Week 1. Vegetation

I bought this clone on 04/28 ; I'm writing this on 05/19. I will have put her through a lot of abuse in early stages of development over next couple of weeks, and at points wasn't sure she'd survive. Right now I'm just trying to do right by her and keep her alive and show her I'm not a monster. and hopefully be able to take some clones from her later and keep her legacy going! This all started on first full day of an 8 day trip to SoCal. I bought her in a dixie cup and put her front and center on the dashboard of our rental car, wedged inside a neck pillow to prevent toppling over; she had been sliding back and forth all over the dash for a few days but got to share our semi-roadtrip experience from San Diego, to Joshua Tree, to LA, to Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Solvang, and then back to LA. I did my best to not make any sharp turns or I would yell "BRACE!" to my shotgunner every so often. I really don't know what I'm doing, but I'm learning along the way. The next week is not for the faint of heart.

Week 2. Vegetation

So after our 8 days in SoCal, I shipped her 2 day shipping on 05/04 after getting her some sun and water, and received her on 05/06 at night. I was incredibly anxious and rightfully so, because it had seemed I killed my Blue. She felt petrified and incredibly hard. I only had about 2 hours of sun left in the day so I put her out, gave her some water, and put her under a humidifier / mister. When I return home the next evening (05/07) she actually has opened up and leaves feel hydrated. She still looks terrible but a huge sigh of relief. We have survived week 2. Day by day coverage in this week's photo captions. The coming weeks hopefully have a lot less updates and a lot less eventful... We are using - Miracle Grow Potting Mix (I later learn this is bad and can lead to nutrient burn, however I learn BD needs a lot of nitrogen which is usually main issue w/ M.Gro so I'll monitor the tips of leaves for burn - Fabric Pot (1 gallon) - I learn the glass thing was really stupid and terrible for roots, and that I can't be transplanting all the time - Tap Water, Brita Water (I don't know) - Cheap grow light (27W rated) to supplement sunlight in rainy weather and to give me the needed 18-24 hrs of daylight - Essential oil diffuser as a humidifier (without oils)

She seems to be growing every day slowly and has been stable! We haven't been getting much sun so I've been using the grow light (in conjunction w/ natural light) starting about sunrise to midday, and then again from around 6pm to about 1AM. I added MycoBloom (Mycorrizhae) on 05/15 but not sure if that has done anything since roots already established. I try to only water every 2-2.5 days but it's not enough on sunny days. the tomatoes seem to have the same water needs and soil moisture. I've been filling up a 2 cup mason jar and splitting that between the 3 plants so maybe 0.67 cups of water each. I'm not really sure how I'm doing but she seems to be growing and progressing each day so I'm hopeful. To do: Buy something to monitor soil pH? Buy something to monitor water pH? Probably will have to buy a stronger LED if she keeps going well. Thinking the Roleadro off Amazon that is 1500w and goes for about $110.00

05/21: I just got a Roleadro 1500w grow light delivered (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NXX3HW9/ref=twister_B07R7VH6FH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) ; It was $101 after promo. I currently have it set up at about 2.5 feet away. It draws 227-228w. 05/23: she seems to be responding really well to the 1500w light. The tomatoes have been very sensitive to sunlight, drooping and needing watering after full day exposure, but seem to like the grow light very much. I think I need to repot to my 5 gallon pots for the tomatoes soon, as they are needing more frequent watering. Not sure about Blue. 05/26: end the week at 13.5"

For the past 10-12 days she's been growing a lot both vertically and horizontally and added about 40% height (10.5" to 14.75"). I'm having trouble with the watering and have been both underwatering and overwatering. Those days there is little to no growth. 05/29 - she's 14.5" and underwatered. I decide to go ahead with repotting from 1 to 7 gal since I have better soil and drainage/aeration (FFOF, organic perlite). I spray diluted seaweed extract (which i just got delivered) on roots, give a little water, and she becomes undroopy in about 2 hours. The root system didn't look that developed so that worries me very much, but we'll see. I have the Fox Farms Trio of nutrients being delivered within next few days, as well as blackstrap unsulfured molasses.

Haven't been updating - not because she's dead, but because I've been lazy and it's annoying transferring photos from my phone to PC. In this 6th week, I started training her so I stop recording height measurements. Canopy around 15". I've switched to a very regular light schedule same time every day at 18-6

Oops I guess I hadn't taken any photos for 10 days and they are all under the grow light... In this week I'm starting to see a lot of the white pistiles and I think that's really bad. I don't know. I did make sure I don't have any light leakages though. Also, the very first stems/leaves from the original mother plant (that had been cut in half for cloning) have started to die off (but that started last week I think) so I've pruned them off. Maybe this is nutrient burn from the Fox Farm Micro/Grow nutrients that I've been using. Otherwise not really seeing any signs of burn.

Ok I finally got some photos without the grow light and she's starting to fill out on the canopy; I'm wondering if it's about time to switch to 12/12 light. I also want to take some clones in the next few days.
