LovelyTerps August 21 2026 She's now throwing out a few pistils at the nodes, and she's probably going to keep stretching for some time yet. Website description says she has a mind of her own and the stretching and branching seems to never stop. It'll be interesting to see how tall she reaches after a couple more weeks. Hopefully the weather holds out for the next couple of months, as the seasons change rapidly here and October is entirely unpredictable in terms of temperature and weather. If she survives until harvest, she's going to be enduring some fairly cold nights I imagine. Probably not below freezing though, but definitely enough to get some colors showing. 🍂

LovelyTerps August 28 2026 She is starting to stack flowers now, and still stretching. She's actually branching more than stretching, but it has been rainy and cold over the past week, with last night dipping to 9 Celsius. She's looking pretty beaten up at the newer growth from all the cold. The forecast shows it warming up for the next week or two, with warmer nights as well, so with any luck she will get the sun and warmth needed to pack on some weight and finish.

LovelyTerps Friday September 4 2026 She's still stretching and in the past week she has started to bulk up. It was raining and/or overcast most of the past week, but since yesterday the sunny weather has come back and is looking to stay that way into next week. Temperature lows at night are reaching as low as 9C, and around 24C during daylight hours. I took the opportunity to brush a bit of 2-stroke Lemonade pollen on her larf sites at the bottom. While I was careful, it's always remotely possible other sites get hit. I'm not that worried as this was an experimental run to begin with, as where I live is rugged terrain with tall trees, and only 4-5 hours of direct sunlight make it through on the best day. considering all that, she's doing better than I'd hoped. It's also very humid outside still, but so far she's been a champ. I gave her a top dressing of Kelp extract yesterday. I've been giving her nutrients here and there, but she was planted in some pretty rich soil with Hen Manure, blood meal, bone meal, urea, worm castings, cal-mag, etc., and it's been enough for the past few months. Fingers cross the weather holds out until mid October, otherwise I may need to put a tent around her at night or something lol.

LovelyTerps September 11 2026 She's hanging in there and still relatively healthy. The weather has been chaotic in every way possible. I had to remove a rotted bud from the main cola a foot down from the top, but everything around it still looks normal. With any luck I caught it in time from spreading, but with the humidity spikes and chilly temps at night it's going to be rough. Night time temps this weekend are looking to dip as low as 5C, but then go back to "normal" next week. At least that means it'll be sunny and warm in the day. The larf that I pollinated a week ago seems to have at least partly taken. It rained pretty heavily a few days after the attempt but a few of the sites look nice and wiry looking already.
