Hello to everyone, this is my first ever grow diary and my first indoor grow in 20 years and as such did a lot of research, purchasing of supplies and necessary equipment to make a successful come back into to scene plus learning a lot of information of some good friends over the last 4 to 5 months. So to begin this first grow after a long break, I thought I'd begin with some autoflowering strains that I've read a lot of good things about. At this stage I've just placed the beans onto the usual colpret for hatching and expect a result in the next 36 to 48 hours, so when I get a sighting I will do another update and some more pics of the ladies and there new home, until then please feel free to ask any questions or offering advice, as far as I'm concerned, you can never have enough knowledge, stay cool and enjoy the small things in life πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜πŸ˜

Ha, I recently completed my first indoor grow for over 20 years too. I never knew about autos back then but I'm addicted to them now. What a difference it makes not having to keep a sealed off dark area.

@DanDaman2515, OK, first off I must say I'm puzzled about why you say you still need a sealed off dark area for autos, unless I've misunderstood. I've been exceedingly happy with Dutch Passion seeds. For me vaporisers have completely changed the game as to what I want from a bud. And even drying is different, because the best drying and curing techniques are designed to smoke well. But with vapes now, especially a convection vape like the firefly, all you're doing is sucking off the vaporised trichomes. I'm tending to favour airy buds not tight nuggets these days, but they need to be covered thickly in trichomes, then once they are at the right level of dryness I will crush them down into a small compressed packet. So all the trichomes are absorbed. Otherwise with these pretty manicured buds half the trichomes have fallen off. The dope how I do it now is sort of a bit chewy and when I put it into the vape bowl it's a bit like plasticine. This would be very bad to try and roll into a blunt and smoke, but in a vape it's magic. I'm gonna put some photos up of some soon in week 12 as I had to do a part harvest.

@Freddd, You still need a sealed off dark room but just for less time '-' If I did an auto again ?? It'd be with Dutch Passion/Fast Buds/Krippling but for me it's photo period plants & Back to the timer switches again the buds on the photo period plants are just so much bigger than the auto's (Unlike pictures let you believe) but there is good auto genetics

Hi Matty, I just noticed that you said you're happy to hear any advice, in that case seeing as you are germinating on paper, I would suggest that, if it is not t oo late, to use an eazy plug, or similar. That way you can open them up like a chocolate muffin and place the seedling so the seed is right at the surface and the root is lying in a nice natural crevice. Then close it up. Great for soil or hydro. You can see what I mean if you look at week one of my current Think Big auto.
