor so difference in efficiency (PAR/ watts) did not convince me to buy a LED fixture.
A week full of struggle but it’s a new set up, new experiment so I am not somworried about it.
The first trouble (leaves curling down, purple stems) that looked like magnesium deficiency or overwatering was -imho- due to low humidity. Since the CMH light is on temperature went up, RH dropped to 30 %.
So I installed a humidifier, but I needed few days to get it. And I also put the light higher.
By now they look much better, even though after trimming them (creating a manifold) Grape Juice produced some strange signs:
The 2 big fan leaves she had turned upside down for a day and some yellowish spots appeared on them.
All in all I think they are doing well. My first time to do mainlining, so I am really curious about the outcome. I am planning to do the “Nebula way”, so two cuts, eight colas.
Hmmm. Lemon tree is still in bad shape. I think it might be due to the stress of the trim added to the deficiencies low humidity caused. She was smaller and took the treatment badly.
Finally the humidity is fixed : moving between 49 and 75. Grape Juice can be trimed a second time in 2-3 days.
Update: GJ trimmed for the 2nd time
Grape Juice is growing nearly as fast as a healthy plant, but her look is still not convincing me (dropping leaves)
Lemon tree 2 is still quite stressed. I assume I trimmed her in a bad moment.
Update: Slowly slowly they are getting better. Tried to give them a bigger dryback.
Then watered LT with Mycofeed GJ with Quimera. I thinking on letting them one, max two weeks of veg.
Finally the environmental factors are nearly ideal: VPD is moving between 0.4 and 1.4 but mostly 0.9 and 1.2.
Lemon tree has finally healed and she is starting to show her beauty.
I think next week we gonna switch to flowering.
It’s a very resistant plant. I have had a few tough grows in the last 2 years. When I planted this strain, it always proved its strength and resiliance. One could say it is a poor harvest but i am satisfied. The quantity is due to a not properly optimized new system full of “first times”:
First indoor in nearly two decades so a
first time groowroom
First time trying blumat drip system
First time trying living soil
First time using Mycoterra product line.
Quality of these buds seems to be premium.
Even the popcorn buds look fantastic. Looking forward to try them out.
The end of a long long journey with this lady. She has been struggling due to various factors, but in the end the result looks surprisingly good: buds covered with trichomes, smellimg sweet and fruity.
