Dr_Sam I soaked them in water for 12 hours, then placed them under cotton pads. After a day, I put them in Root Riot and in pots with expanded clay. Until the roots reach the solution, I will water manually with a syringe. The solution in the tank has less than half the dosage of nutrients according to the label (EC-0.7), since my tap water has an EC of 0.4.

Dr_Sam Unfortunately, one of the seedlings didn't survive, so I had to plant Gorilla Melon from FustBuds in its place, planted the germinated seed on 07.03. For the Super Boof, while the roots hadn't reached the solution yet, I diluted 2/3 of the solution with water for watering. I should mention that my tap water is hard (EC=0.3), so I added less nutrients to the reservoir for now. Yesterday, one of the roots poked through the soil and started to get the solution for feeding by itself. So far, I haven't noticed any problems or peculiarities. The humidity is too low, so I'll be setting up a humidifier in the coming days. I'll explain the pot arrangement; it was initially planned to have 2 plants that would occupy the box, each on a diagonal. The third one will be a "test subject" (Gorilla), as I want to try topping on it. Let's see what comes of it!

Dr_Sam Hey everyone. The third week has brought quite a few troubles that I haven't really dealt with before. At the beginning of the week, I changed the solution and added Fulvic and Seaweed to the mix, and after about 6 hours, it started to foam up. For 3-4 days, I was removing foam from the solution three times a day; I mostly blame the Seaweed since it's my first time using it, and I added half the dose according to the label, in portions, not all at once. I also tried Silicate for the first time, also from T.A., and so far I don't see any benefits on the hydro side, just big downsides. Does anyone have experience using Silicate/Seaweed in hydro, what do you think?

Dr_Sam Over the week, I gradually raised the EC to 1.3. Next week, I'll replace the solution and set up the SCROG. A slight smell is starting to appear, so in a couple of days, I'll install a carbon filter. I decided not to do any topping or fimming, as I initially planned for Fast Buds.

Dr_Sam Hello everyone. Last week, I completely replaced the solution, rinsed/cleaned the entire system and roots mechanically. This is the first and last time I'm using Seaweed and Silicate from T.A. Together with Fulvic, they foam up the solution heavily on the third day, clogging the aerators, and a film forms absolutely everywhere, on the sensors, on the walls of the tank and pots, as well as on the roots, which hinders the plants from getting oxygen. And all this, considering that the "new formula" of Silicate allows adding it directly to the tank with the solution, but I still decided to steep this "mix" and added it without sediment at the bottom. For now, I think it's just dumb marketing; at least in hydro, the standard Tripart line is quite enough. I’ll share my thoughts on Ripen later. I put an aquarium filter in the solution tank to minimize the problem. This week, I’m starting to trim the excess foliage. I stretched the net, but I messed up by not starting to bend them 😁 - we'll be improvising as we go to fill the empty space in the box)) SBoof isn't tall according to the specs, which can't be said about Gorilla, so I'll be trying to stretch her more.

Dr_Sam I adjusted the solution for the pre-flowering stage. I trimmed the leaves a week ago, and I won't touch them until they start to flower to avoid stress.

Dr_Sam Well, what can I say. So far, I'm not very satisfied, and there are several reasons for that. The first is the difference in the flowering time of the plants; Fast Buds has a longer flowering period + it was planted a week later. Also, one of the Boof is already showing milky trichomes, but in my opinion, it looks like it hasn't gained enough mass yet. The second reason is that the roots clogged the return pipes, even considering that I installed pipes with a larger diameter than those through which the solution flows. Because of this, there was some stagnation in some places, overflow in others, and some burning)) The third reason is that due to certain difficulties (weather conditions), I had to switch the lamp to 800 W instead of 1000. The fourth is that I'm not entirely sure if I made the right decision this time to go without Ripen. We'll see what the results will be, but for now, I just want to finish this not-so-successful grow as quickly as possible.
