yan402 ๐๐ FERMAKOR: The Dorade Incident โ Spontaneous Batch Log
(Because the fish came with guts, and I donโt waste potential)
---
๐ฝ๏ธ How It Started
I ordered two big Dorades for dinner. Didnโt bother ticking the โcleanedโ box.
They arrived whole โ full organs, eyes staring, one of them with a stomach packed with broken seashells (free CaCOโ bonus).
So instead of complaining, I just said:
โAlright, fine. Dinner first. Hydrolysis later.โ
---
โ๏ธ Phase 1 โ The Gut Start (Day 1)
Material: 160 g of fresh guts straight from the fish.
KOH: 20 g (yep, strong ratio, I know).
Water: ~250 mL warm.
Dissolved KOH โ poured over โ stirred โ left to liquefy.
Within minutes it warmed up and foamed; by evening it was already turning into that deep brown, oil-slick mix I like.
---
Phase 2 โ The Rest Goes In (Day 2)
After dinner, all the remaining parts go into the same container:
Heads, bones, fins, skin โ roughly 500โ600 g.
Add another 30โ35 g KOH and ~0.5 L water.
Stir and let it digest for a week or two or three, until smooth.
The seashells stay in โ they buffer the pH and slowly release Ca and trace minerals.
---
โ๏ธ Phase 3 โ Neutralization
Once the mix settles, Iโll neutralize down to pH 6.2โ6.4 using phosphoric acid.
Target ~40 mL of 59 % HโPOโ for the whole thing.
Then strain through cheesecloth / pillowcase (no coffee filter โ thatโs only for exports ๐).
---
Storage
Bottled in brown flip-top German beer bottles.
Label:
โFERMAKOR FISH BASE โ DORADE INCIDENT โ 2025-11-06โ
Shake before use, store dark.
---
๐ฟ Application
10 mL per 30 L barrel mid-flower as amino + micro boost.
Clean N-P-Ca + enzymes, zero smell, instant uptake.

yan402 11.11.25 โ Dorate Extraction
Added 40 g extra KOH.
Reaction had slowed and odor developed โ a clear sign of incomplete hydrolysis.
Solution stayed pale, meaning both temperature and KOH strength were too low.
Might switch to nitric acid for neutralization next time to provide nitrate-N and avoid the mild phosphoric/citric buffer limitation.
---
12.11.25 โ Continued Breakdown
The reaction slowed again after adding the cannabis leaves, releasing more odor than expected.
To finish the process, I added 31.2 g of potassium hydroxide to balance the new biomass and restore proper alkalinity.
The mix has already started to darken again, and the smell is dropping fast.
This should push the hydrolysis toward completion.
Next step is pH testing โ if itโs in range, Iโll let it settle before starting the neutralization phase.
@THcHunteR23, Thank you๐, I'm hoping to use this one as an add on to the PK Micro version I'm already using so I'll have two distinct bottles FERMAKOR N(PK)+Micros and FERMAKOR PK(N)+micros, it works bro, already tested the PK version, next step is to try it from seed to harvest.
โ๏ธโค๏ธ
@Hattiwatti, It already works bro, it's just an add on that I will blend with my main FERMAKOR PK Micro nutrient mix fo a bit extra N and micros, test plant is already thriving, thanks for dropping by growmie ๐โฅ๏ธโ๏ธ
@TrickzGrowz, Lol bro, it doesn't smell much anymore, the procces turns the smell in a different direction once it's all soaked, first two to 4 days it's more of a chemical ammonia smell after that it Drifts towards soya/fish sauce smell earthy etc etc, of course the chemical "touch" is still there.
Have a good one and if you have any questions feel free to ask โ๏ธ โฅ๏ธ

I'll be deleting this comment, it's just a side note to add to the update
@MisterZ, It will work bro, the other versions I have running are all spot on for what I'm using them for, it's basically the same but more concentrated version of the 15-20โฌ bottle fish emulsions "we" growers throw money on lol, see you around bro and if you would like to try send me a DM โ๏ธโฅ๏ธ
looking good brother always love to see diaries that are growing with own created nutrients ๐ i wish you the best and i will definitely keep a eye on this diary !
