Mthf42 In the middle of the second flowering week, bud sites are already clearly visible. Over the last few days, the plants have gained about 2 cm in height each day. They have a bushy growth, and I have to regularly remove leaves.

Mthf42 the plants are diligently reaching upwards, fertilizing is done once a week, the watering amount is slowly increasing, the dehumidifier continues to do its good work, the small heater sometimes acts up a bit, the RLF sensor for the fan control isn't really reliable

Mthf42 First, I started building a propagation box. The last few days, the outside temperatures have dropped below 0, which meant it got colder in the basement too. Probably too cold, the little heater in the grow tent couldn't keep up and shut off. It got too cold, and the humidity rose to 90%. As a result, the sensor of the hygrometer outlet, which is supposed to control the fan, couldn't handle it anymore. The climate in the tent was no longer under control. The control of the fan and tent heater had to be adjusted for the interplay of room temperature, tent temperature, and humidity in the tent. Somehow, that's still not working properly. To avoid such problems in the future, I want to carry out the propagation, including veg, in a more climate-friendly environment. To make heating less of a hassle, a better-insulated solution is needed. The box is made from 18mm thick OSB boards. For thermal insulation and light reflection, a Styrofoam sheet covered with aluminum will be applied inside. The little heater should be enough for heating. The issue with exhaust and thus the discharge of humidity is still not resolved. We will see.

Mthf42 I had thought that a flowering time of eight weeks or more would be calm and rather boring. But in the third week, the plants have developed well, the buds are getting bigger, and trichomes are already plentiful. The tent shares the Purple Bud with Wedding Cheesecake, White Skunk, and X-Haze. The weekend was relaxed, and this little broken side branch sparked further curiosity. How quickly might the drying go? How much will be left in the end? What does the stem weigh? Well, while trimming little leaf tips, I noticed how sticky everything was. Over the past few days, I refreshed my knowledge about vaporizers. The idea quickly came up to test the current result. Far before proper drying, let alone the actual harvest date around Christmas, so actually way too early. Said and done, a tiny amount in the Äris from Wolkenkraft, set to 170 degrees, and took a hit. That was initially not interesting; there was no talk of a pleasant taste. I then tried a few hits at 180 and 190, and I think even at 200 degrees. A couple of slow and long hits with a bit of holding back in the lungs showed effects very quickly. First, my tongue felt heavy, and a cough reflex kicked in. It quickly became clear that more effects were coming, so I stopped and laid down on the couch, covered myself, and enjoyed a very pleasant psychedelic high. I didn't expect that given the still young material and the very small amount. It was definitely a stoned, couch-lock experience. After maybe half an hour of lively fantasies, I fell asleep for two hours. The conclusion of the first lesson is to not plan anything for the next few hours while enjoying this strain, exclude all stress factors, and definitely do not drive. I am mighty impressed.

Mthf42 According to the seller, there are still three weeks until the harvest. I'm curious to see how much they will still gain.

Mthf42 We're slowly getting into the final phase, and I'm very satisfied with my results so far. It has been exciting and a bit challenging, especially because of my growing space, which is a basement. I live in an old building, and we have a rather humid region here in the northwest of Germany. But after some experimenting, I managed to control both temperature and humidity with a dehumidifier and a small heater. The humidity was my biggest challenge since it was always too high. It was also the reason I preferred to water smaller amounts, so I had to water almost daily. The temperature, or rather the cold, was initially only a problem when the lights were off. A small temperature-controlled fan saved me there. At first, I had all eight plants in one tent, and the lights were two lamps. The temperature would sometimes rise to 29 degrees Celsius. After I moved three plants to a smaller tent, the issue with the higher temperature was solved. Another advantage was the easier handling of the plants. For me, an important realization is that in the future, I won't pack the tents so full when I want the plants to grow out. Many plants in a small space can be managed with a screen of green. I’ll also try that with cuttings I’ve made myself. I allowed myself to "harvest" and taste more buds on December 13th and 20th after my little accident on December 6th. I'm somewhat surprised and satisfied with the effect. Let's see how it goes in the coming weeks when the harvest is properly dried and well-ripened. I will probably take an unconventional approach regarding the ripening. I don't want to set up more equipment. The tent is already planned for the next grow, and I also don't want to hang the plants in one piece in the basement. Again, it's the mold that I fear. Therefore, I prefer the wet trim. Next year, when I grow outdoors, I can move the drying into the tent in the basement with the carbon filter. Since I don't want to buy a second filter, I have to experiment now, and I'll probably do it like this: - separate all buds from the stem - defoliate (sugar leaves go into a bag and are frozen; if I have a lot of time and motivation, I might try making hash, otherwise, I’ll use them for edibles) - I’ll also freeze most of the buds - I’ll dry small portions in jars in the apartment, breaking the buds into small pieces and separating the stems. I’m aware that with the rather short, quick drying phase, I have to accept a loss in quality. (But you can't have everything at once; I'm also prepared for the next harvest) PS: The attentive reader might wonder how I operate two tents with one carbon filter. Well, I designed a "closed" system. The large and small tents are connected by two exhaust hoses. A small duct fan blows the air from the small tent into the large one, where the carbon filter runs. The exhaust from the filter then goes back into the small tent. This way, both tents are supplied with equally warm air since I only have one heater. The dehumidifier is also in the large tent, so the humidity is kept low for both tents.

You could try drying your wet trim in dry herb bags. It worked really well for me.
