These hydro clones were taken just after my Moby soil clone (in another one of my diaries). They began their life in a small cloner Greenhouse under 150W of CFL lighting. I would like to use these clones as a side-by-side comparison to my Moby soil grow. All plants come from the same mother and will be using the same nutrients. All plants will share a mixture of the same lights a combination of a 300W LED Red/Blue grow light, a 600W Viparspectra LED grow light, and a 900W Viparspectra LED grow light.
First week with all 3 clones. I am anticipating that these clones will need around 2 weeks to develop a strong root base. I will select the strongest 2 clones to move forward to the Flood and Drain system that will be used for the majority of Veg and all of Flower.
3/3 Clones seem to be responding OK to the DWC hydro cloner. The current plan is to only use 2/3 in the Flood and Drain veg/flower system that these clones will move to next. I've been playing around with the amount of ventilation in the DWC cloner, finding it difficult to maintain optimum humidity (typically either too dry or too moist).
1/3 hydro clones survived. This week I transplanted this lone survivor into the Flood and Drain setup that will be used for the remainder of Veg and Flower. Used 900W Viparspectra Grow Light in veg mode only.
Hydro clone appears to have rooted successfully in new irrigation system. The flood and drain is done using a timer with a 120VAC Submersible irrigation pump. The water drains through a 3/8 hole drilled in the bottom of the tray. Im using a fish tank air pump to aerate the reservoir.
I had to head out of town for 2 nights this week. During that time I experienced a failure on the timer used for my irrigation pump. Luckily I was able to nurse the plant back to health within about 30+ hours or so. I will not be using a timer anymore for this pump, I have reconfigured my setup to a recirculating Flood and Drain system.
Just over 1 week away from switching to flower. Emptied 5 gallons from reservoir and replaced with fresh nutrient top-up. Changed lights to the 300W LED light. I moved the 900W Viparspectra to the other Moby soil grow (it was in need of more wattage). I will continue to use this 300W LED light for another week --> 600W Viparspectra LED light on order (this is to be used for flower).
Continued to train this lady through the trellis. Looks like I might need 1+ more additional weeks in veg. Did a full reservoir change over today, will have to do that once more after the switch to flower has commenced.
