PicoDeGallo Gelato Auto, from 10 seed pack. Sprouted 1st of 4 different seeds, on day 3. The others sprouted on days 3 and 5. I’ve never grown any plants with electronic sensors, but I have to say it takes a lot of the guess work out. Thumbs up to Spider Farmer and Fast Buds.

PicoDeGallo Everything seems to be going well. I’ve been tilling the top layer of the mix to keep it from packing and dry the green algae that has appeared. Adjusted light to 22% and 16”. Just got the CO2 sensor. I plan to add.25 tsp/gal of Lotus Grow to the next water cycle. I have a drip irrigation system that I plan to install later this week.

PicoDeGallo Gelato Auto was first to sprout and is faster growing than the other 3. I added the Spider Farmer Drip Irritation setup this week. I still need to time it to run off. Then I should be able to program the Spider Farmer GGC AC5 to turn the water on for that amount of time, when the SF 3 in 1 sensor shows 25% WC. Anyone else using this setup?

PicoDeGallo Fast Buds Gelato Auto was first to sprout and continues to stay ahead of the rest. I tied it to the bag handle and took some leaves to help with light to the lower branches. Also, every leaf set, even the first single blades have branches. Changed light to “Grow Plan” on the GGS controller app and set the light to keep the PPFD at 450, progressing to 600 over the next week. And also 18-6 lights on and off. 24” from the tops. The Spider Farmer GGS controller and sensors keep the light at the right setting and the timer dims over 30 minutes at sunrise and sunset. It also triggers the water to come on when the water content WC gets to 25%. Comments and advice are welcome.

PicoDeGallo Gelato Auto is still biggest. I topped it to help the others stay about the same level it has branches on every node of the main stem. Everything seems to be taking off. All of the plants have increased in height and foliage.

I have the same seeds going now in my Aerogarden. They will be in DWC soon and I am curious why you use soil?

@PicoDeGallo, I was mostly asking why people find soil easier?? I can only seem to do hydro, last time soil I had broad mites and they are invisible, nit the damage is fatal. You don’t prefer hydroponics for some reason? Just curious thanks. Here’s a picture of 2 1/2 weeks in Hydro hunt.

@Schafe1001, I used the potting soil because I didn’t know about how much to fertilize and hoped it would work. I switched to 70/30 peat/perlite because grok AI recommended it or coco and the peat was available locally. I’ve never done hydro but I think I’m going to eventually order Spider Farmer’s 4 bucket system. I understand that it’s not as forgiving as soil but if it’s done properly it works well.

@PicoDeGallo, they grow so fast now I can almost watch it in front of me. The only time I ever had a problem was in soil, because things like broad might are in soil and basically live inside your plant. you think you have a nutrient deficiency until it’s too late. I think most people are intimidated by DWC which is so so so easy in control people if you’re putting in the time which to me is less time than mixing different types of soil and pearly and pest control, etc. happy growing. 👍 I couldn’t read it but do use CO2?
