Girl Scout Cookies Auto & Banana Blaze Auto - My First Grow Alone
Being my first method, I was a bit unsure about the success of this attempt.
Procedure:
Seed Preparation:
On 24/12/2024,
- I placed the 2 seeds between 2 paper towels.
Hydration:
- I sprayed water on the seeds and maintained humidity between 68 and 73%.
Temperature:
- The temperature was kept between 25 and 26.9 °C (77ºF and 80.42ºF).
(Sorry, I forgot to register this moment)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On 26/12/2024
- I transferred the seeds to the soil because they had already grown to a considerably interesting size for transplanting (from the tip of the index finger to the first knuckle).
Wish me Good Luck Guys!

On 28/12/2024
- Only watering. I continue to spray them with just with tap water, while checking every morning to see if I can gently remove its shell. Banana Blaze still has it shell on (she's too spoiled, isn't she?)
- GSC no longer has a shell, but its body's still upside down.
- I'm keeping an eye on their stems. I think they're turning purple, but I'm not sure. I'll wait a little longer and keep an eye out (tips are welcome).
Temperature: between 24.9 and 26.5ºC (76.82 and 79.7ºF)
Humidity: between 80 and 88% (at night, I got close to 89%)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On 29/12/2024
- I realized that GSC still has a thin remaining layer from the seed over it. I got desperate lol
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On 30/12/2024
- Today, I noticed that the GSC still couldn't shed its damn shell and remains suffocated. To address this issue, I started applying my saliva on top of the seed because I heard that it would soften the seed, allowing the cotyledon to emerge.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On 31/12/2024
- Finally, the seed managed to emerge from the plant's cotyledons. I felt much more relieved after seeing this.
- In the end of the night, I realized that the 2 plant already have their real leaves beyond the cotyledon, so.... End of the Germination Phase. 😎😃😭🙏🙏
🙏🙏
Happy New Year!
On 01/01/2025
- I set the LED timer to turn on at 19:00 and turn off at 13:00h the next day. With this information in mind, I noticed some issues that I want to address and resolve in the coming days because this could greatly complicate/stress the plant's growth. During its dark period (13h to 19h), the external temperature is significantly higher than during the actual night, which might confuse the plant. Also, when the LED timer switches on at 19h, the external temperature drops, causing the daytime temperature inside the tent for the plant to be the same or even lower than its nighttime temperature.
- At 13:00 (1:00 PM), I took the opportunity to reconfigure the setup. Previously, the LED panel was positioned 65 cm (25.6 inches) away from the plant, and the exhaust fan was attached to the existing wall outlet in the small greenhouse. I then hung the exhaust fan from an adjustable cable on the ceiling of the greenhouse. This change brought several benefits: it improved the air flow, helped in reducing the temperature, and decreased noise since it stopped the tent from vibrating along with the exhaust fan. As a consequence of this, the LED panel was adjusted to be closer to the plant, now only 35 cm (13.8 inches) from the seedlings' leaves.
- I noticed the plant was becoming etiolated during its germination phase, and the humidity was too high for its next growth phases. By adjusting the position of the exhaust fan, I significantly improved air circulation inside the tent, reducing the humidity from the 80% range to the 70% range, or even less.
- From here, I'll wait for the soil to dry out before starting to water with 250ml of water, instead of just spraying. I attached a photo of how it looked in the end to document the changes.

On 02/01/2025
- I watered each plant with 250ml (0.07 gal) of tap water. Since I don't have a pH meter, I run the risk of harming the plant. Therefore, I'll start letting all the tap water I set aside for watering sit for at least 24 hours beforehand, as this should, in theory, allow the chlorine to evaporate and adjust its acidity level.
