KanOrganics ---
I gave up on outdoor cannabis cultivation after more than 20 years, because I'm always left with crap due to nearly 100% RH and 100F+ all summer long. So, I built me a 12x4ft x 16in tall raised bed to have more room for my various breeding projects.
This year, my outdoor grow consists entirely of creating F2's of my Orange Accident strain.
The lineage is:
Mother: Zoap Rose [Kannabia]
Father: (Purple Urkle #103 x Purple Urkle [CSI]) x BOGBubble [BOG Seeds]
=
Orange Accident F1 [KanOrganics]
I called it Orange Accident because my breeding run with the father pollinated everything in my house, and accidentally got Zoap Rose. Every single bract was hit and nothing spared lol. I got tons of seeds. Zoap Rose was an incredibly orange/soapy smell. So, Orange Accident.
Anyway, I sprinkled about 100 Orange Accident F1 seeds in my raised bed, and I'm going to let them fight for sunlight with no training. I'll be paying attention to the best phenos, and will take some cuttings from them before flower starts. I'll be paying attention to mostly overall structure/morphology and resistance to mold/pests.
Once flower starts and the cuttings are rooted/well-established indoor, I'll let them flower seedlessly, and compare the aroma/effects to limit the selection down for F2.

KanOrganics I'll be updating this diary every 2 weeks, instead of 1. Mostly because I'm not paying much attention to them, and just letting them grow.

As you can see, they really took off in the past two weeks. The left side is smaller because I had a large mother plant of another strain growing there and shadowing them. But I cloned her again, and chopped her down today to give them more light. This should let them catch up somewhat in the next two weeks.
I'm already seeing some really lanky plants with a very large internodal distance, so that's a good sign. I'd say we have about 50 plants, and all I need is one male.

I did absolutely nothing to the plants the past 2 weeks (as planned), besides count them. We have 90 plants here. They are already very tall and smell strong. The stem rub on most of them is very orange-y, exactly what I was going for (mother's trait). Still no sign of sex yet, but it should be seen on most before the next update in two weeks.
@DomForester, I know, right? I just pulled two little ones out of the middle that weren't getting enough sun, so really 88. I was surprised when I counted them. It does not look like that many up close either.
@KanOrganics, I think you redefined what SOG means outdoors 😅 Good luck! Can't wait to see what becomes of this! And I might need some of your Orange Accident seeds...
@DomForester, Thanks, and sure, hit me up at the end of the season. This grow is for seed making only, not bud, so I'll have plenty. This is an F1, so stability is not there yet. The F2 seeds it makes will be selected for the strong orange smell the mother had. I''ll be doing F3 next year for more stability, but F2 is where you start seeing some nice traits in the phenotypes.
