Decimotox Welcome to The Don Mega F1 v2! These were released as a Phoenix Club rotator on 12/22. Here we go!
I'd tossed these beans in a cup of water for about 22 hours, then moved to paper towel for ~32 hours. At that point, taproots on 3 of them were about 1.5 or 2 cm long, so I planted them. A fourth was showing a small taproot, but letting it grow a tiny bit more before planting. The remaining two haven't shown taproots yet, but we'll give them another 24-48 hours before considering them duds. They should be pretty fresh seeds. Feeling confident the last two will pop eventually.
Going to hopefully get a keeper female, but if not, we'll try again whenever these are "officially" released by Sol! Buckle up for some fun Don Mega magic!
**Update on 1/14 - As of 2 pm, we've planted 5 of the 6 Don Mega seeds! It appears one might've damped off at some point. It's out of the soil, but slumped and I'm not seeing leaves. Pending the fifth one, we should be able to call this 4/6 successful sprouts. We'll see! Added pics of all 5 cups and a blurry pic of a sprout! :)
**Update on 1/17 (formal update post on 1/19) - As of 2 pm today, we have 4 sprouts growing positively! One seedling did indeed damp off on 1/15, sadly. Unsure what I did but she didn't take. The sixth seed has cracked and is showing a taproot, but it hasn't grown in about 12 hours. Unsure if it's dead or just suuuuper slow. This seed had been in water/paper towel for several days (4-5) but not cracked, so I soaked her again in water for 6ish hours before taking some tweezers and squeezing a little to try and help crack the shell. It seemed to work - it cracked 12 hours later and showed taproot, but again, hasn't grown from there. Will plant it and see what happens, but thinking it's a dud. Calling it 4/6 sprouts for now! Will do a formal update on Monday.

Decimotox These babies are 1 week old today! #1 is 5 days old technically, but it's just as big as the other three somehow lol. I've heard that males grow faster but I have no concrete proof of that, so who knows. If you know, leave a comment and let me know lol. I've researched a bit via google but no real concrete proof. AI says yes but I don't trust AI.
Just been spraying with a water bottle for a week. Looking good so far!
Fun little note for observant folks - all four have their seed shells laying on the soil. As a little keepsake for the plants, I like to leave the shells present through transplant; when I turn them over to get them out of the solo cup, the shell falls into the new pot and lives forever in the root zone. Maybe it gets turned into more nutes, I dunno. Probably not. The shell is with the plant its whole life
