During the day, she's still outside in the greenhouse and is moved into the grow box at night for a few extra hours of light. Next week, I'll be doing some topping.

birdmountain This is no longer the small delicate Fruit Bomb Punch fighting for survival, no, she has conquered the pot and its nutrients and is showing her potential. She has been topped and is developing strong side branches. She will now stay a full 24 hours in the grow tent, the weather allows it now.

birdmountain She's developing very well. She has recovered from the topping and has become stronger overall. Next week, after the Ice Saints, she will be transplanted into her final pot. She shows very broad, indica-like leaves, which usually change during the flowering period. Otherwise, she is healthy and shows no signs of deficiencies, but she will be prepared for repotting next week with a portion of vinasse and seaweed.

birdmountain She has rooted through the small pot and urgently needs to be repotted in the next few days. Other than that, she has almost the perfect stature for an outdoor plant, a strong main stem, and symmetrically branching limbs that will respond well to topping. As the Ice Saints are coming to an end, there’s a lot of work ahead in the next few days with soil preparation for the large pot where I want to transplant her to her final location. 😅

birdmountain She's developing splendidly, was transplanted into the final pot this week, with recycled soil, perlite, and algae meal. BioBizz PreMix & horn meal were added. Hopefully, I was able to sort out all the grubs while mixing with my fingers. They were mostly the grubs of the rose beetles that are flying around again to lay eggs before they die. Since the soil is probably quite low in nutrients, or the organic fertilizers need to be activated first, I'm currently also fertilizing with sugar beet molasses. Additional Cannazym doses are supposed to help replace the old roots and release nutrients. Finally, the carrying around has come to an end, now begins the time of hauling water, for which the drip irrigation needs to be installed next week, and the water will be sourced from the cistern or well or spring. birdmountain Due to the hot days this week, it was watered at least twice daily, always mixed with vinasse. It shows strong growth, and it has already surpassed the second topping. I'm very satisfied and hope it continues like this. However, it does show very slight deficiency symptoms at the leaf tips, which have decreased since I increased the nutrient dosage. Its stature is quite open with not particularly wide leaves and a strong branching structure. A fruity scent from rubbing the stems is only faintly present so far. Thank you for your visit!

birdmountain It was a very rainy and partly stormy week. This time is called "sheep cold" here, the time when sheep were already sheared and then a short cold period set in. Very changeable windy weather anyway. Fruit Bomb Punch has grown well without support and has become very bushy overall. The increase in the amount of liquid fertilizer has been well received by her. It grows very evenly without much care effort, aside from watering and fertilizing, which was almost impossible this week due to all the rain. I suspect some of the nutrients were washed out by the rain. ---- And across the hard plain crawled strange, brown, cigar-shaped creatures with antennas at the end of which were greedy, round eyes, always ready to climb the almost vertical walls of the fortresses under the cover of tropical moisture. No commander gave them orders; only the desire to scale the fortress to escape the coming drought drove them on. ---

birdmountain My satisfaction with the Fruit Bomb Punch is growing with every week. It is showing steady growth, which this week amounted to 26 cm; it has no signs of drought damage, which means it is managing its water more efficiently. Its leaves are all of a uniform size but not overly large, unlike those of the Blueberry or the Seven Freeze. It was a hot week, with temperatures reaching 35°C at times during the day and heat thunderstorms at night. I prepared 20 l of seaweed extract; the plants seem to be tolerating it well and show no signs of deficiency so far. I hope the Fruit Bomb Punch continues to grow just as well in the coming weeks. birdmountain The pictures were taken early in the morning, hence the strong backlight. In this heat, it's better to do outdoor activities in the morning. What a week; temperature records were broken, still over 40° C in my region. It had to be watered multiple times 💦, the Fruit Bomb Punch also occasionally drooped its leaves, but fortunately, there were no drying damages like with the Blueberry the week before. 18 cm growth despite the heat and a nice bushy growth is quite decent. However, the spacing between the plants is getting smaller, so I will need to move them a bit apart. No pest damage No drying damage No wind breakage No under-fertilization (maybe a bit too much) Actually boring... but the goal is a healthy outdoor plant with a good yield. birdmountain Fruit Bomb Punch "The Expansive". It's getting wider and wider, so I already had to rearrange the large plant pots so they don't stand too close together, which could affect the harvest and also spread diseases faster. It's starting to stretch; I'm curious if it will break the two-meter height limit. Thanks to the pleasantly cool weather, the water requirement has decreased to just two waterings a day with one liquid fertilization. birdmountain Dutch Passion pointed out to me in a comment that the Fruit Bomb Punch will stretch a lot more. I hope the pot will limit its size a bit. It has grown less in height this week, but it's developing a lot of side branches. The sunny weather is supposed to continue, but a rainy day in between would still be very welcome. birdmountain Everything is going smoothly for the Fruit Bomb Punch. She has also grown about 10 cm this week and not more. The nitrogen feedings with vinasse have been significantly reduced this week; the leaves are so dark green that I feared over-fertilization if the nutrient amount were to be maintained. She was precautionarily sprayed with diluted seaweed extract to prevent mineral deficiencies. Next week, the equipment for making compost tea is coming (a small air pump and the appropriate tubing for circulation). This is supposed to multiply many, many microbes from my worm compost and actively contribute to plant growth and their health. It's a novelty for me; at least the worm compost is being used meaningfully here. Some humus from the ground of the Benjes hedge will also be added. And it's time for a top layer in the pots with horn meal, cattle manure pellets, worm compost, and some soil. There will be pictures and bubbling videos. birdmountain It wasn't a particularly clever idea for me to pause the feeding of the Fruit Bomb Punch for two days to see how it reacts. It didn't do her any good; the leaves have turned lighter, and the height growth this week has only been 5 cm in total. That tells me that the fertilizer in the pot is depleted, and from now on, she will rely on liquid feeding or some other external fertilization. Today's first fertilization with compost tea will hopefully strengthen her and give her the energy to grow. Worm compost, BioBizz PreMix, Wuxal Calcium fertilizer, seaweed extract, and vinasse were added to the compost tea. All of this was aerated in a 20L bucket, and after 22 hours, all the plants were watered for the first time today with a 1:9 dilution. The compost tea smelled earthy, a bit smoky, slightly sour, and had also become a bit milky, not just a dark brew. Mineral deficiency should thus be ruled out. This procedure will take place weekly from now on. Since the large pots hold 72 L, the microbes should be able to survive in there for a while until the refresh in seven days. On the other days, I will continue to fertilize with vinasse and Epsom salt. I hope there won't be any over-fertilization. Wuxal Calcium is newly added since I'm not sure if the compost tea contains enough calcium. I wish you all a great grow week!

birdmountain Not much to report since last week. She has grown 10 cm, but there's still no sign of the predicted stretch of 50%. The stretch can gladly stay away; I'm fine with her current size. It was a mild summer week, and it even rained once. Unfortunately, the collected rainwater only lasted for one day. For fertilization, I've now added calcium fertilizer, which I've prepared in a stock solution, from which 10 ml is administered daily in the watering.
