Howdy. Getting the second grow started while the first is finishing. I think I have learned quite a bit with the first grow. I plan on defoliating more, if not a lot more, this time around. I also plan on increasing the amount of nutrients I use. This week was pretty easy. I started the seeds with the moist paper towel in zip-lock bag method. It took about 2.5 days for enough root to plant, and then it was about another 2.5 days before they sprouted. Last grow, I started with the lights 36" above the pots and the plants didn't seem to stretch much. Went ahead and kept it that way this time, but somewhere around day 2 they started reaching up higher than what they looked like they should, so I lowered the light to 30". The pots were soaked a couple days before the seeds were planted. Right now, the top layer looks dry but it is still moist just under the surface. I may start with a little LST this week. Will give them a good soaking and hopefully see some good growth. Thanks for checking out this grow. I will do a better job detailing the water schedule and nutrients used in the comments this time around in case anyone is curious.

This week went well. Tent conditions have been steady. The plants were watered twice. The schedule was: - Day 10 - 500 mL with 2 mL/gal Cal Mag, 10 mL/gal Big Bloom, and 2 mL/gal Grow Big @ 6.21 pH - Day 12 - 1L with 3 mL/gal Cal Mag, and 3 mL/gal Grow Big @ 6.2 pH Both times the water was @ 300 ppm. Watering and feeding more. The plants are looking pretty good. Maybe bigger than first grow was at this time. I will keep it up until I see signs of too much. I staked them down when I took them out for pictures last night. They are already growing upwards again. Will keep it up as long as they are tolerating it well. Now wondering when I should start with defoliating instead of, or in addition to, leaf tucking. They seem to be growing faster now, so I may start snipping some leaves soon.

Things are still looking good. Watered 3 times this week. Certainly watering more this time around. The schedule this week: Day 15 - 1.5 L water, 4 mL cal mag/gal, 4 mL grow big/gal, 10 mL big bloom/gal (454 ppm, 6.19 pH) Day 18 - 2 L water, 4 mL cal mag/gal, 5 mL grow big/gal (454 ppm, 6.19 pH) Day 21 - 3 L water, 5 mL cal mag/gal, 6 mL grow big/gal, 10 mL big bloom/gal (583 ppm, 6.2 pH) There was a little bit of run off on day 18. There was about 500 mL of run off on day 21. I'm defoliating more this grow. There are still plenty of fan leaves, but I am taking anything that is large or blocking bud sites. Not doing as much leaf tucking this time. We will see how having less leaves and a lot more water and nutrients will do to these.

It has been busy week and I have not been able to update the diary when I would like to. At least I can now. The plants are still doing well. They are clearly doing better than my first grow. The extra water and nutes combined with heavier defoliation is making a difference. I'm looking forward to see what I can get out of these. Watered twice this week: 1 gallon per plant with 5 mL cal mag/gallon and 6 mL grow big/ gallon (530 ppm, 6.23 pH) 1 gallon per plant with 5 mL cal mag/gallon and 7 mL grow big/ gallon (561 ppm, 6.26 pH) Pistils started to appear at the beginning of this week. I'm taking it easy on the LST now. Just trying to keep the canopy even. Moved the Orange Diesels to the 5' x 5' with the quantum board. Hoping they will stretch well under this one.

@@Fingers, Thanks! It's good to hear the ppm is good. I dropped my meter into the water bucket a couple of waterings ago and it did not respond well. It isn't working now. So I couldn't measure the run off from the flush I gave them last night. I gave them a couple of gallons of 6.2 pH water and it brought the run off up to 5.8. I'll try to work it up a bit more if I can. Thanks for the heads up!

@OKgrows, your ppm is good but your pH is creeping towards lockout. I try to keep it between 5.8-6.2. But she is looking great!

@@Fingers, Howdy. Will be breaking in the veg tent with this grow. It is a 3'x3' with 4" exhaust fan and filter. Currently using an actual 265w (1200w) blurple, which will be the first upgrade. Have a couple of 6" clip-on fans blowing now, but have other fans to use when needed. They are growing in 3 gal equivalent air pots in Pro-Mix HP. Have Fox Farm nutrients which will be used more liberally this time around. I'm just over a week in, and I'm pleasantly surprised with how stable the tent has been. I was concerned about big swings in RH or temps, but it has stayed in basically an ideal setting and there is room to lower the humidity along the way. With the about daily tweaking of the 5'x5' tent during my first grow, I'm relieved with how things have gone so far with this one. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for checking it out.
