Germination
1mo ago
CraftKraut I popped 6 Seeds, 3 of every strain, let them germinate for a few days and chose the strongest seeds to go in 30l / 8 Gallon Fabric Pots by "Rooties". I ended up planting 2 Lemon Orange into the outer pots and 1 Dark Phoenix in the center pot. The remaining seeds went into smaller pots of various sizes. They stayed as backup until flower-flip and got transplanted outdoors, they are not party of the diary.

CraftKraut For the first two weeks not much happenend, the seedling show steady growth. Only the center Dark Phoenox took quite long to shed its shell and was a little slower in growth compared to the vigorous Lemon Oranges, but otherwise no Issues. Watering was done by hand with roughly 300-400ml every few days when the soil was dry. The top layer of soil was covered with mulch by Sonnenerde. The light was kept on Veg-mode and 25% intensity amounting to 40w total.

CraftKraut With more growth the amount of water was steadily increased with every watering. On day 21 the plants were topped once above the second node. The Lemon Oranges continued to outgrow the single center Dark Phoenix a little.

CraftKraut The plants took the topping well and continued to grow with little to no signs of stress or deficiencies. The Dark Phoenix continued to stay behind but looked healthy nevertheless. The plants did not gain to much height overall with some of the larger fan-leaves touching the soil.

CraftKraut One week before flipping to flower the plants each received a top dress with 3l worm castings mixed with mycorrhiza and dry amendments by Almicanna plus some CalMag (Gypsum + Epsom Salt in ~500ml Water wich was then used to saturate the 10l of worm castings). The outer plants had large enough main branches to receive lst through 3D-printed LST-Clips by GrowerGlueck, branches that where to short were bent horizontaly using coated garden wire. A treluce net was also put in place to scrog the plants during the upcoming weeks of stretch. A little defoliation was done to thin out the inner canopy and allow light to penetrate deeper into the plant.

CraftKraut During the second week of flowering the plants started filling out the 4' × 2' / 120cm × 60cm grow-space. With the early flower stretch continuing the plants began to form a nice even canopy, the first branches started to reach the SCroG-Net.

CraftKraut During week 3 of flower the lower half of the tent became more and more packed. All 3 plants grew vigorously branching out as much as they could. The first Buds now began to form visibly.

CraftKraut At the end of week 3 / start of week 4 flower the plants were "lollipopped" and defoliated, all 3 plants reached the ScrOG-net with their main-branches now, so that organizing them and forming an even canopy became much easier. All plants looked healthy, even though I had an infestation with fungus gnats (which I got rid of eventually by using sf nematodes twice).

CraftKraut Week 5 the plants bulked up their buds nicely. The first trichome were now clearly visible and the first terpenes (mostly sour) were detectable, which promised well for the coming weeks.

Lacto-fermented
300 mll
CraftKraut During week 6 the Bud-Stacking continued, with more trichomes forming. So far only minor issues, ocurred most likely caused by improper watering or a cal-mag deficiency. In addition to the plain water used for general watering I also added 300ml of lacto-fermented plant manure (made from the plant material I cut off at the end of week 3) to the mix. Shockingly, at the last day of week 6 I discovered that the Lemon Orange on the left had formed a handful of pollen sacks. They had not opened yet and I removed all of them (all I was able to spot at least) and decided to not remove the plant from the tent.
