For my second run I first dropped all of my seedlings in a cup of water and left them overnight. The following day most had sunk so I moved them into a paper towel and covered them with plates and put them in a fairly warm spot in a kitch cupboard. Within 24 hours everything had a tap root, some longer than others. On my first run I waited a bit after tap roots showed to move them from the paper towel and a few of them actually started to grow through it, so this time If there was a tap root I planted it pretty much right away.
I popped 8 seeds. 4 Thin Mint x Chronique, 2 Pink Kush and 2 Blue Cheese fem. A little history behind the seeds. Not sure at all on the genetics or quality thereof. Thin Mint x Chronique was gifted to me by a friend who received them from Organic Bros. Pink Kush was gifted to me by a friend. They were bag seed finds from an "LP" purchase of Pink Kush, listed as "AAAA". Whatever that's worth! Finally, the Blue Cheese fem were gifted to me from a website. Kingtuts.ca. The original plan was to keep a diary and post it on their site but they have since moved away from seed sales.
The seedlings were all planted in Greenworld Professional Mix Vpw30 and some added perlite. I decided to use cell pots this time as my solo cups were a little big to fit under my undersized dome. (Gardening supplies were out of season so I had to make due). I watered each extremely lightly with tap water pH to 6.5 after the initial planting and placed them immediately into a propagation tray about 6" under my T5. Inside the dome I placed a cheap hygrometer and thermometer. In this week I was waiting on delivery of a second tent for veg and had to make due with a shelving setup I fabbed up for the time being. Worked good, only disadvantage was the lack of sustainable humidity. Spraying the inside of the dome 3 or 4 times a day was all I could really do. Within 48 hours 7 out of 8 girls were poking through. I gave the second Pink kush another day or so but then I got worried I had planted her too deep. I went digging and sure enough I found her suffocating. I did my best to plant her in some looser medium and pointed her in the right direction. Fingers crossed she pulls through. Two of the TMxC seemed to sproud and take off a little faster than the other two as well.
