FrostyFarmers In this Diary we take you on a fairly detailed trip throughout our whole experience of our first grow. Documenting interesting stuff, problems and things we think are nice to share, we wish you a good time reading our diary. Not all the plants are mine, but the Ztrawberriez is from a different person in the same household. When speaking about the plants I will use the term "We" when doing anything, so its easier to understand. ------------------- We started soaking the seeds for 24 hours in a glass of water, proceeding to further germinate them in a wet paper towel for 12 more hours and planting them in their final pot on the 18th of February. 2 days later our little plants saw the light for the first time in their 50x50x120 tent.

FrostyFarmers Stoaked from the first achievement we ordered more seeds an decided to start germinating a 4th one, Ztrawberriez Auto, on Feburary 23rd, with the same method used before. Again, 2 days later our 4th girl came out of the soil aswell. After having some starting problems with fungus gnats (probably because of the soil) we established a strong defense with some sticky traps, because we didnt know what to do exactly :D It seems to have worked, since we never saw them again after a few days (Not even sticking to the traps).

FrostyFarmers In this week the plants just kept growing bigger day after day until our first real problem occured. Because we dont really measure the amount of water we give each plant but use the special eye-measuring method, the water for each plant differs. Furthermore our measuring tool (which also apperently is for measuring ph-levels) isnt the best and not accurate at all as it seems. The result is watering each plant individually on seperate days. The ultra high humidity we cant get fixed atm results in us almost not watering at all unluckily. On 6th of March. two of four plants got water with some nutrients (the ones in the back of the tent). One day later they started to look unhappy in a time frame of only a few hours. We did nothing about it, because we didnt know what to do again. If anyone knows why this is or what this looks like please let us know. Our little Ztrawberriez only received BioBizz Root Juice (1ml/L) and CalMag (0,5ml/L) and doesnt seem to have any problems. At this time we also noticed that the tent is going to be way to small for those 4 plants. We keep it going anyways. Our problem got worse and the leaves started to turn yellow-ish at some points. Especially our 3rd Amnesia plant is mysteriusly receiving some yellow points on one leave aswell, even though she didnt receive any water since. Also the tips of some leaves look burnt (second picture from the 08.03.). We started to cut off leaves from the 2 plants in the back that look unhealthy, one by one, day after day. In our minds, the occuring problem is due to firstly lack of Calcium & Magnesium or secondly the ph-level of our substrat. Keeping that in mind we talked to really nice personn from a well reputated grow shop. According to him it is probably because of the ph-level, since we give our plants 0,5ml/L CalMag as a prevention of low Calcium & Magnesium levels. With that information we tested our ph-tester resulting in it being faulty (It was 6 Euros). Now with a new tester, which is better quality we can actually measure our real ph levels and get them from PH 8-8,5 to a more reasonable 6-6,5 using citric acid starting on the 14th of February. Fixing our humidity we just keep the door of the tent open a little to keep it at around 60-70%, which is fine for us. We bought a humidier aswell, that we could put inside if we cant keep the desired levels. With the new Equipment we now have the ability to share more information about our grow and hopefully keep our girls healthier.

They took everthing pretty well.

FrostyFarmers We ordered a bigger tent this week, which is set up next week. Personally we think we were a little too ambitious putting 4 plants into that small 50x50 tent without any ventilation :D. New one is going to be way bigger and all will need hopefully.

FrostyFarmers The new tent arrived and looks good. Now our plants have some time left to get bigger. Before our plants start to flower we also put all 4 of them in a 19L pot, which they took fine. Furthermore we topped the Ztrawberriez.

FrostyFarmers This week we gave ladys a little haircut. No idea if thats how you do it, but the plants seem to be fine with it and recovered quickly, seeing great progress in growth the next days. Overall i think the plants are looking great and seem healthy. The Ztrawberriez gets some Bio-Blomm and Top-Max aswell with higher doses the next days.

FrostyFarmers We just found out that our Amnesia plants are not autoflowering :D (11th April). To stop the growth upwards a little we are going for some topping. Hopefully we dont run into any problems while the plants are streching in the early floweing phase :/ To prevent further unnessacery growth of those plants we are also going to switch the light cycle to 12/12 after a few days, so the plants have some time to heal before going into flowering. We started with topping the two plants on the right hand side. The plant behind our Ztrawberriez on the left side of the tent is still very small in comparison to the other plants and will remain untopped. We also want so see how the buds change when not topping the plant and see how it looks in general. The Ztrawberriez plant starts to get a strawberry-like smell I´d say. It could also just be me knowing it is supposed to be strawberries.

FrostyFarmers After 5 days recovering from topping it is time to switch the light cycle to 12/12 on 17th April. Lets see how they will perform in the next week :). This week we also found out, that the lightcycle was 16/8 instead of 18/6. Maybe we do our maths tighter the next time. The Strawberriez now gets around 3-5ml/L Bio-Bloom and 1-2ml/L Top-Max with a little Bio-Grow, to hopefully boost bud-growth. When watering the amnesia plants i start adding Bio-Bloom aswell. Light cycle is now at 12/12. Since topping the 2 Amnesia plants the growth of those is stunning. They keep on getting bigger fast and im a little concerned about them fitting in our tent. Lets see the next days how the plants are strechting. Some leaves show some heat-stress signs we think. The SF2000 was on 90%, so we dialed back a little.

FrostyFarmers In this phase of the plants we tried giving each shoot access to as much light as possible. With that in mind I cut a few fan leaves so the shoots located lower as the rest get enough light. I think you are supposed to just bend the leaves down, but it’s easier to just cut them :D. The overall growth looks good and I’m supprised the Amnesia plants look as good as they do. Especially the two on the right side of the tent. ------------- Amnesia 1: plant right front Amnesia 2: Plant right side behind Ztrawberriez Amnesia 3: plant left side behind Ztrawberriez At the end of the week the light was on 90% again. I measured the ppfd for each plants highest point: Ztrawberriez: 600 ppfd Amnesia 1: 650 ppfd Amnesia 2: 1100 ppfd Amnesia 3: 500-550 ppfd Obviosly this isnt optimal and we would like the Ztrawberriez to get more light. We learn as we go tho and decided to not change anything, since the Ztrawberriez is ready for harvest in around two weeks we think? We honestly have no clue and just go with flow. This week was the last time we fed the Ztrawberriez with extra nutrients. She is getting flushed now and exceptionally gets water.

FrostyFarmers Only the Amnesia plants receive fertilizer from now on. The plants look healthy. We defoliated the Ztrawberriez a little for the last time trying to be careful not to cut to much. Looks pretty good I´d say. Im wondering how much they are strechting from now on. We will see the progress of the plants in the course of the week. Amnesia 2 shows some signs of over-fertilization a website said, causing purplish discolouration, on a hand full of leaves. Since its only one plant that has that problem at the moment we arent worried too much. Every Amnesia plant gets the same nutrients with every watering. Regarding the week: The Ztrawberriez is starting turning purplish. We are planning to harvest her next week. Amnesia 1 is loving her life in there. No signs anything negative. Stems got really strong during stretching and looks beatiful. She will keep on getting fertilized water. This plant looks absolutly stunning considering we just let her grow however she wanted As I said before at the start of the week, we had some problem with over-fertilisation on Amnesia 2. During the week it got very much worse caused by be us watering with the same high dose of fertilizer again by accident. It is what is tho. Theres a few leaves affected by this ,which we will cut off, otherwise the plant looks really happy with the new buds getting bigger and bigger. I feel like Amnesia 3 is a ticking time bomb for mold. Because she grew so bushy in such a small space I repetedly cut off leaves. I think this is resulting in a weird kind of grow now.

FrostyFarmers May 10th: Amnesia 2 is still looking like shes suffering a little judging from the leaves. However her growth looks beatiful and we have nothing to complain about. It probably just looks worse than it actually is. The Ztrawberriez leaves are turning purple completely, which looks pretty cool. Even more importantly, the buds keep getting bigger and she smells amazing. May 14th: It did not look worse than it actually is. The Leaves of Amnesia are suffering a lot, however the grwoth in general including the buds is better than the other plants. We described the situation to ChatGPT which ended up telling us to reduce light stress to a maximum of 850 µmol/J. So thats what we did. The SF2000 is now at 65% with the lamp running at maximum height in the tent. Dead leaves are getting cut off until it gets better. Personally I think that the humidity, which was as low as 30-35% at some point due to weather changes and no air humidifier in our possession in combination with high light stress and maybe even the fan blasting directly onto the plant. Harvest time for the Ztrawberriez is on May 16. After that we will take care of Amnesia 2 even more, swapping places with Amnesia 1 and hanging the fan higher.

Since its our first grow, reviewing the strain is pretty hard. We did habe some kind of problem in flower which we couldnt wrap our head around and just let it be. Personally I think the plant struggled with some kind of nutrient barrier? All in all it was still fun growing it and we are looking forward to smoke and review it afterwards!

FrostyFarmers Harvest time for the Ztrawberriez Auto It is May 16 and the plant is 81 days old. 1,5 weeks longer then expected. Probably because of the 12/12 light cycle. One day after Week 12. We would have grown her even longer, but due to interferences with vacation there was no other possibility. May 22: The drying process is a little difficult for us, since we have no equipment ready to manage our humidity and temperature. We cure the buds inside a small tent and put water inside a few containers to keep the humidity from being at 35%. Its now at a constant 60%, which is fine for us. Never the less it was too low the first couple of days. Temperatures are at around 22 degrees, which is way to high. There is nothing we can do about that. From the start on, we put a small fan aiming at the floor of the tent. ----------------- Wet weight (with leaves): 338g Wet weight (without leaves): 215g Expected Dry weight: around 50g Actual Dry weight: 35g ----------------- We also wanted to try out making hash: weight sugar leaves: 70g Actual weight hash: 0g Somehow this didnt work :D. We think the trichomes were too big for the type of sceren printing net we ordered? There was nothing going through this net somehow. We gave up. No Hash :(.

FrostyFarmers Since this week is the first with 3 plants in inside the tent and Amnesia 2 has an urgend light stress problem, she switches places with Amnesia 1. We also thought of some new intuitiv names for the plants. The new order and names are now: Long Girl (Amnesia 2) - right side Middleman (Amnesia 1) - middle The Dwarf (Amnesia 3) - left side Even though Long Man doesnt look as happy leafe-wise, the problem got a little better with not as many neawly infected ones. Unluckily she doesnt have as many leaves anymore and the buds at the top look a little naked. Never the less bud growth looks the best out of all plants we think, which is suprising. Middlemans leafs turnt a little yellow-ish, so she got some more nutrigen-rich fertilizer. This helped already, with new growth having a darker green. Great news. She looks good and healthy overall. Buds looks nice aswell. Dwarf plant is kinda just existing. It seems like she is just happy in life and doesnt have as high standards. Growth is not as fast, but she also doesnt really do any work, which is fine. Buds on all 3 plants are very sticky and have a great aroma already.

FrostyFarmers There wasnt as much time spend with the plants this week. We struggled with high humidity. Its gone up to almost 70% since we had a rainy week. A qiuck look around on April 29th showed no signs of anything, including bad or mold. For now everthing looks fine and we keep it going. The plants have a flowering-time of 10-11 weeks. So we are aiming for another 5 weeks from now on.
