Welcome to my first ever Living Soil Organic (LSO) grow. The aim of this grow is to successfully germinate and grow four Garden of Green Green Crack seeds. Once they have been harvested the best pheno type will be selected as a mother to take clones from for the following grow. I will be using 200L of Easy as Organics Living Soil (8x 25L bags). This will go inside a 3x3 Grass Roots Living Soil Bed. This bed will be a low/no till bed that will be used for all my LSO grows moving forward. I will be using all organic and local nutrients/dry amendments from High Powered Organics and Easy as Organics. EQUIPMENT 120X120x200 Budbox White Grow Tent Spiderfarmer SF-4000 LED Grow Light 10" Filteroo Carbon Filter 10" Gro Fan 10" Fan Silencer from Can filters MEDIUM, NUTRIENTS & DRY AMENDMENTS 200L Easy as Organics Living Soil 6L Alfa-Mulch for mulch layer 3L High-Powr high quality humic Compost 15 dry amendments for top dressing, teas and targeting future deficiencies. The plan with the dry amendments is to make my own version of BuildASoil's "Craft Blend" by mixing all of them in an even ratio as best to match the original recipe. Will get into more detail on this in the coming weeks and at the first top dressing. Now onto the commencement of our grow and new diary, starting with the Germination of our 4 seeds! Pre-Germination - 1/11/24 - Placed all 4 seeds in a warm glass of water to soak for 24 hours. All 4 seeds sank to the bottom. Germination Day 0: 2/11/24 - Planted all 4 seeds directly into wet substrate inside solo cups. Watered all 4 cups with minimal run off. Now we wait for germination. Germination Day 1: 3/11/24 - Heat mat is set to 25c. No seed movement as expected, all 4 cups still moist. No water required at this stage. Will check back in tomorrow! Germination Day 2: 4/11/24 - Seed tray is still fully covered to maximise humidity, will crack it as soon as these things start germinating. No water required at this stage. Soil is still moist. I'm very afraid of overwatering these seeds so I'm trying my best to not water them unless they are starting to dry out. Each day that goes by I get worried that these are not gonna germinate. Fingers crossed I just need to be patient. Germination Day 3: 5/11/24 - Same story, different day. They got a light drink today just keep it moist and humid and I thought they could benefit from some fresh air so I have opened up the hood on one side. Still not one seed has popped but I'm not worried yet. Germination Day 4: 6/11/24 - Starting to get worried, maybe they didn't need water yesterday. I have removed the seed tray lid and hopefully the increased airflow will help them dry out and germinate. Stay tuned, this diary may be done before it begins. Germination Day 5: 7/11/24 - No seeds are coming to the surface. :/ This is not my first grow and it's not my first time germinating seeds. I used to go with the paper towel method but found really good success soaking seeds and then planting into pH soaked rockwool cubes. I assumed I would have the same success, I'm 2 days away from digging these up. Last updated: 7/11/24
