Ananas Express + Amnesia (Auto, Outdoor)

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-05-22 Hesitant Start -Germination took almost 5 days, but both hatched at the same time on 20.5. -They will now receive asylum with their indoor colleagues for another 7 to a maximum of 10 days. -For fire protection, they are both currently positioned at the bottom of the tent. Given the current weather forecast, they will be moved outside in plastic cups to their final pots next week & then repotted for good after a few days.

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-05-29 Run, Forrest, run! Two days ago, the conditions were perfect for repotting: about 25 degrees during the day, and almost tropical values at night with 18 degrees. So out with the two of them, and from now on it’s: Show what you can do! Both plants are in 21L terracotta pots, filled with old soil + Compo long-term fertilizer + soil improver (about 50%), herb and seedling soil (35%), and perlite (15%); with only seedling soil in the planting core. Watering is done via one Blumat per pot, using only pH-regulated tap water lightly mixed with Epsom salt. In terms of temperature, the moving shock was as minimal as possible. But: Direct sunlight will now only be about 4 hours a day, and it’s currently very hot at around 30°C (and therefore much too low humidity). Hopefully, this doesn’t stress the two too much... but now, about 2 days after the move, everything looks good so far!

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-06-05 Wild Weather Rollercoaster The Amnesia is already doing quite well despite the weather capers, while the Pineapple Express is lagging behind. It's actually understandable (or: Surprising that the Amnesia is kicking off like this), considering we've had everything from 30°C and pure sunshine to a temperature drop to 17°C, including heavy rain and downpours. This requires a bit of creativity; inverted mini greenhouse lids are now serving as improvised water deflectors when needed. So far, it's working flawlessly, but when the two get bigger... hopefully, we'll have high summer & corresponding conditions ;-) Thanks to the downpour, the hygrometer sensor took a little dip, hence the slight "misalignment" in yesterday's graph. But the sensor is back to normal after drying out. Other than that, there's not much to say - it's just going smoothly!

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-06-12 tough times The weather during the week was quite changeable & there was little direct sun. For the coming days, it’s even supposed to get colder first, but in about 7 days it should become summery with temperatures clearly over 30°C. So far, the Amnesia is handling the conditions much better than the Pineapple. The AI says it’s due to its Sativa-dominant genetics. The Pineapple, on the other hand, with its more Indica-dominant genetics, has been struggling more with the cool, slightly humid conditions. Lady Pineapple now has to stay brave for a few more days before the conditions (hopefully!) develop more in her favor. Both ladies are meanwhile showing identical deformities on the leaves of the same node: A clear indication that their roots have left the growing substrate & are working their way into the remaining, quite heavily fertilized pot. So, all in all, everything is fine for now & the outlook is good. However, I don’t believe either of them will come close to their life cycle claims (Pineapple 50 days, Amnesia 60 days). In particular, the Pineapple should have started flowering by now. God bless the drums & whistles that she hasn’t yet, the yield would be downright pathetic...

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-06-19 Tough times By mid-week, it was wet, windy, and cool, which was clearly visible on both ladies. There was hardly any development at all, and instead, there were damages to the leaves because they were constantly being battered by the wind against the legs of their weather protection. For the past 2 days, it has been way too hot, and nothing will change in the coming days. Additionally, the pineapple is already showing the first signs of pre-flowering. So if it really manages to survive the pests and the upcoming heat somehow, its "yield" will hardly deserve the name... just expenses, nothing else for her. On the other hand, the Amnesia looks more like a fighter and could actually deliver a bit of yield... But: As a "bonus," aphids have now settled on her. They probably went undetected for way too long because I initially attributed the leaf damage only to the wind and mechanical impacts. Luckily, I took a closer look today. At least you can deal with those pesky little creatures using lacewing larvae and aphid-free solutions - but nothing can be done about the weather... 😠

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-06-26 🌿 Tough Ladies 🌿 - Already absolutely crazy weather values & the next 2 days it’s going to be another 7-8 degrees (!!!) warmer - During the week, I received lacewing larvae & aphid-ex from the spray bottle, applied them immediately - Both plants have shown signs of pre-flowering for about a week, but no further development in that regard (probably stress stagnation due to flowering + pest stress + weather stress) - Yesterday I reconfigured the water setup: raised the tank & connected 6 more Blumate for other terrace watering, resulting in higher water exchange (urgently needed due to the temperatures!) Despite all the drama with aphids & extreme weather changes at the beginning of flowering: The two ladies are doing surprisingly well, for about 2 days they have been growing wonderfully vibrant and deep green again! Fortunately, they have suffered relatively little damage to the foliage from the aphids. However, some light to yellow spots are appearing (or remaining), which will be closely monitored. So far, only old leaves that were previously infested with aphids are affected, not the fresh upper shoots. In the best case, these are just secondary damages - but maybe (especially the Amnesia) is slowly entering a lockout. Last week, only clear water was added for protection/stress reduction & nothing else. However, this is increasingly worsening the Cal-Mag ratio, so: Tonight the water will be adjusted back to pH 6.5 like before all the "accidents" & the magnesium level will be raised again with Epsom salt. If the two can get through the next 2 days reasonably well, everything should relax a bit. Tomorrow and the day after, 40°C is forecasted, which could go up to 50 degrees on the terrace. After that, the weather report predicts a wonderfully "cool" 25 degrees, with some rainfall as well.

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-07-03 🔥 50°C Heatwaves - The Ultimate Outdoor Resilience Test! - absolute heat extremes of nearly 50°C (terrace located in the house triangle), yet only 2 fan leaves per plant have died - plus extreme humidity differences - maximum stress for the two - tank volume dropped from 15L to 30L (consumption also increased due to additional plants on the terrace) - from this point on, the "safety switch" kicks in: hydrostatic pressure is still enough for the ladies on the ground, but not for the remaining plants that are 50cm higher - remaining 15L = "reserve," which is now exclusively for the ladies First cold and windy, then pests, and now extreme heat: nothing seems to be able to bring the 2 ladies down. Sure, they look a bit rough overall, and especially the pineapple is still extremely underdeveloped. Nevertheless, both have continued to grow, the pineapple +10cm and the Amnesia even a proud 20cm! Since both are absolute fighters, there will be no stopping - they are meant to show what is ultimately possible under such extreme circumstances. At least, according to the weather report, we will have much more moderate temperatures in the coming days, ranging from 20 to a best of 25 degrees. With a bit of sunshine, it should still reach around 30 degrees on the terrace, so actually the best conditions. If it weren't for the rain and especially the wind - both are also coming, but hopefully not too strong....

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-07-10 ☀️ Outdoor Survivors: Shaking off the Heatwave & Blooming Strong! Even though both ladies have noticeable scars from the heat and aphid battle on their older fan leaves: the recovery is going very well. The moderate temperatures at the beginning of the week have helped a lot, although it was also quite wet at times. While the Pineapple remains compact and rather bushy at a fine 65 cm, the Amnesia has broken the 1m mark, now reaching 105 cm. Since the structure of both plants remains very "airy," defoliation is still not necessary. So, aside from keeping an eye on the water reservoir, there’s nothing more to do. The good weather and the bloom phase will take care of the rest. 😎

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-07-17 Self-healing completed Hard to believe after all the adversities, but the two ladies are actually developing quite impressive buds! The weather has also played along almost perfectly in the past week - but only until now, as thunderstorms, hail, and heavy rain are coming our way. Hopefully, it won't be too bad...

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-07-24 -very changeable, way too cold weather for July -nevertheless, nice development of both ladies -Dashboard upgrade in HA, SenseCAP values from the nearest station provide comparison values to my own balcony sensor Despite the gray, damp, and cold week in July, the two ladies are holding up quite well. That the buds are still quite fluffy and airy is completely normal given the history and the current lack of light. However, the overall growth is back on track. The structure, especially with the Amnesia, is much airier than indoors, but in terms of mold, this current weather is a true blessing. The pineapple has even gained another 10cm despite the dreary weather and looks bushier and more compact in the pot. Thanks to beautiful resin formation on the sugar leaves and pistils, it sparkled wonderfully around the buds of both ladies today with the first rays of sunshine in days! 😍😍😍 Mathematically, the pineapple has just about two weeks left, but I still don't see that happening. Both seem to give the impression that they have some catching up to do... we'll see. At least the weather forecast looks good; next week it’s consistently rising towards 30°C. Hopefully, there will be plenty of sunshine too, then both could build up some serious mass. 💪

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-07-31 It was a pretty warm week at first, and later even very warm - and the ladies are visibly thriving! The trichomes on both are slowly changing from clear to milky, and the Amnesia is also showing the first signs of fading. She will probably be ready in about 2 weeks. And indeed, she’s also starting to bring some color into the mix, with the first violet tones appearing around the headbuds. The smell, on the other hand, is boring; it just smells like weed, a bit of pine, earthy... nothing special. The pineapple, however, is puzzling me. It looks way too much like a Sativa to match the strain description. Its leaves and overall appearance also show no signs of fading yet; in terms of color, it still only knows green. But the now pleasantly fruity smell and the trichome check reveal that it can't be long now. Either way, it's predictably late; the initial difficulties at the beginning of the grow have left their mark... but there are already 2 pineapple successors ready! Let's see how they will develop...

Theo_Rehtisch 2026-08-07 Final Sprint! The weather was just perfect for the current flowering stage, very warm & lots of sunshine. The two ladies are soaking it up gratefully, and especially the Pineapple has really bulked up. The Amnesia, on the other hand, is already diligently sucking its fan leaves dry and then dropping them; it's close to its end. But the trichomes on both plants are still mostly milky, with amber just barely starting to show. I'm giving the Amnesia another week, but I need to keep an eye on the Pineapple... the Pineapple is smelling more intense, getting nicer in a fruity-citrus direction. I can totally understand the naming now!
