Nr.3.2 - Monstercropping

High_And_Hydro I have a cutting of my RDWC New Money No.3 from the Growmotion phenohunt outdoors in soil. It was already in bloom and has revegged, so it has been through quite a bit, but it's surviving. To be precise, 2 cuttings have survived, one is in my neighbor's garden and one is with me. Because of this, I'm hoping to maybe take another cutting in the fall, reveg it, and grow it indoors in RDWC again. I want to learn how much and how quickly the genetics drift or become unusable and what else changes.

High_And_Hydro The first days outside went well. The weather was nice and the sun was shining. Right now, she's only getting nettle tea and well water.

High_And_Hydro The weather was overcast and cold, and it kept raining. They are protected by the plastic, but the humidity is extreme.

High_And_Hydro The week was changeable, partly rainy and partly sunny spells. It was relatively cold, though.

High_And_Hydro Last week it rained really heavily again and was often overcast, plus it was cold. It developed some powdery mildew on one fan leaf, so I removed that leaf. The others look good so far, and the weather has definitely become warmer, sunnier, and drier. Some leaves have been chewed up by flea beetles or leafhoppers, so I treated them twice with neem oil. Hopefully, that will take care of it now.

High_And_Hydro Last week the weather was excellent. Sunny and warm with little rain. She has some strange white spots here and there that look a bit like powdery mildew, but I suspect that could also be from the neem oil treatment and they're just water spots. I'll keep an eye on it.

High_And_Hydro Last week I was in the hospital, so there were no pictures. She looks good, and considering the terrible weather with 17°C and just rain and storms, she's made quite good progress.

High_And_Hydro She occasionally gets some leftover nutrients that I still have lying around and need to get rid of. These include: Canna Hydro Vega + Flores, Plagron Alga Bloom, Biobizz Grow, Bloom, Topmax, as well as Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) and Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4). The 19L pot is definitely too small for a photoperiod outdoor plant, so the compost and some nettle tea are not enough to properly supply the plants. There are signs of nitrogen deficiency (chlorosis of the lower leaves), brown spots (not 100% sure if calcium is lacking in this case), and overall a pale appearance (possible magnesium deficiency/nitrogen deficiency). The weather isn't really cooperating either, and there's another longer rainy period with temperatures below 20°C forecasted, just like last week. These temperatures additionally lead to poorer nutrient uptake, and the high humidity hinders water consumption, which is why I've decided to raise the EC value in the medium a bit to still ensure good supply.

High_And_Hydro Last week we had bad weather again with clouds and 18°C, the day before yesterday it rained all day long, and now it's just okay. The forecast for the next 2 days is over 30°C.

High_And_Hydro Last week, I gave a bit of PK13/14 because I felt that the plants didn't respond very well to the calcium-ammonium nitrate the week before. I suspected a cation imbalance, or a calcium/magnesium surplus, which pushed out the potassium. Potassium is responsible for water balance, among other things, and they looked a bit limp, even though they were watered properly and the weather was somewhat decent. This was particularly evident in the tomatoes, and they have already responded quite well and gained a bit of leaf tension. Whether it was an imbalance or the pH level in the medium got a bit off, I can only guess. It could have been something completely different, and I might be totally wrong and just have been lucky that they are still alive so far.

High_And_Hydro She hasn't formed any stigmas yet, so she still hasn't gone into flowering. The weather is okay at the moment, it's dry, warm, and the sun is shining here too. Otherwise, not much has happened...
