a_nube_420 The ladies have already pressed their roots against the edge of the pot and have grown tall. So, it's time to transplant them into the small air pots. I'm curious if the makeshift setup (dog crate) with the lamp will be sufficient in height until mid-May, considering I'll be doing topping & LST. I'll also be putting a fan in there in the coming days...

a_nube_420 Holland's Hope is doing great and growing quite strong (mass) - it's getting at least LST next week. The Frisian Duck looks similar, as the leaves have already become wonderfully large. The Frisian Dew is growing nicely airy - I hope I can start training here next week as well.

a_nube_420 I left them alone this week. They handled the bad weather well too. Let's see if I can keep my hands off them next week as well.

a_nube_420 I'm excited about the leaves of the Frisian Duck. I didn't expect them to grow so big. The Frisian Dew is also doing well and seems to handle the topping with a slight delay. Only the Holland's Hope isn't growing as strong as expected. Maybe the light in the setup is too close. Not much longer, and they'll be coming out. The soil is already mixed, and the pots are waiting for their new settlers.

a_nube_420 Unfortunately, I didn't get around to setting up the SCROG net this week and defoliating the lower third. I hope to manage it next week. The ladies still look healthy. It's so exciting to watch the plant show its undersides in the heat... I'll add a bit of Green Bull to the water next week. I've never really dealt with plants before... Fascinating!

a_nube_420 Last week, they went into my soil mix (Floragard Growmix organic, pumice, BioBizz worm humus, rock dust, dolomite lime, neem cake, activated plant charcoal, Dryferm Bag Holiday Grow enriched with kelp meal and GreenBull). Unfortunately, it rained so much that I had to protect them with a cover and couldn't continue the LST. They definitely need LST again, and if they keep growing this vigorously, I can top them again next week.

a_nube_420 Bad weather + lack of time = late LST. I also split 2 little stems. Dumb. I temporarily tied them together with wire and hope for the best. Let's see how they develop.

a_nube_420 After all the bad weather under the cover, the ladies are thriving without it after topping with LST. Only Holland's Hope seems to be transpiring a bit more (due to its more compact growth?) - nutrient burn seems to be forming at the tips - the picture couldn't be selected for upload.

a_nube_420 I did a diary update last week with the 3D printed fabric clips for LST. Since this is my first grow, I couldn't really gauge how far I could bend them - Hope lost an arm because of that :( When I topped the ladies this week and freed them from a few shade-providing sails, I accidentally topped Hope with a sail... poor thing, I hope she recovers. Otherwise, I attached the 3D printed LST nubs (what are they called again?) from my wife to all three. The next day, they were already reaching for the sun again. They also handled the bad weather well - so I didn't water them. So far, they require little effort and it's even fun.

a_nube_420 I managed to leave them alone. With the amazing summer weather, they're starting to get thirsty now. Plus, they're growing very compact, which is why I'm going to give them some nettle tea and water today. So far, the Frisian Duck is handling the temperatures above 30 degrees the best. The Frisian Dew doesn't have as much tension in the leaves anymore, and Holland's Hope has some slightly brown leaf tips. All in all, I'm very satisfied. I would love to see some nice stretch so I can start scrogging soon.

a_nube_420 The ladies love this weather - we just have to make sure they can handle the heat well. So no stress, maybe just remove a few discolored leaves, provide some shade with cardboard, and water in the evenings (sometimes with a bit of homemade nettle tea). I'm just a newbie, but I think they're doing pretty well even in the heat.

a_nube_420 Finally, I managed to set up the frame for SCROG, but I couldn't find the net. So I just defoliated a bit at the bottom and removed a few branches. The Fridiam Dew had already drooped its buds before, but after watering, everything was fine again. I'm just afraid that spider mites are causing trouble - I need to look into that. And the Frisian Duck seems to have another deficiency besides nitrogen. I'm guessing sulfur, but I need to research that too. Holland's Hope is growing and thriving and already smells intense nearby. I'm curious to see how it goes from here.

a_nube_420 Scrog might be a bit of a stretch, but I finally implemented it. I couldn't find the actual net anymore - my ADHD is getting worse... The ladies got some nettle tea and water this evening. The magnesium dose last week for the Frisian Duck didn't quite work out, or the pH level of the water is off - but I can't tweak that. I also believe that the soil has become hydrophobic with the long heat - if you're not careful, even a Holiday Grow won't help... since they've already rooted through, I don't want to lift them so the soil can soak up again...

a_nube_420 When I look at my wife's plants compared to mine, her almost random selection seems to handle the conditions better than mine. The Frisian Dew drops its leaves relatively quickly, the Frisian Dew is struggling with a magnesium deficiency, and Holland's Hope is growing quite strangely (in some places the branches grow very densely and in others loosely, or not at all. As if it's not fully utilizing the sun). Otherwise, I'm very satisfied. I'll be adding some soil and compost next week since the root ball leaves air in the fabric pot, and I'll give it more nettle tea plus soon some Green Bull again. To help everything reach the roots better, I wanted to print root watering sticks, but that’s not working out somehow. So I ordered some for myself and my wife, hoping that it will also improve nutrient uptake and that the Holliday Grow can start thriving from the inside again...
