Four Green Crack seedlings at 2 weeks. I’m starting them in veg using my miracle grow aero grower for a light, because I’ve got 2 Blue Dream flowering in my grow room. I’m hoping to replant these 4 GC seeldings in bigger pots in the next couple of weeks.
I’m a new grower and this one is now 18 days into vegetation and I haven’t added any nutrients yet. I’m wondering when the seedling will have used up most of the nutrients in the soil and I should start supplementing with commercial nutrients.
It's Usually around the 3rd or 4th week to start feeding, and when you do start with like a 1/4 to 1/3 the recommended strength when you do some nute brands a pretty strong. And with the size of your pots in consideration I would say start feeding around the 3rd week. Soils do have some nutrients in them and can vary how long they will last. so if you can look to see what and how much is in your soild. You are doing great plants look really healthy. Happy Growing! Hope this helps you an if you have any other ?'s don't be afraid to ask me or any of these other fine Growers😎
The plants seem healthy, but they are outgrowing the area that I have for them. I’m probably going to cut a clone or 2 off of each plant and switch them to a 12-12 light cycle in the next week. I will be putting them in a 4X6 grow room in 5gal buckets, along with 2 Blue Dream that are in their 8th week of flowering.
Is there any reason that I shouldn’t mix the plants that are in different stages of flowering? I just figured that I could put them all together, because they all needed the same light schedule.
Also, I noticed a small patch of white, cotton-like mould on the soil of one of the plants. A quick google search leads me to believe that it’s not serious, but if anyone as had a bad experience with something similar in the past, I’m all ears.
Thx,
GM
It’s been an interesting week. The plants outgrew their area, so I moved the biggest of the 4 plants to the 12-12 flowering room. This happened to be one of the plants that was topped, and I cut 4 clones from this plant(one of which has survived). The other plant that I attempted to top, but only pinched off about 3/4 of the top, has sprouted several shoots out of the top of the plant. I’m curious to find out how well this deformed plant grows. I will likely move the remaining 3 plants to the flowering room this week. I’ll try to take some more clones from these, too.
All the plants have now been switched to the 12/12 flowering room. I’ve got a handful of clones from these plants, but I’ve had little success with clones, so far. I’ve also added in a couple pics of one of the buds of another grow zoomed in with a jewellers loupe. If anyone has any suggestions on how close it looks to harvest, I’m all ears.
I’ve got the plants in 5gal buckets and everything is looking good. My biggest concern right now is the clones that I took from these green Crack plants, they are 14 days old and they haven’t grown at all. They look healthy, but there isn’t any new growth.
Noticed the first flowers starting to form. It looks like I’m going to stick with topping the plants, the 2 that I topped look better than the other 2.
I missed a few weeks. I had an underwhelming crop finish in that time, so I added a 1000W led to the room. I’m hoping that the next group of plants in here will fare better.
I’ve been MIA for a while, but I’ve run into a strange situation with one of my plants and I thought that you fine individuals would have some valuable input.
I’ve got 2 plants of the same age and genetics, planted from seeds. They have been in 12/12 for approx 12 weeks, one is close to harvest and the other hasn’t even started the transition to flowering. The room is sealed from all outside light.
Thoughts from anyone who has experienced something like this before would be hugely appreciated. I’ll make weekly updates about this odd girl on here, if anyone is interested in the outcome.
I’m not sure why this plant isn’t switching from veg to flower, but I’m wondering if I should still be giving veg nutrients, or if I should give flowering nutrients even though there aren’t any buds showing yet.
The other plant that was planted at the same time with the same genetics, has now been harvested.
I was thinking about using this as a mother plant to take cuttings from until it started flowering, but I’m wondering if there’s any point, because they would probably be slow to flower as well.
After speaking with the breeder about this plant that won’t flower, I’ve taken their advice to switch the dark/light to 14/10. I’ll post some pics tonight. Has anyone had such a hard time getting a plant to flower before? And, if so, what did you do to get it to switch?
I've only forced outdoor plants into flower which was simply to bring them inside or cover them for 12 hrs of darkness but your situation must be very rare. Do what Crop King recommends and go from there maybe adding additional darkness will force them into flower. You may eventually want to try lower your Nitrogen and see if the additional phosphorous and potassium in bloom nutrient could also assist the plant to produce its fruits.
Here are some pics of the stubborn plant that won’t flower. I missed a few weeks, so I updated the number of weeks. It got switched to 12/12 on April 1st. Then I changed it to 11/13on July 3rd to try to trigger the change to flower.
It will have been in the flowering room for 14 weeks on Monday
@GrandMan, you got it bro, your plan sounds good, i would go less than half strength though as @hoffguyy said , and stay in touch with the updates you have a cool project, I'll follow along 👊
@CRiSPrGrow,
Thanks Bulbi, I’ve moved them to bigger pots, and I’m hoping that the 2.5L pots will be big enough to hold them for a few more weeks. After that, I can put them in 5gal buckets and move them into the grow room. I’ve never topped a plant before, so I’m planning on topping 2 of the 4 plants and comparing the growth and yield of each. Thanks for the help, I love the tips.
@GreasyLuigi,
The only reason that I put them in 2.5L pots was due to space. These 4 plants are in my kitchen right now. I have a 4X6 grow room that they will get moved to, once the plants currently in there get harvested.
