Weedsau Day 0 – She’s Here!
Three days ago, I planted a Sweet Skunk Automatic seed directly into soil, and today, she broke through the surface—welcome to the world, little one! That makes today officially Day 0 of the grow.
The grow is taking place 100% outdoors, facing south for maximum sunlight exposure. The spot gets a lot of warmth throughout the day, which will be a double-edged sword—great for growth, but challenging for consistent watering. Because I won’t always be around to water daily, I’ve tried to prepare the soil to be as self-sufficient as possible.
Soil mix setup (20L fabric pot):
• Base: Biobizz All-Mix, a rich organic soil full of microbial life.
Amendments:
• Tomato slow-release fertilizer with sheep wool – for steady nutrient availability over time.
• Aquagel (super absorbent hydrogel crystals) – added to help the soil retain water. These gels can hold up to 400 times their volume in water, which should help bridge the gaps between waterings in the hot sun.
Environmental Conditions (May 11, 2025):
• Temperature: Around 21°C (70°F) during the day, dropping to 6°C (43°F) at night.
• Sky: Mostly sunny with some clouds.
• Wind: Moderate north winds at 17–31 mph.
• Humidity: Approximately 77%.
Weather Outlook (May 12–18, 2025):
The week ahead is expected to be mild and mostly dry, with daytime highs ranging from 19°C to 22°C and nighttime lows between 3°C and 8°C. Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny, and there is little to no precipitation anticipated. Winds will be light to moderate.
Growth Expectations:
These favorable conditions should support steady vegetative growth for your Sweet Skunk Automatic. The combination of ample sunlight, moderate temperatures, and minimal rainfall reduces the risk of overwatering, especially with your soil’s water-retentive properties. However, continue to monitor nighttime temperatures, as occasional dips may occur.
Overall, the upcoming week presents an excellent environment for your outdoor cannabis cultivation.
I’m excited to see how this setup performs. If it works well, this could be a very low-maintenance yet productive outdoor grow.
Let’s see how she develops from here—on to the journey!

Weedsau Day 1 – First Leaves Emerging
It’s only been a day since she popped out of the soil, and already the first set of true leaves is beginning to form. A promising sign that she’s transitioning smoothly from sprout to seedling.
The conditions remain favorable—mild temperatures, decent light, and the soil is holding moisture well, no need for watering yet. The setup seems to be doing its job.
She’s showing good early vigor. Onward! :)
Day 3 – First Watering
She’s growing steadily! Today marks Day 3, and the second set of true leaves is now clearly visible—small but healthy and vibrant. The seedling looks happy and well-rooted.
The soil finally felt dry enough to warrant the first proper watering. I gave her a light but even soak to activate the nutrients in the mix and support root development. The Aquagel seems to have done a great job keeping moisture stable up to this point.
Everything is progressing as hoped. Onward to stronger growth!
Day 5 – Holding Strong.
We’ve reached Day 5, and our little Sweet Skunk is showing great early vigor.
Weather Update:
Yesterday brought cool but stable conditions, with highs around 15°C and lows near 5°C. The sky remained mostly overcast, but the lack of wind and rain helped keep everything calm and steady.
Today is slightly warmer, with a high near 18°C and sunny intervals in the morning before clouds moved in. No rain is expected, and the moderate temperatures are supporting consistent growth.
Plant Status:
She looks healthy and stable, with vibrant green coloration and visible progress on her second set of true leaves. No signs of stress or stretch, and the moisture level in the soil remains balanced.
All signs point to a smooth transition into the vegetative phase.

Weedsau Outlook for Week 2
The upcoming days will bring mild temperatures and partly cloudy skies, with daytime highs between 17°C and 24°C and nighttime lows from 5°C to 10°C. Some light rain is possible midweek, but overall the conditions remain favorable.
Day 9 – Compact and Thriving.
On Day 9, our Sweet Skunk Automatic is showing compact and healthy growth, a result of solid Skunk genetics and consistent lighting from the well-exposed south-facing spot. The leaves are broad and vibrant, signaling strong development. There are no signs of etiolation, which confirms the lighting conditions are well-balanced and sufficient for this stage.
Day 13 – Slowed by Spring Chill.
As of Day 13, our Sweet Skunk Automatic continues to develop, albeit at a slower pace than anticipated. The recent cool nighttime temperatures, occasionally dropping to 2–3°C, combined with overcast skies, have contributed to this deceleration. Such conditions are less than ideal for vigorous vegetative growth, as the plant conserves energy under these stresses.
Weather Outlook for Week 3.
Looking ahead, the forecast indicates a gradual improvement. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise to 17–24°C, with nighttime lows between 5–10°C. While some light rain is possible midweek, the overall trend suggests more favorable conditions for growth.
With the anticipated warmer temperatures and increased sunlight, we can expect our Sweet Skunk Automatic to resume a more robust growth pattern in the coming days.

Weedsau Day 18 – New Growth Picking Up.
After a noticeably slow week due to cold nights and heavy cloud cover, things are now looking up. On Day 18, the Sweet Skunk Automatic is beginning to show renewed growth momentum. The central shoot is stretching slightly, and several new leaf pairs have formed—compact, healthy, and well-structured.
The weather has improved in recent days, with more consistent sunlight and milder nights. As the temperatures continue to rise and the soil warms up, we’re expecting a stronger push into the vegetative phase.
She’s holding her shape nicely—no signs of stress or stretch, and still no trace of etiolation. Conditions are finally aligning with the plant’s natural rhythm.

Weedsau Day 26 – On the Verge of Flowering
We’re now on Day 26 of the grow, and the Sweet Skunk Automatic is entering a critical stage. After nearly four full weeks of vegetative growth, the plant continues to appear healthy and structurally compact. Leaf growth remains vigorous, and the internodal spacing is still tight—a good indicator of strong light exposure and stable environmental conditions.
This week marks the likely transition period into the early flowering stage, which typically begins around week 4 to 5 for this autoflowering strain. While no pistils are visible yet, we expect the first signs of pre-flowering to appear within the next few days.
Weather Recap & Outlook
The past week brought mixed conditions—cool nights and scattered showers slowed growth slightly but didn’t cause any stress symptoms. Now, a more favorable pattern is setting in:
• Daytime highs are climbing steadily toward 24–26°C
• Nighttime lows remain above 10°C, reducing root zone stress
• Plenty of sunshine is forecasted for the coming days, especially mid to late week
These improved conditions should provide the perfect push for the plant to fully enter bloom. We’ll be watching closely for the first white hairs and signs of stretching.
The stage is set. If everything stays on track, we’ll enter the flowering chapter of this grow very soon

Weedsau Grow Diary – Sweet Skunk Automatic (RQS)
Day 35 – Flowering Has Begun
Today is Day 35, and the Sweet Skunk Automatic is officially entering the early flowering stage. The first white pistils are now clearly visible at several nodes, confirming that the plant has shifted from vegetative growth into bloom. Internodal stretching has increased slightly, especially around the central stalk, but the plant still maintains a compact and healthy form.
Leaf color remains a vibrant green with no signs of deficiency or stress, and side branches are beginning to gain strength. The earlier cool and cloudy days seem far behind now, with recent weather providing the ideal environment for a smooth transition into flowering.
Weather & Outlook
• Daytime temps: 23–27°C
• Nights: Mild, around 12–15°C
• Mostly sunny skies forecasted for the coming week
With more sun and warmth on the horizon, we expect to see rapid flower development over the next 7–10 days. Everything is progressing right on schedule.
From now on, all eyes are on flower formation and nutrient balance. Let the bloom begin!
