cloudrider Started one seed of SENSI SEEDS Sweet Cherry Kush. Germinated directly in soil in 4" container with plastic sandwich bag "greenhouse" hood. Seed sprouted after 78 hours. I have included time lapse photos of initial sprouting. Transplanted into 1 liter container on Day 2 after sprouting. Will water with PH balanced water (2 drops of PH Down per 64 ounces of water), then after one week will start alternating watering with a compost tea that consists of 1 teaspoon Craft Blend, 10 teaspoons worm castings, 1/2 teaspoon Hi-Brix and 8 drops SuperThrive per 64 ounces (half gallon). All water and compost tea is allowed to stand for 2 days in an open container and both will be PH balanced (PH of 6.5). Will continue on 24 hour light schedule for 2 weeks, then will switch to 18 hours for remainder of veg. BoomBox grow box has 32 watts of 5K LED lighting and uses a 4" Dayton fan on speed control to control wind for Low Stress Training to keep the plant short and squat (fan will be on continuously despite the light cycle). The plan is to veg. plant in grow box and then switch to tent for flowering.

cloudrider Hi, My SENSI Cherry Kush is motoring along nicely. Thick growth with short internodal length. The wind from the fan is the only Low Stress Training technique being used at this time. Will continue with 24 hours light for one more week and then will move to grow tent with 18 hours of light for another couple of weeks prior to flowering. Will top and train during that time. Alternating watering (PH balanced to 6.5) approx. every 3 days with half strength compost tea (see compost tea recipe) with 4 drops of SuperThrive per 64 ounces. Using 2 to 3 drops PH Down for every 64 ounces of water to balance PH (target of 6.5). Letting plant dry out prior to watering. TIP: Lift the pot to get a feel for the weight when dry (light) and wet (heavy).
Note: Special thanks to SENSI SEEDS for the fine genetics and the kind comments. Thanks for providing seeds to the USA.

cloudrider Hi Growers, My SENSI Cherry Kush is looking good. She was transplanted this week into a 3 gallon container with Roots Organics soil and moved to tent. The grow tent has a 100 watt Bloomspect LED quantum board with SMD diodes and MeanWell driver. Brightness is adjustable, so started first day at 25%, now at 50% brightness and will gradually increase to 100% over the next several days. The Air King fan is pretty strong even on the low setting. Currently on 18/6 light cycle.
Plant was topped at Day 18. I try to take as little as possible when topping (see photos). Will continue with veg for another two weeks while doing LST and then will switch to 12/12 for flowering. Alternating watering (PH balanced) approx. every 3 days with full strength compost tea blend (see compost tea recipe with 4 drops SuperThrive per 64 ounces). Photos show plant from beginning of week to end of Week 3 (12 cm after topping).
Happy growing!

cloudrider Hi Growers, The SENSI Cherry Kush is motoring along nicely. She was not fazed by the topping last week and I started light LST on Day 24. Plant is 17 cm tall and has thick growth with large Indica fan leaves. I have increased the light to approx. 65% brightness and will continue to gradually increase the brightness over the next several days. Will stay on 18/6 light cycle for veg for another week while doing LST and then will decide if I want to switch to 12/12 for flowering or continue with veg for another week. Still alternating every other watering with the compost tea blend (see compost tea recipe with 4 drops SuperThrive per 64 ounces). Photos show plant from beginning of week to near the end of Week 4 (17 cm). Using 5-6 drops PH Down for every gallon of water to balance PH (target of 6.5).

cloudrider Hi Growers, Switched to flowering (12/12 light cycle) on Day 35.
Plant is now 25 cm tall and is showing robust growth. Completed light defoliation to open up the canopy which included removing lower set of fan leaves and lowest set of branches which were not getting enough light. Now have 3 nodes, so 6 branches to train. Using LST to control height. This plant wants to go big!
Still alternating watering (PH balanced) approx. every 3 days and full strength compost tea blend (see compost tea recipe with 4 drops SuperThrive per 64 ounces). Using approx. 6 drops PH Down for every gallon of water to balance PH (target of 6.5).
Happy growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers, The Sweet Cherry Kush is motoring along nicely and is enjoying the tent by herself. One week into flower (12/12 light cycle) she is starting to want to stretch. She is now 30 cm tall, but I am controlling height with LST.
I am watering (PH balanced) approx. every 3 days and then alternating with the full strength compost tea blend (which consists of 1 teaspoon Craft Blend, 10 teaspoons worm castings, full teaspoon Hi-Brix and 4 drops SuperThrive per 64 ounces). Note: I have increased the Hi-Brix to a full teaspoon per 64 ounces for flowering. Continue to let water stand for 2 days and balancing PH with a target of 6.5. Keep on growing!

cloudrider Day 49 Update:
Completed second week of flowering and the Sensi Kush has filled out the tent nicely. The Kush has fat fan leaves, so she definitely has some heavy indica genetics. She is now 32 cm tall and has produced a fairly even canopy with the gentle touch of some LST. There is pistil development forming, although she is still early in flowering (14 days). There are lots of budding sites, so the potential is there.
I have done a light defoliation of the lower canopy to open up the under story and I have left the lower fan leaves which are tucked into the under story (I could remove them as there is not much light getting through the canopy). Still using LST to control height, although she has pretty much filled out the tent with her own little sea of green, so will be letting her go from here and raise the light along the way. I will stay on the 12/12 light schedule for the remainder of flowering.
She is in 16" x 22" tent (recycled greenhouse frame with panda film wrap) powered by a 100 watt Bloomspect quantum board with SMD diodes and MeanWell driver. This is a fairly basic LED light, so the light spectrum tends to be a little harsh compared to the horticultural rated bulbs (Samsung LM301H & LM301H EVO). To compensate, I've found that the light spectrum is more plant friendly a little farther away, so I try to keep it fairly high in the tent (for my set up around 22" is the sweet spot). If the light is too close (less than 18 inches) it can stress the plant (although some plants can handle it better than others).
Still alternating watering (PH balanced) now every other day and the full strength compost tea blend (see last week). Using approx. 6 drops PH Down for every gallon of water to balance PH (target of 6.5). Keep on growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers,
The Sweet Cherry Kush is on Day 56 and has completed 3 weeks of flowering. Color is still good and plant vigor is strong. She has nice pistil development forming, although she is slow to turn She will probably need a solid 9 weeks+ of flowering, although that is part of the fun of this journey. I like watching the development from this state of flower to really packing it on and getting chunky. She is now 35 cm tall and has some limited stretch, although is still very compact and has a fairly even canopy.
I completed a defoliation of the lower canopy and middle to open up the canopy. I have included mid-week photos showing the before and after. I still have the garden wires in place left over from LST, although I have not tried anything else to control height. I have been on the 12/12 light schedule and will do so for the remainder. I have reduced the amount of nitrogen in the tea, increased the HiBrix (molasses) and reduced PH slightly to 6.3. She is quite thirsty and I am watering or feeding (alternating) around a liter every other day. The compost tea blend is 5 teaspoons worm castings, 1 teaspoon Craft Blend, 1 teaspoon HiBrix and 4 drops SuperThrive per half gallon (I let the tea sit for 2-3 days). Plant response has been positive. As Skunkydog420 likes to say, "She is growing very beautifully and is not causing any trouble."
Looking forward to the next weeks! Keep on growing!

cloudrider Update: Day 63
Completed the fourth week of flowering and she is starting to thicken up. Bud development is starting to stack together and pistil development is strong. She is 38 cm tall and stretching appears to be mostly done (she has had relatively minimal stretch). Color has been good with no yellow fading. I will complete light defoliation as needed (will need it done in the course of this week).
The light is at 22 inches from top of the plant and I will stay on the 12/12 light schedule for the remainder of flowering. Over the last two weeks I have been feeding with a flowering compost tea blend which I have reduced the amount of nitrogen in the tea, increased the HiBrix (molasses) and reduced PH to 6.2. She is still fairly thirsty and I am watering or feeding (alternating) around 1 liter every other day. The compost tea blend is 5 teaspoons worm castings, 1 teaspoon Craft Blend, 1 teaspoon HiBrx and 4 drops SuperThrive per half gallon (I let the tea sit for 2-3 days). This is where the fun starts! Keep on growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers,
Day 70: The Sweet Cherry Kush has completed the 5th week of flowering and she is starting to pack it on. A nice layer of resin forming on the tops and bud development is stacking together. She is 40 cm tall, which was the result of releasing the remaining garden wires from LST (stretching is done...she has had minimal stretch). She has strong stems, this is a plant that doesn't need additional support. I completed light defoliation of the middle canopy (mid-week) to open up light to the tops.
The light is at 22 inches and I am on 12/12 light schedule. I am watering with half strength flowering compost tea blend with a PH to 63.2. She still is carrying a nice green color (no yellow fading). I plan on keeping with the feeding schedule until I start the flush with water in the last 10-14 days. Looking forward to the smoke report! Keep on growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers,
Day 77: The Sweet Cherry Kush has completed the 6th week of flowering and I moved her to a separate tent with Lil Joe and Grapefruit (see other diaries). I needed this tent to veg my outdoor garden plants (I have cherry tomatoes and hot peppers). She is packing it on nicely with decent bud formation. Trichome production is still lackluster, although I am being spoiled by my other plants that are turning into crystal balls (I'm looking at you Grapefruit). There is very little smell, so it is a good plant for stealth grows. I will continue with light defoliation as necessary although for the most part she is on her own from here.
I am feeding with the half strength flowering compost tea blend with a PH to 6.3. She is not as thirsty, and I am watering or feeding (alternating) around 0.75 liter every other day. The compost tea blend is 5 teaspoons worm castings, 1 teaspoon Craft Blend, 1 teaspoon HiBrx and 4 drops SuperThrive per half gallon (I let the tea sit for 2-3 days then add the SuperThrive before watering). She still is still carrying a nice green color with no yellow fading. I will stay on this feeding schedule until I start the flush with water in the last 10-14 days. Based on her progress, it is looking like she will need at least 9 weeks, so I might start the flush in the next 4-5 days. Will keep you posted on her progress, although I have to say I am being spoiled by my other plants in the tent (Grapefruit and Lil Joe). Keep on growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers,
Day 84: The Sweet Cherry Kush has completed 7 weeks of flowering and she is packing it on nicely. Trichome production is building and is still all clear with no cloudy or amber heads. Plant vigor and color is good with some purple starting to appear. I have removed lower fan leaves and will continue with light defoliation up until harvest. There is still very little smell, so this is a good strain for stealth grows.
I have been feeding with the half strength flowering compost tea blend (I mix the compost tea 50/50 with water PH 6.5). She is not as thirsty and and I am watering or feeding (alternating) every third day now (I let her dry out pretty good before watering to avoid over watering). The compost tea blend is 5 teaspoons worm castings, 1 teaspoon Craft Blend, 1 teaspoon HiBrix and 4 drops SuperThrive per half gallon (I let the tea stand for 2-3 days then add the SuperThrive before watering). Based on her progress, it is looking like she will need a solid 9 weeks, so I will do one more feeding and then start the flush for the last 10-14 days (followed by 36 hours of darkness before the chop). Overall, the Cherry Kush is starting to look good and this has been a solid week of fattening up. Looking forward to tasting some sweet smoke. Thanks to Sensi Seeds for some fine genetics and keep on growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers,
Day 90: The Sensi Cherry Kush has completed 8 weeks of flowering and she is packing it on. Trichome production which was slow to start has been building steadily and still has mostly clear heads. Calyxes are starting to swell and pistils are turning amber orange. There is beginning to be some smell with a musky berry hash aroma (it is pleasant enough although difficult to describe). Plant vigor is still strong and purple hues are coming along. She has minimal yellow fading and her color is still good.
I started to flush the middle of the week and I will continue with water (PH 6.5) for the remainder of flowering. I have removed some leaves and will continue manicuring up until harvest. Overall, the Cherry Kush has been making solid progress the last 2 weeks with buds that are stacking together and starting to glisten. It looks like another 7-10 days then 36 hours of darkness prior to the chop. She is looking potent and I am excited to get the cure done with the reward of some top shelf stash! Thanks again to Sensi Seeds for the fine genetics. Thanks to all the growers who have followed along on this journey. The finish line is close! Keep on growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers,
Day 98 is in the books and the Sensi Sweet Cherry Kush has completed 9 weeks of flowering. Buds have stacked together and continue to pack on weight. Trichome production has been frosting over nicely and there is a mix of clear and cloudy heads. Calyxes are starting to swell and pistils are a mix of white and amber orange. There is a pungent skunky odor starting to form in the room with a musky berry hash aroma at the tops. Color is still a solid green with some purple hues on leaves and buds. The plant structure is nice and solid, with 6 strong branches as a result of the topping and training completed.
I have continued flushing with water (PH 6.5). Plant vigor has started to slow down and she is not quite as thirsty. I let the plant dry out pretty good between watering and then water fully so there is some draining from the bottom. She is not done yet, so I am going to go another week. This will give a good idea of what the time line should be for this strain and there is no need to cut it short. Overall, the Cherry Kush has been making solid progress and the buds are fattening up nicely and starting to glisten. This is looking like a potent strain and I don't mind maximizing the heavy "couch lock" effects if I let her go a little farther along (maybe 20% amber trichomes). Thanks again to Sensi Seeds for the special beans. Thanks to all the growers who have followed along on this journey. The finish line is close. Stay in the clouds my friends! Keep on growing!

cloudrider Hello Growers,
The Sensi Sweet Cherry Kush completed 10 weeks plus 3 days of flowering (73 days of flowering/108 days total) and the finish line is here. Trichomes are a mix of approx. 80% cloudy white and 20% amber (I take several high resolution close up photos and magnify them on my computer screen to see the trichomes). Calyxes are fully swollen and pistils are mostly amber orange. She has chunked up with heavy solid buds and frosted over nicely with a greasy layer. There is a pungent skunky odor wafting from the room and the tops have a musky berry hash aroma. Color is still good with no yellow fading and some purple hues on leaves and buds.
I went approx. 3 weeks flushing with water (PH 6.5), which is a little longer then I typically go. I manicured the last of the fan leaves and left her for 36 hours in darkness prior to the chop with the help of my little friend "Chopper." I will dry slowly and cure over the next month, so I will update in about 2 weeks with the Harvest log, recap of the grow and the all important smoke report! Overall, the Cherry Kush finished strongly over the last 3-4 weeks producing some solid greasy buds. I let her go the full distance to see the impact on flavor and potency. Thanks again to Sensi Seeds for providing the superior genetics and thanks to all the growers who have followed along on this journey. Stay in the clouds my friends! Keep on growing!
Hello Growers, The finish line is here and the Sensi Sweet Cherry Kush has really delivered. Total harvest (dried) was 69 grams, so almost 2.5 ounces from a 16" x 22" tent with a 100 watt quantum board. That is more than an ounce per square foot, so this plant is a heavy producer. This was an easy plant to grow and chunked up nicely towards the end. The buds have a colorful mix of light green and orange with some red/purple hues and shimmer with an icy layer of frost. She has a pungent skunky odor with a musky berry hash pine aroma with light cherry notes. The smoke is very balanced and smooth, delivering a potent expanding earthy berry spice with a light sweet finish. The high is cerebral at first followed by a potent long lasting Indica kick. The cure continues to bring out the flavors and it is still too early to fully evaluate the taste. The Sweet Cherry Kush is a heavyweight producer of dense solid buds that ooze with resin. This strain has a top shelf terpene profile with smooth flavorful smoke and very good bag appeal. I give it a 10 and would recommend this strain if looking for a heavy producing indica leaning hybrid. Thanks again to Sensi Seeds for providing the quality genetics and to all my fellow growers for following along on this journey. Stay in the clouds my friends! Keep on growing!

cloudrider The Sensi Sweet Cherry Kush completed 73 days of flowering (35 days of veg for a total of 108 days). Trichomes were a mix of approx. 80-85% milky white and 15-20% amber. Calyxes were fully swollen and pistils were mostly amber orange. She chunked up with heavy solid buds and frosted over nicely with a greasy layer. The plant maintained good color throughout and ended with red/purple hues. The Cherry Kush really added weight over the last 3-4 weeks with solid dense nugs. I went the full distance to hopefully maximize flavor and potency.
She was flushed for approx. 3 weeks and had 36 hours of darkness prior to the chop. I will continue to cure and the terpene profile continues to build. Thanks again to Sensi Seeds for providing the superior genetics. Stay in the clouds my friends! Keep on growing!
P.S. My little friend Chopper took his pay and is moving on for the summer due to lack of work.
Sensi Strain Info: The lineage of Sweet Cherry Kush is full of popular genetics. It all started with a Durban and a Hindu Kush being crossed. The resulting offspring was then crossed to an OG Kush, which was also crossed with another plant that consisted of Diesel, Haze, and Hindu Kush. This hybrid plant looks most like the OG Kush in stature. Sweet Cherry Kush seeds grow into cannabis plants representative of their 60% indica lineage. Lush green foliage covers the stocky frame, which reaches a medium stature by harvest time. Compact internodal spacing and sturdy branches produce numerous heavy buds stacked onto this bushy plant. Bud formation on the Sweet Cherry Kush consists of chunky flowers with densely packed bracts. The buds form thicker colas, unlike the loose and airy Haze genetics in the lineage. Flowers are very resinous, and the plethora of shimmering trichome heads seem to dance in the light. Buds are mainly dark green with accents of purple hues in the later stages of flowering.
Connections to the sativa leaning Diesel are easy to discern in the terpene profile, while the Durban and Haze impart their genetics in the flavor. Traits of the indica lineage from the Hindu Kush and OG Kush are most noticeable in the morphology. The flavors of Sweet Cherry Kush are a concoction of items rarely found in cannabis flowers. Complex and conflicting tastes merge into one, while still remaining identifiable. It is the fresh picked cherries flavor that is the first to stand out. A light pine flavor and sandalwood temper the cherries tartness. Lingering behind all of this are the refreshing notes of citrus and mint. It is an odd combination that creates a masterpiece for the mouth. Sweet Cherry Kush also has a multi-layered terpene profile. As the nose passes over a jar of cured flower, sweet and earthy aromas are the first to hit the senses. Very close behind them is an overpowering diesel scent that nearly burns the nose. As the burn is retreating, right there to fill the void is a heavenly scent of fresh picked cherries. The combination of diesel and cherries is captivating.
Leafly Strain Info: A cross between Purple Afghani and OG Kush, Cherry Kush is a very potent indica-dominant hybrid that has become very popular with medical patients in the SF Bay Area. Sometimes called Cherry Pie, these flowers range from a bright, vibrant green to a darker, purple-tinged red color, and boast a dense coating of trichomes. The flavor is reminiscent of cherries with a woody, hashy undertone, and the high starts out as stimulating and cerebral before fading into a deep feeling of relaxation.

@DapperDabber, Thanks, I am happy with the result and looking forward to some top shelf smoke. She packed on the weight all the way to the end, so I would let your plants go the full distance (70+ days). I added some HiBrix (molasses) to help bring on the cherry sweetness:)
@GreenHobbit, Thanks! This is a heavy producer even in a small tent with only 100 watt qb. She really needs a proper tent with 200+ watts and maybe SCROG or mainline to maximize the indoor harvest. I have a greenhouse grow starting and I am including a Cherry Kush, so I hope to see her full potential!
@Stony_German, Thank you Stony.German! I manicured pretty good before the chop, so trimming jail should not be too bad and at least the smoke is provided:) And yes, Chopper is a great help and is always ready to do some more chopping!
