July 8th - Plants growing well. Bad weather this week. 4 days of cloud with rain off and on. Big storm coming tomorrow.
July 11th - Transplanted seedlings to 5 gallon airpots. Trying something new we that we read about. One was a straight transplant. The other we cut the bottom off the pot and planted that into the 5 gallon airpot. Apparently this is a better system for watering while the seedling is still young and less shock/chance of stunting the autoflower. As it gets older we slide the pot up and over so that it has full access to the airpot.
July 15th - 20th
July 20th - After losing a critical week of great veg growth due to poor weather we invested in a led light to help boost is for the 1st month. Check out our 2nd diary for the details on the light. They seem to have already perked up with the light. Daytime is sunlight. Evening and night is light.
Started LST on the twins. Watched a bunch of YouTube and read a bunch of blogs. Think I have a good idea of how to do it. Trying not to play with them too much, it’s hard though BC they grow so fast!
Our fist attempt at LST seems to be working super well. You can see a lot of secondary branches coming up to become big colas. These two ladies started flowering this week. Growing at what’s seems to be a half inch per day. We had to leave to go camping for two weeks. Left the ladies outside in the sun with a friend to check on them and continue the LST. Wish we could be doing it ourselves as it’s so much fun. Sorry for the poor photos. Left in a rush. Edited the photos to
neutralize the lights
We left town for two weeks and took two of our ladies with us! See our 1st diary for that adventure! We left behind 6 to be taken care of by a friend. He did a great job. Gave him a crash course in LST training. They took to it nicely!
The LST has had a tremendous effect. Tons of big colas. No idea how much it's going to produce but looks like 5-6 dominant colas. Feeding every second watering. Seems to be about every 4 days right now. I've just been leaving them outside because the weather has been so great. We've got renters downstairs and the wife is complaining that the smell is entering the basement suite. I'm going to trying to find an alternative solution for our grow room as the weather starts to become wetter and colder in BC. Smell is strong and bud are super sticky.
