I used the "Paper Towel Method" to pop the tap-root. it was placed in the bag at exactly 2:10 PM on December 1st and the tap-root popped on December 3rd. on the 3rd i had actually planted the germinating seed into soil and it didnt pop through the soil until December 6th.
the seed membrane got stuck on the cotyledon leaves and i didn't know i was supposed to remove it. I thought it would handle it on its own, it took me two days to learn i need to remove it and it seems to have recovered now... But it definitely almost died from the stress and its growth seems to have been stunted by the whole fiasco.
She seems to be doing much better after the frass tea i brewed for her. shed producing some deformed leaves so i am lowering the light intensity i was at 200 par at 35% power and it seems to be too much, im at 30% power now and its around 160 par at 26" distance and even that seems like too much on her still. however i am happy that the light frass tea i brewed for her with frass i produced on my own seemed to have helped a fair bit!
December 29th - I flushed this watering. the PPM was starting to get close to 1000 on the runoff. i also had my clip fan too close and the top sides of the leaf stems started turning purple so i moved the fan further away. also noticed curling edges around the leaves so i knew it was getting cold since it wasn't an "isolated symptom diagnosis" and i must say, she seemed to enjoy the flush.
things are moving, but moving slowly since i flushed to drop the ppm from above 1200. defoliated because a lot of energy was going to the bottom of the plant that wasnt getting light, didnt want it wasting energy on parts that were gonna get defoliated anyways. will be topping soon. but i want to get it sorted from its slow growth before i top.
Her growth still seems stunted since the flush i did a bit over a week ago now. still no discoloration in the leaves, she's just growing at a snail's pace now.🤷♂️
