Black Muffin by Sweet Seeds – Week 1 in the 250-Liter Paradise Here we go! On December 1st, the Black Muffin by Sweet Seeds officially moved into my 250-liter living soil bed from Sonnenerde. This isn’t just any bed—it’s a 5-star resort for soil life, complete with premium living soil, a cozy layer of mulch, and some hardworking worms chilling in their fancy new "WormVase" from Wurmkiste.at. Then came the big moment: on December 6th, the first little seedling popped up! I’m pretty sure it smiled at me—or maybe that was just my excitement talking. Now, it’s all about keeping the soil hydrated and the worms happy—basically, the full VIP treatment for my Black Muffin. I can’t wait to see how this little one grows. Stay tuned; this is going to be a fun ride! 🌱😄

Black Muffin by Sweet Seeds – Week 1 in the Growth Phase It’s official—the Black Muffin is on her way! 🌱 After a successful germination, she’s now settling into her new home, the 250-liter living soil bed from Sonnenerde, and showing the first signs of real growth. The environment is tailored for perfection: premium living soil packed with nutrients, a nice layer of mulch keeping everything cozy, and my trusty WormVase crew from Wurmkiste.at working hard beneath the surface. This bed is buzzing with life, and the Black Muffin seems to love it already. She’s stretching her first little leaves toward the light, and I’m keeping her on a steady hydration routine to ensure she stays happy. So far, she’s growing strong and looking healthy—exactly what you want to see in the early growth phase. Excitement levels are high for this one! Let’s see what the next week brings. 🌿✨

Black Muffin by Sweet Seeds – Week 2 in the Growth Phase Week 2 is done, and the Black Muffin is thriving! 🌱 She’s loving the 250-liter living soil bed. I realized I could’ve given her more light from the start, as she stretched a little early on. But now she’s got the right intensity, and she’s bouncing back beautifully. Her leaves are looking strong and healthy, and her roots are digging deep. Can’t wait to see what Week 3 brings! 🌿💡

Black Muffin by Sweet Seeds – Week 3 in the Growth Phase Week 3 is here, and the Black Muffin is growing strong! 🌱 She’s made great progress, and overall, she looks healthy and vibrant. At the end of Week 2, I noticed some light spots on a few leaves, but they don’t seem to be affecting her growth. I’m keeping an eye on it, but she’s still pushing out new leaves and developing well. Excited to see her continue to grow. Let’s see what Week 4 has in store! 🌿

Black Muffin by Sweet Seeds – Week 4 in the Growth Phase Week 4 is done, and the Black Muffin is thriving! 🌱 She’s showing steady growth, with new leaves filling out and her structure looking stronger each day. This week, I measured the pH of my reverse osmosis water and found it to be 5.7. Ideally, the pH should be between 6 and 7, but the microorganisms and the living soil bed are great at self-regulating, so I’m confident it will balance out naturally. I also increased the light intensity to 400 PPFD, which seems to be helping her development. The light spots from earlier are still a mystery, but they haven’t spread, and the plant seems unaffected, growing beautifully regardless. The worms in the bed remain super active, happily munching on banana peels and doing their part to keep the soil lively. Everything seems to be progressing well, and I’m excited to see how she continues in Week 5! 🍌

Black Muffin by Sweet Seeds – Week 5 in the Growth Phase The Black Muffin is doing fantastic in Week 5! She’s getting some training to help her grow even stronger. I’m carefully bending her thick side branches downward and gently tucking the large fan leaves under them. This way, the side branches get more light and can develop their own leaf mass to support themselves. I’m aiming to keep as many fan leaves as possible during the vegetative phase, removing only what’s absolutely necessary. She’s so bushy and compact, and her structure is really impressive. Plus, her aroma is starting to come through — she smells absolutely delightful when you touch her. Excited to see what she’ll look like next week!

Week 6 Update - Black Muffin Grow Diary The Black Muffin continues to impress in Week 6! Her side branches have grown even thicker and stronger, responding well to the training. I’m still carefully tucking the larger fan leaves under the side branches to ensure they get maximum light. Many of the side branches now have enough leaf mass to support themselves, but I’m staying mindful to keep as many fan leaves as possible during this stage to optimize her growth. She remains incredibly bushy and compact, with a structure that makes her stand out in the tent. Her aroma is becoming more pronounced — every time I brush against her, that delightful scent gets stronger. She’s definitely gearing up for something special. Can’t wait to see her flourish as we move closer to the next phase. Peace

Week 7 Update - Black Muffin Grow Diary This week marked a big transition for the Black Muffin! I gradually reduced the light cycle by about an hour each day, and after five days, she was fully switched to 12 hours of light. She’s now officially in the flowering phase! During defoliation, I noticed how incredibly sticky she’s already getting—my hands were covered in resin. On top of that, she’s releasing a strong, rich aroma that fills the space. She’s really taking over the grow area, now covering more than half of the bed. With all this explosive growth, she’s also drinking a lot more water. Exciting times ahead as she starts focusing on bud production. Can’t wait to see how she develops in the next weeks!

Week 8 - The Monsta! The Black Muffin has officially taken over more than half of the bed, growing stronger and bushier each day. To keep her energy focused on bud production, I’ve been gradually removing more lower side branches, shaping her into a proper lollipop structure. For the upper branches, I’m using a technique where I gently twist them between my fingers until they slightly crack, then carefully bend them down. This helps control vertical growth and encourages thicker, stronger buds. Despite all the training, she’s handling it like a champ! She’s also drinking a lot—right now, I’m giving her 5 liters of water every two days. With her intense growth and strong aroma filling the space, she’s definitely getting ready for a big bloom phase. Exciting weeks ahead!

Week 9 Update - Black Muffin It’s Friday again, which means it’s time for another update! The Black Muffin is fully focused on bud development now, and you can really see the progress. She’s putting all her energy into building those buds, and I can’t wait to see how she continues to shape up in the coming weeks. 😍 The Super Cropping was definitely the right choice—she handled it well and is growing strong. However, I did notice some purple discoloration on the stems of the fan leaves, which suggests a bit of stress. Luckily, she’s adapting well and isn’t showing any signs of weakness. A huge shoutout to Sonnenerde, Sweet Seeds, Wurmkiste.at, and MMN Tech Support for their support! PEACE

Aloha Friends ☀️ the bud and trichome production have kicked into overdrive this week! She’s pushing out more resin every day, and her aroma is becoming even stronger—every touch releases an intense, rich scent. Last week, it was already clear that she carries dark genetics, but now the colors have deepened even more. The buds are darkening quickly, giving her an impressive and unique appearance. Along with the color change, she’s packing on frost, with trichomes covering the buds and surrounding leaves. With her energy fully focused on flowering, she’s making serious progress. The next few weeks are going to be exciting as she continues to stack and ripen! PEACE

The Black Muffin is thriving! Her buds are getting bigger by the day, stacking up beautifully, and her aroma is becoming even more intense. Every time I check on her, the scent gets stronger—she’s really starting to show her full potential. However, while she looks stunning overall, some might notice a deficiency or even a lockout issue developing in the middle section. Yesterday, I had to remove one branch because it had completely died off. In total, about four branches are affected, but for now, I’m leaving the remaining ones to observe how things progress. It’s a strange situation since the rest of the plant looks perfectly healthy. I’ve never seen anything quite like this before, so I’m analyzing possible causes. Could it be an imbalance in nutrients, water uptake, or something else? Time to troubleshoot and make sure she finishes strong! Peace ✌️
