Germination

birdmountain The Ice Cream Cake F2 seeds were placed in the Sproutly germination assistant by Kannabia according to instructions. I hope all the seeds will germinate quickly. In the first weeks until the sex is identified, they will be kept in pots while the Living Soil substrate matures. I've never done this before; the soil goes into a 90 x 90 x 50 cm container that fits perfectly in the grow box. About the Ice Cream Cake F2 strain from Antonio Genetics: Wedding Cake x Gelato 33 Possible THC content: usually between 20-25%, max. just under 30% Flowering time 8-9 weeks About Living Soil: I'm working with Living Soil for the first time, and I realize that the amount of soil (about 320 l.) must remain in the grow box and, since it's alive, it also needs to be maintained and kept moist after the harvest. All ingredients are already available; they consist of used potting soil, rice husks, perlite, worm compost with worms, horn meal, bat guano, remnants of Terra Preta, algal lime, diabase rock dust, flax straw for mulching, and possibly wood chips as well. Whether there will be a cover crop added remains to be seen. What worries me a bit is the humidity that needs to be managed during the flowering period, as I haven't been venting the air outside so far. Hopefully, it won't become a problem. Thank you very much for your interest!

Have fun and success with your first living soil grow. Most of the moisture comes from the transpiration of the plants - the bed itself uses much less. But 320 liters is already a reasonable bed, so you'll have to manage a lot of moisture during the flowering stage. I only have 110 liters, and for me, it's been 1.8 liters daily in a 60 x 60 cm tent (1 plant / 110 liters bed / up to 29 degrees). In the veg stage, you can keep the bed wetter (100 mbar) and in the flowering stage drier (120 mbar).
