Week 0 - (30/01/25)
General Overview:
🌱 The germination process was initiated on 30/01/2025], using paper towel method. Seeds were kept at an optimal temperature of [24°C] with a humidity level of [80%], ensuring a favorable environment for sprouting.
After 3 days, the first signs of germination appeared, with 1 out of 1 seeds successfully sprouting. The taproots reached approximately 3 cm in length before transplantation. No significant issues such as mold, damping-off, or seed rot were observed.
Once the seedlings developed strong taproots, they were carefully transferred to Biobizz All-Mix under a 18-hour light cycle with temperatures maintained at 24°C. The first true leaves started to emerge within 5 days post-transplantation.
Overall, the germination phase was successful, with 100% seed viability. The plants are now progressing into the vegetative stage under good growing conditions.

Issues observed: -
The seedlings have successfully transitioned into the vegetative stage, showing steady growth and development. By the end of the first week, they have reached approximately 4,5 cm in height, with 2 nodes forming. The first set of true leaves is expanding, and new leaf pairs are emerging at a healthy rate.
Environmental Conditions:
Temperature: 24°C (day) / 19°C (night)
💧 Humidity: 60%
💡 Light Cycle: 18 hours light / 6 hours dark
🌱 Growing Medium: Biobizz All-Mix
Watering & Feeding:
💦 Watering: 70 mL per plant, every 3 days
🥤 Water pH & EC: pH 6.5
🌱 Nutrients Used: Root-Juice, Bio-Grow, Fish-Mix, Bio-Heaven, Acti-Vera
Plant Development & Observations:
🌿 While the seedlings have successfully transitioned into the vegetative stage, signs of stress have emerged. The lower leaves are turning yellow, and leaf edges are slightly curling. This suggests potential overwatering, nutrient absorption issues, or environmental stress. Stem strength remains good, and no excessive stretching has been observed.
Identified Issues & Solutions:
⚠️ Overwatering & Root Health: The soil appears to retain excessive moisture, possibly limiting oxygen availability to the roots.
✅ Solution: Allow the soil to dry out completely before the next watering. Improved aeration is encouraged by keeping the pot slightly elevated.
⚠️ Possible Nitrogen Deficiency or Uptake Issue: Yellowing of lower leaves suggests nitrogen deficiency, but nutrient absorption might be compromised due to overwatering.
✅ Solution: Avoid feeding nutrients until the soil dries. A low-dose Bio-Grow feed might be introduced later to support recovery.
⚠️ Light Stress Consideration: Leaf curling might indicate minor light stress.
✅ Solution: The grow light has been adjusted slightly higher (~75-80 cm) to reduce potential stress.
Next Steps:
🔍 Closely monitor leaf color, growth rate, and new foliage development over the next few days.
💨 Resume fan operation for improved airflow but ensure it does not directly hit the plant.
🌱 Avoid unnecessary interventions until the plant stabilizes.
This week’s goal is to restore root function, encourage healthy nutrient uptake, and gradually strengthen vegetative growth.
Training & Maintenance:
No training applied yet, but LST/topping is planned for the upcoming weeks.
Monitoring closely for any signs of stretching, discoloration, or pest issues.
Overall, Week 1 of vegetation has been smooth, and the plant are adapting well to their environment. The goal for next week is to continue strengthening the root system and encourage steady vertical growth.
Week 2 - Stronger Growth & Adjustments
This week marked steady progress as my seedling entered Week 2 of the vegetative stage. After switching to BioBizz All-Mix, nutrient deficiencies are no longer a major concern, but I’ve been closely monitoring watering and environmental conditions to ensure a smooth transition.
The plant showed good new growth, but the lower leaves turned yellow earlier in the week. Initially, I suspected a nutrient deficiency or overwatering, but after some adjustments, things are improving. I’ve also fine-tuned my light distance and feeding schedule to better suit the setup.
Current Setup & Conditions
🌱 Medium: BioBizz All-Mix
💡 Light: 40 cm distance, 18/6 cycle
💧 Watering: Adjusted to match soil dryness, moisture level at 60%
🌡️ Temperature: 24°C (day) / 19°C (night)
💦 Humidity: 60%
Nutrients: BioBizz schedule – Bio-Grow, Acti-Vera, Alg-A-Mic, and Calmag if needed
📦 Pot Size: 10L
Challenges & Solutions
- Yellowing Lower Leaves: Likely caused by either residual transplant stress or mild overwatering. Since All-Mix is pre-fertilized, nutrient deficiency was ruled out.
→ Solution: I slightly adjusted the watering schedule to avoid excess moisture and checked run-off pH to keep it stable at 6.2.
- Light Positioning: The initial 60-70 cm distance was safe, but I lowered it to 40 cm for better light penetration as the plant strengthens.
→ Outcome: New growth looks healthy, and stretching has remained minimal.
- Root Development: Since roots are still establishing, I avoided overfeeding and focused on Root-Juice in the early days, then introduced Bio-Grow as the plant gained strength.
---
LST & Future Plans
- Topping & LST: Not applied yet, but planned for next week once I see more vigorous lateral growth.
- Nutrient Adjustments: Will continue following the BioBizz schedule but may introduce Fish-Mix or an extra dose of Alg-A-Mic if needed.
- Humidity Control: Planning to maintain around 60% until the plant is strong enough for gradual reductions in RH.
---
This week was all about fine-tuning the conditions and solving minor setbacks early. The yellowing leaves were a minor concern, but overall, the plant is on track. Adjusting watering, light, and feeding balance has already shown positive results, and I’m excited to see how it grows in Week 3.
Would love to hear feedback or tips.
Stay tuned for next week’s update!
