First week for these 2 was rough. Once they sprouted above soil, we had a terrible flood in our basement and woke up to my plants floating in their tent. Impromptu replant in their final bucket sooner than I had planned but everyone seemed unaffected.
Rolling into week two I haven’t needed to water since I had the flood and my plants were basically soil drenched. Every one sprouted after, this is when I began looking into self watering systems or SIPs.
Both autos are still in the tent with a couple random bagseeds that i was keeping indoors until they were older. I’ve set them up on a cheap self watering system, I was a horrible waterer.
Week 4 they really start to take off once I moved the 2 remaining bagseeds outside. Purple kush bagseed seedling because I’ve lost my mind apparently....
Every time I open this tent I swear they grow 6 inches. Forgive me if photos are kinda messed up as I’m going back week by week. I just keep the SIP reservoirs to proper level, do some LST to keep them short.
A 4 foot tent was not a good idea in hindsight. But let’s see where this takes us...
Week 6 had an issue with critical purple decapitating herself over night after I must’ve staked her down too hard. So CP has been topped, with LST. I guess we will see how the yields compare at harvest, eh? The smell is LOUD asf when I unzip the tent as well. Such a beautiful smell to get smacked with. Also started Hindu Kush auto - really lost my mind. 11 plants total with my outside grows. my excitement overruns my anxiety for lack of space right now...
Starting week 7 today. Bought a new tent, should be here soon. I’ll use the small 2x2 to dry for now... can’t wait to let my girls spread out. Some of the leaf tips are curling from being too close to the bulbs.. tying as flat as I can until it can be set up.
Set up tent Monday night. CP was looking like she was over feeding herself, so i took her off the SIP for the night. By morning she was perked up and perfect. Made up my mind to top my Hindu Kush when it’s time. CP has been out growing TDA ever since... we shall see how this defoliation goes, going camping for the night so won’t know until tomorrow night.
Critical Purple is just doing leaps and bounds better than tangerine dream. Not sure if it’s the topping, or just strain but it has me seriously considering topping my few week old Hindu Kush auto when it’s time. TD is taking a bit longer for her buds to fatten, even though she started flowering before CP. I’ll update more photos as the week progresses
Critical purple is really fattening up. TDA is chugging along at a much slower rate, hence lacking in pictures. Setting up a new self watering system for the indoor grow to cut down on humidity in the tent.
New microscope came in, just in time to start checking trichs on CP. I never realized how hard it is to keep a steady hand for a proper shot, so hopefully I’ll have better focused shots soon...
Appears they’re mostly clear, I like that couchlock high so I’m going for mostly amber but maybe partial harvest?
I don’t know. Comments, suggestions, opinions, all are welcome here. For now I can wait.
Getting reservoir squared away for my new blumat type style self watering system. I wanted to use a 5 gallon bucket as one main with connected by bulk head fittings, sprung some leaks with what I have rigged up so I put that on hold and now just using mason jars, with press and seal to keep humidity in the jar.
Hindu Kush showing sign of nitrogen deficiency, made a compost tea with alfalfa meal and earth worm castings and top watered. Growth seems to have picked up much more since the tea, so will keep an eye on it.
CP should be ready for harvest soon. Trichs still appear mostly clear to me... looking for mostly amber.
