ccred I just registered here, which is why I'm starting this diary from week 10. A quick explanation: We had a Tangerine Dream Auto from Barney's Farm in a 3L pot with a Habibi LED lamp from Crescience. - However, without a tent, as we wanted to see what life is like for a cannabis plant as total newbies. It grew delicately (but it already reached over 50 cm tall) and produced smaller but beautiful buds. However, due to our cluelessness and my nutritional mistakes, it got so stressed that it hermied and even self-pollinated. The plant this diary is about is a seed from her ( - so not a "real" BF strain). By now, it is 175 cm tall from the ground with a 35 cm long cola on the main stem. A real Long Tall Sally. The "tent" is an improvisation made from a wire shelf with just one bottom where the lamp hangs, and a grow tent thrown over it. Since the beauty is almost 2 m tall with the pot, the wire shelf is also sitting on four equally thick books. ;-) At first, I stressed her out right away because I transplanted her too late. Fat root rings in the small seedling pot were the consequence. After I tore them a bit to get her out of the vicious cycle, the waiting took 3 long days. But then it took off - as if nothing had happened. I feed the plant loosely and a bit weaker according to the feeding plan from Crazy Hills (currently week 5 of flowering). The only exception is that I add CalMag to every watering of the plant - from cradle to grave - as a prophylactic. I've read and heard too much about growing under LED. She seems to like it, at least the leaves aren't saying otherwise. :-)

ccred Addendum: She's blooming beautifully. A curiosity this week: A leaf with 14 fingers - even though it's actually a 9-fingered and a 5-fingered leaf on the same stem directly on top of each other.

ccred Our Lang Tall Sally still seems to be doing well. The buds are growing, the leaves are still beautifully even green, and the terpenes are just shining between the buds. The smell is nowhere near as intense as I had feared. In the meantime, I've stabilized the cola of the main stem with two "plant JoJos," as it was threatening to become too heavy for the plant. At first, I didn't trust those things, but they hold the plant well, which still has room to dance. I didn't want to stick a bamboo stick or anything like that into the soil, as I was worried about damaging her roots. She has to support and stabilize her 1.75m in a pot that only has 8 liters of volume. Every root must be important to her. ;-) Since the Tangerine Dream Auto is supposed to be a fast-flowering strain, 12 weeks is already quite long. But I still don't get the impression that she's ready to harvest. The trichomes still mostly look clear. However, I do need a better magnifying glass. ;-)

ccred Actually, Long Tall Sally is doing well, but we probably need to put a few books under the shelf feet. The structures in the first picture on the cola of the main stem look somewhat like what you call a fox tail. It's just gotten a bit taller (178 cm) and is now too close to the lamp. But it's still a beauty with its (IMHO) giant cola. The main stem is somehow a sea of buds, and the side branches are not slacking off either... :-) Let's see, it's now at the end of week 13, and in the next few days, I'll start giving her only water (with CalMag). I'm curious to see if I hit the right harvest time. - It's the first time. Her mother was a rescue harvest since she just couldn't go on anymore... :-( But it was tasty anyway... :-D

ccred The buds keep growing, the fox tails too... We raised the shelf one more book series higher, but to make sure the other shoots still get light, this should be enough now. According to the feeding schedule from "Crazy-Hill," she is now in week 9 of flowering, so she's only getting water (and CalMag) now.

You ain't kidding on tall bud. Barney's has some great tangerine Terp stuff. Foxtailing from DLI or genetics?

They are foxtails, right? I don't know if it's from the light or the genetics, their mother had self-pollinated from stress. However, the plant is so big that we had to improvise with the tent. The structure wouldn't support an exhaust fan, so there isn't one. The lamp hangs quite close to the cola of the main shoot, but it is a compromise so that the other shoots also get light.
