First time - fingers crossed!

Randyaster We have lift off! 3 days after planting the seed, she popped out. As of now, I am 5 days in total in to it. I’m glad it sprouted as I only planted the one seed. My sticky traps and ph meter arrived today. I now need to pick up some ph down solution as the water I’m using has a ph of 7. I had the lights on for 24hrs to help with heat and a humidity dome over the seedling. I have the light at 50% and about 60cm from the pot. I’ve taken the humidity dome off, watered around the seedling and set a light schedule of 18/6. I’ll have to keep an eye on the temperature when the light is off, but that 6 hours is during the day where it should be warm enough naturally. I also set my clip fan to come on for 3 hours, then off for 1 at a low speed. For the inline fan, I have set that to environmental settings to prioritise humidity. My plan is to keep on watering when dry for the next 2 weeks and then introduce nutrients.

Randyaster Today is day 14 from when I planted the seed. She seems to be doing ok for now. I’m finding it really difficult to figure out how much to water her. I’ve been watering when dry, and trying not to water too much as a seedling. I have watched so many videos and read so many different things that conflict each other regarding the volume of water to give. The last watering I gave her was 500ml of water with a ph of 6.5 That was 2 days ago and she’s looking like she needs more. Today I’ll be starting to use bio bizz grow nutrients. I’m going to give her 1litre with 1/3 the recommended dose. The humidity in the grow tent is a bit high at about 70 - 75%. I put a small dehumidifier in there about 2 hours ago and it has increased to 79%!! WTF! It’s lights out at the moment but I’ll check in a few hours to see if it’s actually taking water from the air in their. I’m not too sure what else to do regarding the humidity. I’m kinda stuck with where the grow tent is, so can’t change the lung room. I’d like to try address it before flowering, so I’ll keep on trying. I’m interested to see how the nutrients work out and my made up feeding quantities. If anyone can give any guidance on how much to feed at this stage and the next, it would be greatly appreciated.

Randyaster I fucked up. The plant wasn’t looking too well and I hadn’t watered her in 3 days at this point. I was giving her 1 litre of water with bio grow and in my inexperience I presumed she was thirsty. I increased the amount to 2 litres and the next day she was quite sad looking. So was I as I was reading in to overwatering that night and realised what I had done. I took the pot out and it was soaked at the base. I soaked off as much as I could with towels etc. I then placed it on a wire mesh above the drip tray (she was just sitting it in) pointed a fan at the fabric pot and stopped feeding. The last feed was 3 days ago. She has grown a little in those 3 days and looks a tiny bit better. I’m going to wait another few days and judge it. I got a moisture meter and the soil is still moist. I had also slowly increased the lights up to 100% over a few days from 60% and I don’t think this did her any favours. I’ve brought the light intensity back down to 75% I’m gutted and anxious about how or if she will make it to harvest.

Randyaster It hasn’t been a great week for her. Last week I think I was dealing with overwatering. This week I think I could have nutrient lockout or bud rot. She is still growing but she just looks a little sad. I was drying her back last week and I gave her 500ml of water with bio grow 4 days ago. I’m quite confused at the moment from reading so much about what’s going on. Some of the leaves are curling at the tips and there are some yellow tips on some of the new growth. If it’s lockout, then I should flush? But if it’s an overwatering problem, that will make things worse. The soil seems dry throughout so I’m going to give her 2l of water and if there is run off, I’ll check that with my ph pen. I’m stopping adding bio grow for now and going to see how it plays out. I was quite cautious from the start with this though. I was adding about 1/3 the recommended dose. The excitement that ive had from the start of my first grow has now gone and turned to fear of messing it up. My hope is that I figure out where I have gone wrong so I can learn from it. But for now; I’m still in the figuring out phase.

Randyaster Hit the 5 week mark today. It was a bit scary last week as she was looking like she was over watered or had nutrient lockout. I realised I was giving her the wrong water. I was feeding with bottled water and wasn’t paying attention to the ppm content of it along with the nutrients I was giving with each feed. I flushed her with plain tap water ph’d to 6.5 on the last 2 feeds and she perked up a bit. I started with the nutrients and correct water from yesterday and gave her a good trim. She is starting to flower now and I’m hoping I’ll get something from her. She seems to be looking great in the morning time but a bit droopy when I get in from work. That being said, the lights turn back on at 5pm so she’s just waking up really. I shall keep calm and carry on though, as the old saying goes…. It’s not over until bud rot hits and ruins everything!
