St33l3y_Gr0ws Hi Guys, UK Grower here - this is my first ever grow and it's going to be outdoors, I'm growing 2 autoflowers 1 fast flower photoperiod and 1 photoperiod, this diary will focus on the autos only.. wish me luck! I germinated my seeds (2/5/26) using the paper towel method, they cracked open and pushed a tap root out on day one and by day two it was long enough for me to pop them into some pots. I'm on a tight budget as I have heavy bills so I need to wait until next week to grab some more bits for their final pots. for now (although advised not too) I have planted them into some slightly larger then normal seedling pots. The substrate for this I mixed myself starting with 60% Coco Coir, 25% perlite, 5% vermiculite, 5% Seaweed fertilizer and 5% Worm Castings. I was a little scared of nutrient burn but this mix works really great for some of my veggies and my tomatoes love it so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I don't have a seedling nursery nor a heat pad or lights for my plants so I have made a diy setup, I have re-used a led ring light to supply light.. better then nothing..right? and I have put a layer of insulation around my plant pots to try and keep the soil a little warmer paired with a heater I use to keep the room they are kept in, in the 20⁰C-25⁰c range.

St33l3y_Gr0ws Week 1 Veg 😁 Not a lot happening this week, the girls have popped up strong with a beautiful colour - lovely and healthy, I noticed they where stretching a bit which is to be expected with the light setup Im using so I have brought the light closer down trying to be wary of burning her as my light gives of a decent bit of heat. My substrate is holding moisture well so iv only needed to top them up once which was this morning (7th May) I only gave her a little drink as I didn't want to over water. Week 1 Day 2 Edit: Both girls have shot up especially the Apricot Auto, they both seem to be stretching even after moving the light closer so iv order a better seedling light and a heat mat as it does tend to get a bit cold at night, both show signs of stress especially the GG auto and I think this may be due to PH or nutrients,I don't have any immediate nutrients to give her as its still out for delivery so I added a small amount of bone meal to each pot, iv also ordered myself a PH tester and some PH up and down to help combat these issues. any tips or tricks would be massively appreciated. Thank you For Reading 💚 As a side note - The pesky cat knocked over my photoperiod last night right after she shed her seed and unfortunately half of her tap root was sethered. I have re potted her and gave her a little drink, hopefully she pulls through. 😦 Edit: Unfortunately she didn't make it☹️.
