Firstgrowever Germinated this one in a glass of water with a 1:2 mix of 10-vol hydrogen peroxide and water until she sank, then moved her to damp cotton pads as Dutch Passion recommends. This is my first time growing and I'm amazed by the speed of it all. Fingers crossed!
The first week was a bit of a struggle. She got stuck twice trying to sprout. First was a stubborn helmet head, and once the shell was off, the inner membrane was still holding the leaves shut. She stretched a little bit since she was in the dark under the shell for 2 whole days, but she's looking fine now. A little behind schedule, but healthy and ready to grow.

Firstgrowever The first few days for this Auto Skywalker Haze were quite eventful, as you can see in the photos. She emerged with 'helmet head' (stuck seed shell) and a stubborn inner membrane that wouldn't let the cotyledons open. I had to perform delicate surgery to free her.
This early battle caused some initial stretching while she was trapped and searching for light. To correct this, I buried the excess stem, a technique that worked perfectly.
Despite the stressful beginning, she has recovered with incredible vigor. She is looking very healthy and strong now. The first set of true leaves is already well-developed, and the second set of leaves is already starting to emerge from the center node. Looking forward to seeing how she develops in Week 2!

Firstgrowever I think i misswater her, i think these spots might be pH problems and the light was too close, took it away to 200 ppfd (was close to 300).
Well, i corrected it and will be watching for more problems. I knew first grower problems exist, but damn, well, at least she is growing :)

Firstgrowever Started LST, kind of afraid of straining her too much as its my first grow. She is healthy for what i can see, hopping to see how she reacts to very small LST

Firstgrowever Well, another week goes by and she keeps growing but looks like she's late compared to other month old flowers i see in this site.
Furthermore, I think I'm doing LST wrong as it looks like i just turned the top a little bit.

Firstgrowever Well, fifth week is done and to me she looks just fine. She started pre-flowering, just begun showing its pistils.
One thing that kept me on my toes was the yellowing of the first leaves, the first pair just got completelly yellow and the next one is kind of yellowing, some advice ? I'm trying not to stress her too much as it's my first grow and people told me that auto flowers are more sensible to stress. Said that, i'm using a scrog net to kinda separate the "tops".

Firstgrowever Another week another problem, right ?
Well, she is kinda recovering from a defficiency due soil salinization (been watering with low runoff, last runoff the pH was 5.15, so i'm ajusting it a little higher than usual) but i'm correcting it and hopping shes allright, she looks like shes getting better as new leaves are bright green and sher growing her tops fine :)

Firstgrowever Well, she's still alive and kicking! My Carolina Soil lost all of its buffer capacity and the pH dropped down to 5.0. She is definitely a survivor, but taking a beating — paying the price with a lot of her leaves yellowing and dying off. The buds are still fattening up, though!
Like we would say in portuguese "Life ain't a strawberry" :)
As it was my first grow, i cant compare it with anything. It was kinda easy but she suffered as i didnt knew the fabric buffer of carolina soil wouldnt last till the end, if i knew if before i would buffer it again or complement the watering with some cal-mag. I think she's pretty resistent as she kept going even with the adverse events.
Well, i'll came back after its dry to comment again.

Firstgrowever Hey everyone,
She was my first grow. It was a bumpy ride, but we finally made it to the finish line!
It's an Auto Skywalker Haze from Dutch Passion, grown with synthetic salts (Plant Prod + magnesium sulfate + calcium nitrate + MKP) in a 60x60cm (2x2 ft) tent under two 65W LM281B quantum boards.
This little lady went through a severe pH issue in her final weeks of flower. Apparently, the Carolina Soil (50/50 peat moss and perlite) lost its buffer around week 6 or 7, so the runoff pH dropped to 4.5 - 5.0. I tried adding potassium silicate and feeding with an input pH of 7 to balance it out, but the leaves kept yellowing and falling off anyway (at least the dry trim will be easier in a few days lol). Well, shit happens... that's what you get for choosing an auto and synthetic nutes for your very first run.
I chopped her today at 11 weeks and 6 days (let's just call it 12 weeks? lol) with about 90% milky trichomes and a few amber ones just starting to show up.
Could someone with a better eye help me guesstimate the final dry yield so I can buy some mason jars for curing? For scale, the tent is a 2x2 and I didn't do any lollipopping (she basically did it herself lol).
Damn that's an impressive first grow! Hope the smoke is good and future grows are even better! To try and answer your harvest question, I think you want to aim for about 28g (dry) per mason jar if you are using 32oz wide mouth jars. Assuming you plan on growing more, you're probably safe getting 3-5 jars, and any extra can be for the next one! (Edit) - Now that I think about it more, I think it's less dependent on dry weight and more about how full the jar is. You just want to leave air at the top of the jar so that way you can shake them up and keep the nugs from clumping.
@Firstgrowever, last harvest I got around 300g wet per plant (drying almost the whole plant) and 50g dry. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong but my dry yield has always been between 10-20% of wet weight, rather than the 30% you hear a lot.
@Firstgrowever, I was VERY pleased with that harvest! What I meant was that I heard that 30% ballpark figure for dry vs wet weight (what @Kali_flauer mentioned as well) a couple times before and so far I've never gotten that much dry yield percentage wise.
@Firstgrowever, 50g from your first harvest is great! Especially an auto since those will only get so big. For reference, my first grow had a dry weight of 10g 😂
Quite good first grow IMO, no need to really care about leaves going yellow at the end, it's not bad, as long as it's not everything in some days. Good job mate
