BC_Green - These seeds are about one year old (and glad I’m to have them as current inventory is sold out for my region), stored in their original packaging in the fridge (with tape covering the plastic window to block light) - 1/26 I took them out of the fridge around 11am to warm to room temperature then moved them onto damp paper towels at 2pm - 1 seed was placed in a damp (using melted and warmed snow for water) paper towel resting on plastic wrap in a partially closed brown paper bag stored in a dark cabinet on an interior wall (this will act as a control in my tiny experiment) - 2 other seeds were put in the same conditions, but in a different bag with one ripe (brown spots starting to form) banana for ethylene exposure to see if the seedlings grow at different rates inspired by this article https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4193209/#:~:text=Ethylene%20is%20an%20important%20component,seed%20germination%20and%20seedling%20establishment. - All seeds produced radicles in less than 68 hours (please note that using a paper bag requires more frequent visits to dampen the paper towel as it dries faster than sealed in a plastic bag and therefore I ended up adding a little potting mix to help keep it damp) and were moved into small containers with 50% reused pro mix bx, 40% coco coir, and 10% perlite - I used a low strength fertilizer dose (about a ¼ strength of my fertilizer blend) consisting of 0.03 g mono potassium phosphate (0-52-34), 0.09 g potassium nitrate (13.5-0-46.2), 0.5 g soy hydrolysate (12-0-0) in ¼ gal of melted and warmed snow (for on my fertilizer strategy check out week 26 of my Fruity Freak grow) https://growdiaries.com/diaries/251325-hi-elevation-genetics-fruity-freak-grow-journal-by-torrens - For light, I am using 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark, and I am starting at DLI 12 and will generally follow the recommendations in this link https://growlightmeter.com/lighting-requirements-of-cannabis-over-the-full-grow-cycle/ - Temp 72 day / 68 night - Humidity currently 35 (will need to boost with a humidifier, currently misting seedlings with rain water in a spray bottle) - The first 12 or so weeks I will grow here in my basement (free heat), and once the weather is warm I will move this grow to an outdoor shed and flip to flower (to keep the smell outside) - 1/31 all three began breaking through the soil - As of today (2/2) we're off to a great start!

BC_Green So far the control plant (currely 3.25”) in my small experiment with ethylene exposure during germination appears to be outperforming the experiment plants (one is 2.25” and the other is 2”)—very interesting (although difficult to make conclusions with such a small sample size) I fertilized at the end of this week with a ¼ gal room temp snow melt using approximately ½ dose of my mix of fertilizer: - 1 ml Prevengenics Microgenics 0.75% (for micronutrients) - 0.25 g mono-potassium phosphate (0-52-34) - 0.68 g potassium nitrate (13.5-0-46.2) - 1.76 g soy hydrolysate (12-0-0) - DLI was 16 this week Growth appears on pace when comparing other diaries with the same strain–and they're looking healthy! I’m definitely excited to grow this strain, as Durban Poison is a favorite, and the combination with Frisian Dew should make for a disease resistant plant with quality yield! https://dutch-passion.com/en/cannabis-seeds/durban-dew
