Brocolis_Grow_Br 6 days old, seems ok.

Brocolis_Grow_Br Doing well. After the first week, the leaves started bulking up nicely and it’s already showing some branching underneath. No smell yet. I think it was a bit too far from the light, so I brought it a little closer. Since this is only my second indoor grow—and the first time I’m growing two plants side by side—I’m still figuring out the ideal light distance for both.

Brocolis_Grow_Br She’s doing amazing. I’m not going to do any kind of training or treatment on her — I’ll just let her grow naturally to see how an automatic plant develops freely in an indoor environment. This will be my first time trying that. She has a beautiful green color, big leaves, and is getting dense. I think she’s going to be a really beautiful plant.

Brocolis_Grow_Br She's doing great — big, lush leaves with perfect coloration. She’s entered pre-flower and should start stretching in the next few days. She’s in the same soil I used to grow the Daikiri Lime next to her. The DL had a strong phosphorus and potassium deficiency in this soil during flowering, so I added 2 tablespoons of bokashi and 2 tablespoons of bone meal. I’ll soon add some cane molasses and a bit of banana peel tea. I really wanted to use wood ash, but I couldn’t get any.

Brocolis_Grow_Br She’s looking beautiful — short and dense, even with that pine-tree shape. I haven’t done any training or tying, but I might do it now since it would help more light get in. Since I’ll be harvesting the one next to her, there’ll be more space to place her directly under the LED, which will also help. I did some cleanup on the lower parts and removed a lot of popcorn buds. I started noticing the first leaf drying at the base — probably the same pattern as the other one that was in the same soil and showed phosphorus and potassium deficiency. I had already added bokashi and bone meal. Now I’ll add some compost I make here and also brew a banana peel tea.

Brocolis_Grow_Br I did the fertilizations I could — bokashi, compost, bone meal, and a bit of lime. I made a good layer and applied it to the top of the soil. These are medium-term amendments, but since I know she still has about 30 to 45 days to go, I think it will help and prevent her from showing severe deficiencies like the Daikiri I grew in the same soil. She's losing some leaves at the base, turning yellow and drying out, which I believe is a Potassium and Phosphorus deficiency. Hopefully, the fertilizations will help. I should make another banana peel tea later this week. The buds are fattening up, and overall, she's looking really nice. I believe I've removed all the smaller popcorn buds. I don’t want to defoliate, as it’s not a plant that ended up with many leaves — she’s put most of her energy into the flowers.

Brocolis_Grow_Br I ended up skipping a week of notes because things got hectic and I kind of neglected her. She's been responding well to the fertilizer I applied and also, I believe, to the banana peel tea. It’s far from enough, but I felt like it slowed down the yellowing. While I left her on her own for those two weeks, a few things happened. First, I think the LED was too close to the top of the plant — the top bud is fat and big, the size of a line (cola), but the leaves started curling from excess light and ended up getting burned — they’re completely toasted. The mid-section leaves have now started turning quite purple, which I think is a mix of a phosphorus deficiency, the low temps (it’s been 17/18/19°C inside the grow), and also that overexposure to light. Other than that, the smell is strong — just touching any part of the plant releases a sharp citrusy, sour scent. She’s very frosty and well-formed. I shouldn’t have been lazy — I really should have done some LST, which probably would’ve helped with light penetration, but I wanted to intervene as little as possible to see how she would turn out naturally. The lollipopping I did seems to have been the right amount, but I’m still curious about doing a little more cleanup to try and double the size of those buds. Just eyeballing it, it looks like it might yield around 60g dry, more or less — we’ll see. She’s still throwing out white pistils and there’s no sign of amber trichomes yet, so I’ll keep monitoring. The only thing I’ve been doing is watering every 2–3 days, maybe 1.5 liters each time. I’ve also pulled the LED back a bit — now it’s around 35 cm away.
