drakkon A single Medusa F1 seed from RQS started in FoxFarm Happy Frog soil in an air pot propagation cell (smallest size). Half teaspoon of Xtreme Gardening Mykos Mycorrhizal Inoculant added in and around seed-hole. The seed germinated in three days and is off to a good start.

drakkon The Medusa F1 seedling appears healthy and is growing. It resides in my office under an Iongrid S22 LED lamp that hangs from the underside of a motorized height-adjustable desk. The light intensity is currently set to 6 out of 10. The motorized desk makes it easy to adjust the lamp's height. A tiny USB-powered electric fan and the room's HVAC registers provide air circulation. The plant, light and desk are not in a tent, so the plant simply exists in the room's ambient temperature and humidity. Other than my usual HVAC settings, I don't plan to control the room's temperature and humidity. So far, the plant has received water only, without any fertilizer.

drakkon The Medusa F1 has received no nutrients yet, beyond what is already in the FoxFarm Happy Frog soil. It continues to grow nicely and will soon be ready for transplanting and training. I plan to put it in Happy Frog soil in a "yellow" size air pot (~2.2 gal), but haven't yet decided whether to top it or not. Light intensity remains at 6 out of 10, and the plant has grown just a little closer to the lamp.

drakkon On day 19, the Medusa F1 was transplanted into a "yellow" size air pot with FoxFarm Happy Frog soil amended with just a touch of pumice. Her roots and the transplant-hole were sprinkled with mycorrhizae granules. She exhibited no signs of transplant shock whatsoever, so I went ahead and topped her and removed her first-node branches and leaves 24 hours later (day 20). Light intensity remains at 6 out of 10, and she's getting a little closer to the lamp as she grows.

drakkon The Medusa F1 continues to grow and gain in height. She started showing her first flowers toward the end of the week, but I'll call this the last week of her vegetative phase. She now has eight main branches, two each sprouting from nodes 2, 3, 4, and 5. I trained her four upper branches and main stem, hoping to achieve an even canopy and even radial distribution. My goal is to arrange the bottom four branches as a cross-shape (+), and the upper four branches as a cross, too, but rotated 45 degrees in relation to the lower branches (see top-view photo). I also removed a few leaves, tucked a few others, and pruned a handful of her lowest secondary shoots. She was thirstier this week compared to last, and received half-strength vegetative nutrients with each watering.

drakkon The Medusa F1 is in the flowering stage now, with many small flowers clearly visible. Light defoliation and mild LST training performed to encourage a few additional tops beyond the eight main branches. She's undergoing a growth spurt, as shown by photos from days 33 and 37. Compared to the Milky Way F1 I'm growing next to her, this Medusa F1 is taller and has longer internodes. Lamp-to-plant distance maintained by adjusting the height of the lamp or raising the plant. I recently began notching up the light intensity setting for short periods (from 6 to 7 or 8). Waterings now include both vegetative and bloom nutrients, and this where I admit that my watering volume entries are merely estimates. I mix nutrients in a jug, which I usually pour directly from while manually top-watering several different plants. This makes measuring exact volumes difficult. The ambient temps and humidity are creeping up as summer sets in, but I don't expect them to become a problem as long as I keep my eye on it and run the AC sufficiently.

drakkon The Medusa F1 is cruising along and is well into its flowering phase. Trichomes are appearing on and around the flowers. Light defoliation and gentle training continued.

drakkon The Medusa F1 is thriving as of day 50. I removed her tie-downs and her branches sprung up just a little as a result. I continue to remove just the occasional leaf, but not many at all. The trichomes are increasing substantially, and they are beginning to spread quite far out on the leaves, too. She emits faint skunky and floral aromas when handled. Soil pH measured at 7.0, which is fine. I'm at my maximum lamp height, so she's getting a little closer as she grows. I'm monitoring her, and keeping the light intensity setting in the 6 to 7 range, with only short spells above that. Photos include phone snapshots to show growth status (near grow light), plus some SLR close-ups of immature buds (different/supplemental lighting).

drakkon The Medusa F1 is looking beautiful on day 57 — I'm very pleased with her growth and vigor so far. The buds are swelling rapidly and trichomes are spreading profusely. For the past week, she received Organics Alive bloom nutrients at full strength and vegetative nutrients at reduced strength (approximately every other watering). To help keep an even canopy, I re-tied a few of the branches that I untied last week. Phone snapshots include the whole plant to show size and development. To help illustrate scale, I included a 24" x 18" cutting mat (with a 1" grid) in some pics. The remaining photos, of which there are many, are bud closeups from the same day.

drakkon The Medusa F1 is doing great! The buds are filling out in all directions and appear nice and dense. In some ways, they look like they're beginning to foxtail, but I don't think they are — it's likely just how this strain's buds develop and round out. Trichomes continue to spread farther and farther out on the leaves surrounding the buds. She is now starting to emit a somewhat skunky odor even when not handled, but it's not overpowering. Photos this week are limited to phone snapshots to show progress. I will include more closeup glamour shots in the coming weeks.

drakkon The Medusa F1 is cruising along at day 71, and she continues to impress. The buds are getting denser and larger every day. I've already started tapering nutrients, and will start checking trichomes and watching for signs of ripening in the next couple weeks. Harvest time could be soon, but I won't rush it. Photos include snapshots to show her growth progress, as well as some close-ups of trichomes and buds.

I’m growing my first plant but I didn’t opt into training too much, it was brick seed. With a spider farms tent. I will be growing better genetics after this brick seed my cheap neighbor gave me finishes. I kept one plant and this is her. I stunted this plant on accident by not reading into what I was doing. (Learning curve hurt but I kept her going.). I figure it’s good practice for great genetics on my second go. Either way I’m excited to watch your plant grow and was super sad she was only about 13 inches when I took this photo. I will be training and topping and such the next plant but again, I wanted to let her grow kind of natural. I had bad ph and hot soil when it was younger in veg, I fixed that. Anyways . I am Still learning as I go and it’s fun to watch the growth! These pics suck and my plant is not impressive in going to defoliate a little jags. I’m just doing it rough at first to work out some kinks I figured I’d encounter.
