Hello, me again with another question. So I just topped the plant, now i was wondering if i should remove the growth beneath the upper set of leaves. I've seen videos explaining why you should do it and why you shouldn't. Whats your experience? Appreciate all the help so far!

Hey there that’s a great question I see a lot of people make this mistake No I don’t think you should cut off any leaves at this time. At this time your plant needs all the real estate of leaves as possible. The more leaf matter you have at this time will allow your plant to absorb more light and do more photosynthesis in a day allowing it to grow more roots and grow more plant matter quicker. I will leave all the leaves on my plants until the point the leaves are all over each other this give the plant a good start Your plant looks healthy just let it keep growing for a couple weeks and then reevaluate what todo with leaves and such

jjTomtom Welcome back, so this is what happened in week 3 so far - not much. The plant recovered from the previous topping and the new stems are forming nicely. I waited for the soil to dry out and gave her a small can full of water with a little sip of fertilizer shown above (yeah, I'm winging that part). Another thing i did was some soft LST 1-2 times a day to spread out the upper leaves a bit. EDIT: i just felt like the right thing to do was to remove just a little bit of weight from the very bottom, since nothing down there was developing further (bonus: 2 clones of the plant for friends) LST coming along nicely i think. Don't know why there are 6 colas forming now, but im trying my best to spread them as evenly as possible. Might let the plant grow as it is without another topping, but will see about that later on. She will get another sip of fertilizer tomorrow, since the soil hasn't dried out completely yet Have a nice sunday!

Looks like the plant has recovered nicely after the topping from previous week. I refrained from defoliating right after topping her. Seems like 4 branches are forming symmetrically (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm thinking about defoliating below those 4. What do you think? THX!

jjTomtom Hello again, the plant did recover nicely from last weeks defoliation (see last weeks edit) and was growing a bit too dense for my liking, despite daily soft LST. So i decided to tie that bitch up using a combination of string and wire. Will water her with fertilizer again, probably this evening. Other than that, not much to report for. Pretty happy with how things are going so far. Have a nice day, you deserve it! 😘

jjTomtom Hello again, week 5 everyone. I noticed that the tips of the leaves were starting to get yellow and brown. I figured i gave too much fertilizer and haven't fed her any since then. The leaves stayed the same as when i noticed and the new ones look just fine. Other than that i decided it was time for another tie down a bit further outside, to spread the colas out a little more. The plant has grown quite a bit this week. The clones i took like 2 weeks ago didn't root yet tho, maybe im doing something wrong? Have a nice day!

Hello, I took clones from my plant like 2 weeks ago. They were in the glass shown like this since then. They are placed on a fairly sunny window. Am i doing something wrong? How long should it take for them to start rooting?

I don‘t clone in water, rather in jiffys… but at the end clones need a high RH, so like a humidity dome to keep RH 80-95% because without roots the plant absorb wartet through leaves… place a plastic bag or a plastic Cup (transparent) above, Exchange air twice a day & use a spray bottle to keep humidity high inside the bag

Hello again, am i right to suspect this as a sign of nitrogen toxicity? Stopped feeding fertilizer as soon as this started.

If your pH level is correct and you can confidently rule out an issue with the pH of your watering solution, then it’s most likely a case of over-fertilization. In that situation, the right approach is to water with pH-adjusted water only for a while. Personally, I always water at a pH of 6.2 – a range between 6.0 and 6.5 is perfectly fine for soil.
